My test was sent as a separate letter once they received my fee. I was hoping I could just do it online but I had to send it back by recorded delivery, adding yet more expense. I have friends that took a few days to fill they out, they were fined and their license canceled for taking too long. It's a joke.

Someone doesn't know how radio waves work. Broadcast radio/television signals go literally everywhere. Theyl enter your house whether or not you're using them or even own a tv/radio. You cannot detect someone receiving a signal, you can only detect someone transmitting a signal.

No not for radio thankfully. You still have to pay a license for a black and white tv! (yes people still have those here). Also if you are blind I think you can get a reduction. Over 75's are spared the fee and test if I remember correctly.

They can't magically switch off the aerial ports in your house. AFAIK the only thing you NEED a license for is to sign in to BBC iPlayer. I haven't actually used iPlayer since the changes were made so I don't know how that works.
Nobody has ever got fined unless you literally invite them in to your house and show them your TV setup and tell them you don't have a license.

you have to tell the gov where you are living, like register. the tv guys check that database so they know if you own/rented a house apartment, than you have to pay. if you dont pay you get sued, if you still dont pay they put you into jail till you pay. this way you can lose you life for not paying tv fee.
