who /looking forward to memedorne crash and burn/ here? can't wait tbhfam.

kmag, probaly

tfw Daz is really sick and has Alzheimers

Just remapped by Octavia's ECU lads; 215bhp now. Can I give Mclelren Honda a run for their money?

At least there's GP2

Malaysia will be a MWL borefest or A HOLY LIVING SHIT THERE IS A BIT OF RAIN AND DESPITE THE EXTENSIVE TRACK RESURFACING AND REDESIGNING, IT IS TIME TO START THE RACE BEHIND A SAFETYCAR WE WOULDNT WANT ANOTHER BIANCHI WOULD WE

6th for triggered autists

oh fuck you just reminded me they reprofiled some of it. was one of the better tracks, are there pics of the changes?

/f1/ - canada wanted to post this OP so he made a new thread #44 posts in advance edition

DLETE THRAD

which is more autistic: making a new thread 50 posts early or complaining about it? hard to say 2bh

making a new threads 50 posts early and complaining people don't like it

Here is the explanations

youtube.com/watch?v=2ufoRMk-AhE

youtube.com/watch?v=S376okq8QRE

Pretty much just useless shit

>final turn is off camber :DD

So the final sector of the track is now

>one of the worst corners on the calendar
>into non-eventful esses
>into T14 (i think) which is THE WORST corner on the calendar (and off camber and just total shit)
>into AWESOME REPROFILED TURN 15 to make it even shitter, two off camber corners in a row :DD this makes for exciting racing :DD

Why do they not have a barrier afixed to the tractor? Just have it bolted to all four sides, and have it on a leveling system, so it sits a few inches above the ground.

I mean you'd end up with a wider tractor, and have a need for a longer arm to remove it. But having a barrier to hit will at least stop the car from going under the JCB.

Better yet why not only bring out the tractor when the race is neutralised so no one can ever hit the tractor?

Or just don't bring one onto the track when its raining niggers and cars :D

Or just invest or rent one big fuck you crane vehicle with like a 25 meter crane and then use that from beyond the track boundaries

but nah instead reinvent the rules and destroy the sport, dont forget to never admit you're wrong and force through a terrible halo design, 4 incident free seasons after the one fatal accident in the last 25 years of the sport

I think they should extract cars using helicopters.

Nothing could possible go wrong with that.

>that's the first time something's ever gone wrong

Well then they throw a safety car, then decide to let the lapped runners through, then wait for them to catch up, and the challenge of the conditions (assuming this was wet) is all gone.

Honestly, why can't they just drop to the back of the grid, and then just have a lap removed.

That's a rule I could never make sense of. I mean considering the speed delta (and implying there's no delta in the VSC sense backmarkers have to obey to when doing their catch up lap) it would take a considerable time for them to get back to the end of the pack and prolong the SC period longer than it has to. It's stupid.

That's unfair on fuel consumption.

Imagine a duel between two back markers. Backmarker A and B

B gets lapped by the leader and just then the safety car comes out.

The safety car picks up the leader meaning A drives round and forms at the back of the pack.

In the current rules B would drive round and join up at the back of the pack.
Instead in your case B is dropped to the back of pack, loses a lap and is essentially lapped by the driver he was just battling with.

But this is exactly what the VSC is made for. If it's a simple car removal without the need for repairs, then just activate VSC for a few laps and get the car out of there. VSC is basically just a heavily enforced full course yellow without a safetycar, therefore faster as you don't need to go through the whole safetycar episode.

But then they would have a laps worth of extra fuel which is a huge advantage blah blah and then we would see stupid shit like cars about to be lapped intentionally going a lap down to get that advantage and it would just be a huge clusterfuck

Better idea is to let the lapped cars pass earlier, and just tell them "hey look out for that crash in that place where the crash happened so slow down there but push enough that you'll catch the safetycar within a lap or two

I didn't think about this one really.

