I don't know if I want to really know. I feel like there's some part of me that wants to help things and make the world a better place - whatever that means. So whenever I see something even depicted as being the victim of sadism I want to do something - but there's no point. Like you said nothing is really getting hurt. I was struggling with the natural inclination to feel sorry and care for cute things, while seeing their misery had such a draw on me.
When I realized that looking at these pics and stories, didn't inherently make me into a person who wanted to do these things on other living beings.

You're right they wouldn't survive on their own, but there would be a lot of people who would help them out. If a fluffy begged on the street, at least 1 person would give it some food. If they have a food source, they could last. Besides fluffies are slightly smarter than people seem to give them credit for, or at least they have better communication
