The setting is different, while mine is a classical era while berserk is early renaissance. The main character was originally based off of an amalgamation of Octavian Caesar, Julius Caesar and Alexander of Makedon. But that just makes him a very beautiful young man that is ruthless, calculating, ambitious and charismatic. But have a huge flaw of hubris and unable to handle large setbacks, much like Griffith. That's one of the similarities among others.

I learned a lot of lore lessons from reading Tolkien's works as a kid in elementary. Gotta go in depth or go home.
Well, reading a lot of world history. I learned that cultures often had gods/goddesses correspond to what objects and concepts were important to them and present in every day life. (e.g. Horus with the bright sun in Egypt, Osiris with death and afterlife.) So I created several nations modelled after real ones. And placed them on the map of that world, and based on my knowledge of meteorology/geography/geology I modified their cultures/religions/history based on their surroundings.

Yeah, in 6th grade I tested at a 3rd year college level reading skill. I could read very well although I actually barely read anything.

But they're separate religions because of the cultures that saw the Gods and interpreted it in their own way. And then those cultures interpret it in a paganish way that is similar to roman/greek/celtic mythology. (Zeus/Jupiter)
And have the archons (which function similar to the apostles in berserk) actually BE interpretations of those cultural deities.