Maybe I messed up my explanation, but Driver A would drive around to the back of the pack, and Driver B which was lapped, would simply fall to the end train, and it's lapped status would be removed.

I should have probably said, it would have a lap added to it, so it would be back on the lead lap if it was it's first time being lapped.

With the VSC, they have a set sector time they have to meet? Or does it just activate a limiter like the pit speed limiter. Honestly most of the time we have a VSC it goes full SC, except for Austin I think?

>With the VSC, they have a set sector time they have to meet?
Yes, though I think it's a lap time. In any case, modern trickery means the drivers just have to follow the delta on the dash.

reformat that shit mate

stoopid facking laef

They should just do a FCY like in WEC. Looks silly, but gets the job done and is the fairest of all means to slow down a race

what's the difference between FCY and VSC?

I think the only difference is that race control comes over the radio and says "FCY in 10...9...8...(etc)...FCY" and then "green flag in 10...9...8..."

i can't remember if the cars have to stick to a km/h limit instead of a delta as in f1 though

In WEC when there's a FCY all the cars are limited to 80km/h on the entire lap. Like this, the gaps between cars remain the same and there is no need for a SC.
With the VSC in F1 there are always some drivers who gain an advantage in some "magical" way and get away with it. ow that's possible when they all have to maintain the same delta, I don't know. I think the system isn't waterproof yet. And it's all just more complicated than simply limiting the cars to 80km/h.

they should go one further in f1, and for double-yellow sectors there should be the same speed limit (maybe up it to 100km/h just for fun)

>rosberg with Geert Wilders hair.

isn't the whole point of VSC and Safety car so the safety car can adapt it's speed and adjust the pace of all the cars to keep it safe but also pick up speed so the cars can keep their tires warm
a flat 80km/h would mean all the tires would be dead cold by the time they get to race again

this is why Safety cars fuck up occasionally because they're pushing fairly hard to give the drivers enough speed to keep tires warm

that doesn't seem to be a problem in WEC, and if so, it's the same for everyone.

tbf wec has better tyres

grid benulties for mclelen in sepang, ladettes
hondo is bringing new engines

But why tho? New engines usually blow up for them, maybe they can find a really good unit that's just broken in right from 2015 and complete a full race with both cars.

Modern Apple isn't a e s t h e t i c it's just aesthetic. Which is pretty boring desu.

oh god no

Schumacher School of Fashion and Design is GOAT

Hulkenberg is looking to continue that legacy soon enough

Seriously though what is it with German "fashion" and "music" trends. I've never seen so much bad clothing and objectively bad music (shit-tier industrial metal, bad power metal and bad hard rock played by 45 year old caricatures)

What is wrong with Germans?

>Schumi

>What is wrong with Germans?
They want to be retarded spergs but they're ARYAN PRIDE won't let them.

Will Hulkenberg ever get a good car to drive?

Will Schumacher ever wake up?

but will the car be made with an aluminum unibody?

>ballast for top teams to equalise the grid

Thank you, Heretic

inb4 the sprint race is like sandbagging central and available on youtube to try to draft people into dropping a ludicrous amount of cash to listen to crofty's rambling for hours

what if Liberty somehow removes Croft?

praise the mustachio'd lord

>sprint
>non-points event
>in the current era of muh 4 power units

not that any of that will ever happen, teams don't want it and they'll just veto everything

Apple is considering to buy carmaker McLaren

>Apple famously has a car department, codenamed "Project Titan," but the company has never confirmed that it is in fact working on an electric car or self-driving software.
>An investment or purchase in McLaren would give Apple an injection of racing technology, as well as a team of automotive-focused engineers.

motoringresearch.com/car-news/apple-buy-mclaren-automotive

I can't wait for the iCar v1.0 from Apple-Honda in the 2018 F1 Season.

they're only going to buy the McLaren Automotive branch of McLaren though, the F1 Team is a subdivision of McLaren Racing.

that is idiotic

>tfw too poor for a 4K Television right now

4k is a meme
sky just wants more money to line murdoch's pockets

All the poor people I know have massive, expensive televisions.

