Be known to your platoon sergeant, 1SG and Commander for always being on-point and charging harder than anyone. When anyone asks, you are studying for the Soldier of the Month board, and hope to make Sergeant within a few months. Max out all the points you can.
If you keep that up for a few years, and are good at your job, you'll be his boss, one day.
