Personally, I'm doubting the professionals who diagnosed me because I'm really atypical. While I do often develop narrow, highly focused interests bordering on obsession and find certain repetitive behaviors calming, and have horrible social skills, I do not exhibit other signs of the disorder. In fact, my skills with language are far above average. I proudly touted a vocabulary of 30 words before my first birthday. And my motor skills are roughly average. I'm also not exactly organized. Like, at all. Most autistic people have a borderline fetish for order but I kinda live in chaos. I'm convinced I'm actually just incredibly socially awkward.