I doubt there is a council house in the country with a television smaller than 50 inch in it.

does this chase guy even like f1? isn't he just a figurehead like bernie?

>4k is a meme

Not really but the supply is still pretty shit, only a handful of new movies get released on 4K blu-ray, Amazon Prime has no 4K available and Netflix only got some of their own Shows in 4K, Television is slowly starting to get into 4K as seen by the Sky announcement. 4K gaming is on the horizon with the PS4 Pro and Xbox Scorpio.

I'd wait at least another year before buying a 4K TV.

yeah but those are all probably some shitty HiSense chinese televisions with a 720p panel at 50 inches.

New York formula e circuit
not as bad as I was expecting

Are you guys speculating, or is there an actual link with these concepts lined out for the future of Formula One
>please don't let it be real

invest in a 4k pc monitor instead if you want 4k gaming

looks like a vacuum cleanaer

>Pit Lane Half Way round circuit
>No place to put grandstands in interesting viewing points
>Not near any major landmarks
>New York

The fact that such things are even being discussed makes me quite convinced that the dude just spent 4 billion buying something he doesn't understand.

Celebrity driver appearances? Like Celebs would just show up and be able to race F1? what le fug :DD

even if a celebrity was a car enthusiast they would

>crash and get injured
>get lost in 10000 engine modes
>finish last (guaranteed)
>not be able to complete a full race distance because they aren't in the physical shape required

i mean fuck why am i even trying with this, its the most retarded thing ive ever heard

worse. polaroid or blaupunkt, kek.

read the image. my trips post was speculation, but will happen.

So Long Beach when F1 raced there?

Guys it is fake

Anderstorp also used to have a pitlane midway round the circuit. What confuses me more is that the start-finish straight seems to be between turns 5 and 6.

Also, nobody cares about Formula E, so they wouldn't close a part of Manhattan or something for an ePrix. Even F1 would have difficulties doing something like that. The "New York" Grand Prix was supposed to be in New Jersey.

It's not a serious proposal, he's doing the same thing as Bernie: saying something outrageous to create press

the start line is before turn 1, the finish line is by the pitlane

Buenos Aires was the same and i think another FE circuit

it's like that because the finish line has to be directly by race control, which has to be in the pitlane, but the finish straight is too short for the race starts

Oh

Welp I fell for that bait hard.

As is the news on McLaren.

>Yfw 8 tea times, 8 bongs, 34 bings till fp1

how does Cred Forums like Frog's girl of the week?

wagfag thinks she is alright.

McLaren news aren't fake but they're just a rumour at this time.

I read somewhere that Chase Carey would consider adding another race in the United States in order to grow the American audience, and the only other FIA Grade 1 circuit is Indianapolis. Would the changes that have been made to the Indianapolis road course (led to some better racing in Indycar at least) lead to a better race?

Pic related, new layout on bottom. No more banked curves and a far less snake-like infield.

Watkins Glen. Cannot find the article from a month back, but Whiting/FIA want to make it happen.

Watkins Glen would be my choice, but they'd have to do some kind of renovations to make it Grade 1. Then again I don't know what kind of financial shape they're in.

Of course, whatever we're doing is only an extension on top of what electrical engineers do, sometimes using bits by mechanical engineers and more. We're on the top hierarchical level, usually working with abstract concepts whereas "real" engineers would work with actual matter. Besides, I'm fully aware that many people claiming to be software engineers only really build websites with slow as shit javascript frameworks and pretend it's actual software craftsmanship.

