Occupation thread? I own a business dealing with financial services, specializing in insurance and investments.
I'm curious to see what the rest of Cred Forums does to make money.

I work part time at a Wawa which is glorified convenience store. I'm currently studying physics in college with the hopes that I'll never have to touch another fucking hoagie for the rest of my life.

Grew up in PA but moved a while ago. Haven't been inside a Wawa in over 15 years. My dad used to stop with me there on the way to school to have a sandwich made for my lunch. Dem feels man
Fellow /biz/ owner. Masonry Restoration/Waterproofing Contractor.
Unemployed. Amerifag here, probably going to kill myself rather than live a shell of an existence that is predetermined and dreadful.
Worked in a retirement village for 5+ years. There really is no point in seeking or feeling individualism, nothing you do or want to do truly matters.
Work at trader joes. Deal with bitchy white mothers and cuntfaced Indian hags.
Me and two of my friends own a stock brokerage firm.
How long did you last before you dropped out and why did you? I just started and im already struggling just because I'm not used to having so much classwork that actually counted towards my grade.
unemployed
i've done IT support, factory work, data entry, editing, and i am all out of ideas for what field i can go into next. perhaps politics, because i know any field i go into DISAPPEARS.
I'm living in a town of mostly retirees.
They do nothing but complain about how 'this generation' doesn't do anything, and then runs news stories on "Why are all our college grads leaving town?"
Old people fucking suck.
Wawa was always where my family would stop before we went on long car rides or where my friends and I would go when we wanted food at 3am in the suburbs. I regret working here so much because now I can't look at this place with anything but disdain.
I work with troubled teens as a caretaker, in the heavy end of the scale, suicides, rapes and knives to the throat are not unheard of.
Trading options and futures while training for sport full time. Live with my parents for max comfy and min rent.
stage manager, production manager, technical director for live events, theatre, concerts etc.
been doing it for close to 20yrs now. i've met some really famous people (musicians mostly)
I've encountered some of those in my time working there. I'm sure some truly envy the youth they now lack, but over time I realized for most it was because they were full of regret.
Most of them would say I worked at yadda yadda for 30-40 years, retired. Maybe worked else where or traveled during early retirement. And now they spend all of that money they saved up just so they can rot away in a retirement village. To be surrounded by other superficial and regretful old people, nurse aids who are underpaid and in return only give halfhearted service, and to be ignored by the assholes children and grandchildren they brought into this dreadful world.
What a fantastic existence we all have here in the 21st century......
part time passenger services agent. basically just escort people from planes to arrivals and the other way around if they ask for or need it
Out of curiosity are you with WFG or Transamerica?
Don't kill yourself mate, at least let me hook you up with auto/home insurance
I went to high school and college at the same time, got my high school diploma at the same time as my associates. After that I went to a university, within about a day I realized there was way more potential as a stock broker and insurance agent. I guess you could say I went for 4 years and a couple weeks, but to me it only felt like I was there for those couple weeks
I am $11K in debt with student loans and about $8K in other debt. Insurance is the last thing on my mind.
What state are you in? Part of what I do with financial services involves getting people out of debt
Ohio. But I can't even hold a job down, so I have no money to work with. I've basically been paying debt with debt.
ah fair enough. Good for you for having that realization only a few weeks in, it take some people their whole 4 years to figure that out. If i was in it for the money i'd probably do the same thing as you. I guess I'm just actually really passionate about what I'm studying for once in my life and whatever jobs ensue after these 4 years, even if they're not the most lucrative, i think i'd still be happy as long as it was related to my degree.