>1. 1st opinion HAM person
I was at his first F1 race. Oversold the "dream" thing in the constant Vodafone ads they played trackside. Confident in himself if he told Ron Dennis he would drive for him at age 11. Could tell he would be F1 driver at some point since first reading about him in 1999.
>2. 1st opinion HAM driver
One of most prepared F1 rookies of all time, with 3000km under his belt before season started. Pace relative to Alonso was exaggerated by Fred joining a new team in Jan 2007, adjusting from Michelin to Bridgestone tyres, which all drivers that changed over 06-07 weren't at ease with. That said, fared better than I thought he would, but you were hardly going to do badly with top 2 car.
>3. Currently think of HAM person
Arrogant overrated wanker, o/hyped + bandwagon fans. Commentary about him unbearable. Hangs out with the Biebers, Kanyes and Kardashians makes him a total sell out and douchebag. Acts like everyone beneath him.
>4. Currently think of HAM driver
Playing tennis with net down. Would rank Alonso, Ricciardo, Vettel and even Verstappen above him. Race craft is getting rusty because Merc god mode is activated, and hasn't really had to scrap with many drivers. Played up by the media for doing things that his machinery should be more than capable of.
>5. HAM improve person
Has cool dogs. That said, if I had to hang out with him I'd have a same facial expression as Roscoe. Poor pooch.
>6. HAM improve driver
Except for portions of this year, generally has Rosberg's measure. To be expected when Merc bought him as a marquee driver off McLaren. I mean, Webber kicked Britney's arse in 2006 and even Schumacher 2.0 had some good days against him.
>7. HAM lower person
The posing, the arrogance and generally being pretty fake.
>8. HAM lower driver
Nothing is ever his fault. The shit he says over radio. Wannabe Senna when not worthy. 2011 crasher. F1 went to his head within a few races, and he has acted like King Shit ever since.

The UK is truly the most Reddit country in the world

Not sure about that

Races, not championships. Jenson managed wins in 2010, 2011, 2012 as well. They were all one of the top 3 cars in the field. Better odds than most F1 drivers get.

Vipers suck

Diablo best Lambo tho

The funny thing is, the Viper is the most reliable car out of them.

WEC is objectively better then F1 though and has rising viewership, whereas F1 is falling. Inherently the only reason closed wheel doesn't work is because safety; hence the holes over the wheels.

> he doesn't use a space cadet keyboard

AWL was pretty shite but Porsche vs Audi ft. Toyota crashes has been pretty great.

>Porsche vs Audi

>enjoying formula volkswagen

Sprint > Endurance

We just need parity that's all f1 needs.
GP2 weekends basically make the whole experience of the weekend better than anything else out there anyway.
If FOM actually knew what it was doing and really paired and sold F1 and GP2 as a joint experience and paid for GP2 to come along for every weekend you'd have the boy racer racing/action/allaboutthedriver/racecraft of GP2 and then the big boy manufacturer-dickwaging/ WWE-but-in-cars-drama /memes /techporn / autism of F1.
Literally everyone would be satisfied.
They should then force the big teams to sponsor a junior GP2 team too and roll that GP2 team into their self-promotion.

Now here's where shit gets real....
The sponsor or parent F1 team of the GP2 racer that wins the GP2 championship.... gets to field a 3rd car on the grid (that earns half points for the constructor) the next season for that champion to drive in the following f1 season.
So now you have a KINO-tier series of racing that constantly has fresh top-tier meat put into it by these teams trying to get that super valuable 3rd car on the grid.
So every weekend we have GPKino with hungry boy-rockets pushed on by hungry f1 teams for our wheel-to-wheel race craft fix.
Then we have the grizzled veterans and top men of the sport racing in cars that are pushing the boundaries of human technology as mercenaries for large sports car companies and caffeinated sugar water conglomerates in their who-can-blow-the-biggest-budget-on-meme-technology dick wagging.

Different hybrids, different engines. Porsche is also basically ran as a separate company. Hence we don't have Skoda Cayman's. They make the SUV's and A8-clone to satisfy the autists and accountants at VAG, and fund making the Boxster not shit.

>The sponsor or parent F1 team of the GP2 racer that wins the GP2 championship.... gets to field a 3rd car on the grid (that earns half points for the constructor) the next season for that champion to drive in the following f1 season.
this is dumb as all hell

>The sponsor or parent F1 team of the GP2 racer that wins the GP2 championship.... gets to field a 3rd car on the grid (that earns half points for the constructor) the next season for that champion to drive in the following f1 season.

tfw entire season of MWL podium lock out

>Sprint > Endurance
Sprint is just easier to watch, but even so, WEC has rising viewership.

But I'm saying, people get asshurt about the X2010 or McLaren/Ferrari concepts that have wheel enclosures and closed cockpits. Realistically though, open wheel and open cockpit are inherently slower, so why do people want F1 to be slower? That's also the reason for the Halo, because it's open, but it's also useless and stupid. Safety is just a byproduct imo.

Open wheel made sense when the bodies were steel/aluminium because the added weight wasn't worth it, but now with CF bodies and wind tunnel aero, LMP1's are just about as fast, with engines that are run at high power for longer periods of time.

So then watch WEC instead of trying to make F1 in to WEC?

Pretty fucking simple.

You're a bit of a simple cunt aren't you?

F1 is slower then it needs to be, often boring as fuck to watch and less and less people care. WEC cars should logically be slower, but they aren't always. Indy cars are faster in a straight line, and if they had F1 chassis they would probably be faster around a circuit. F1 teams spend millions of dollars and they're not much faster then LS1's in the back of a GP2 car. Indy cars aren't even really closed wheel, but people flip the fuck out about it.

There's no good reason why MUH OPEN WHEEL is even a thing; it's not even safer. Why do faggots complain about it so much? It clearly works for just about every other motorsport.

If GP2 is kino, and WEC is film, F1 should be Movie, but it's now become Suicide Squad level Flick-tier.

When WEC runs a sprint series F1 dies

That sounds shit.

The top feeder series shouldn't be spec.
It needs to be there to try and help promote teams to F1.
Hopefully the new F2 should fix that.

Exactly. I think people want F1 to be faster and more competitive, and it's not just down to closed wheels/cockpits, but definitely all that modern technology that LMP1 has and F1 doesn't have, make F1 slower.

Honestly if I got booed on the podium, I'd be pretty tempted to flick everyone off.

What would the penalty be for doing that? I know ted would probably die.

Probably a 5k fine or something if he was unlucky. Hamilton or Verstappen wouldn't get anything probably.

Just a bunch of presenters apologizing profusely on your behalf

Nico should do this. He won't but he fucking should next time he get's booed, as it's going to happen at some point again.

No it was well done

He's too autistic. Vettel might, Kimi will and I'm sure I've seen Hamilton pause and probably wonder if he should.

Honestly I'm not sure why people boo Rosberg. In 2013 people were booing Vettel but not Webber. Rosberg and Webber are/were no2 drivers, so you can see them as underdogs, but for whatever reason Webber had public favor whereas Rosberg didn't.

imo Webber was slightly better, but inb4 >this flag

Reminder that Damon Hill gave MSC a penalty for this, even though Alonso was ahead, before the Safety Car Line, under green flags, after the FIA brought the Safety Car in.

Well I think it started at Spa 2014 which was fucking bullshit, then again at COTA 2015 after the hat tossing. Now it's just shit Dutch fans, who basically need to be banned forever. I guess the Italian's were just bored.

f1 btfo by liberty ceo greg maffei:

>They really have no organised digital effort

will he ever recover? ;_;

It was happening throughout 2015, but moreso at specific races and less at some. ie Singaporeans have no spine so they don't boo anyone.

It's one of the races I stopped to grab some food mid race so maybe, but it was probably because I watched Le Mans before so tired and still smug about that last lap.
I remember Hungary as being extra boring, and Monza.

I don't have a lot of memories of Vettel vs Webber, but maybe it has to do with the amount of crashes between the two mercs, a fair share of which can be attributed to Nico making mistakes. There was of course some amplification by Sky (putting nico hit me in the fucking intro for example) that may trouble a few BESTFANS really just looking to get mad at people.

>Liberty boss says gambling could boost F1's future income

motorsport.com/f1/news/liberty-boss-says-gambling-could-boost-f1-s-future-income-829177/

IMO Nico should have got out earlier or just committed to 'nico hit me'

I think Vettel's boo's (which he still got in 2014 and I think 2015) were more because people were sick of VWL and less about Webber getting robbed or Alonso/Ferrari losing etc.

Our new American overlords should introduce an entry draft in F1.

>why people boo Rosberg
it was both don't forget to turn incidents
causing boo'ing in the following races

hamilton got boo'd in austria remember because people still thought it was his fault at the time so rosberg got counter boo'd in britain then boo'd by ves fans for performing that move on verstappen

italians literally boo anyone not in ferrari
just google Monza Podiums and they boo everyone but the ferrari's or ex-ferrari drivers every year, every time, it's just monza

also hamilton has been boo'd every time he's stepped on that podium in monza and he's won it 3 times and been up there i think double that

...

>having another shit series where there's no parity
GP2 is only good because it's spec.
F1 proves non-spec racing is terrible.
there hasn't been a single bad year of GP2

>non-spec racing is terrible

Holy fuck you're a faget

You are literally the stupidest

>post yfw Prostberg and Choco Senna take each other out at Suzuka

you know its going to happen, for publicity/memes/scripted mandrama on wheels reasons

He got booed because he was the pantomime villain, same with Vettel.

His singing in Monza, strong victory in Singapore and fighting Hamilton will have turned that round.

I'd be far more amused if Hamilton somehow ends up in the wall at Imola.

I was saying RosBoorg...

But then, who becomes the villain? Ves for driving like a bitch and then complaining when people do the same?

But has the halo been tested against these trophy of death?

Anyone seen or post Riccy's dream track thing?
Any thoughts on it?

Most likely.

please put F1 related stuff in the thumbnail the next time

If it pisses of the dutch and gets them out of the sport, I hope so.

Just a regular Finnish guy.

I remember reading this story about him in the Reader's Digest. He and his wife Jenni were going to have this big evening dinner party at their fancy house in Switzerland. Jenni foolishly let Kimi do the cooking while she went out to do God knows what. She came back home just before the guest were to arrive and found out that Kimi had cooked fish sticks with smashed potatoes - without peeling the fucking potatoes. Jenni of course went completely ballistic but Kimi just shrugged his shoulders and said that the potato skin has all the vitamins, it's better that way.

He's fine, just not the kind of guy I'd really want to be friends with. His popularity and success have somewhat gotten to his head and his time at Mercedes has really not been good for him, but there are far more problematic drivers out there.

>4
Tier 2. He's gotten considerably worse since 2012, and Rosberg actually keeping him honest even occasionally is not something that should happen to a driver with this many championships. Right now I think Vettel, Raikkonen, Ricciardo, Verstappen, Bottas, Wehrlein and Perez at the very least are equal or better than him, and in my eyes he's gone from being one of the all-time top 10 drivers to below the top 20, if not worse. He's no Senna. The only top driver who's had a harder fall from grace is Alonso.

I always wondered, what was the point of having it an official F1 race when there was virtually no one from the usual points field in the race?
>it was in the 50s/early 60s, right?

Yeah. I have no idea really. Probably no one wanted to fly half the way across the world to going around a rounded square for hours.

WHO IS MAKING THIS YEAR'S MEME COLLAGE?

>posting the retarded leafs reddit version

I wonder what it feels like to be a good F1 driver but stuck in shit cars for 10+ years

(and then, as in Brundle's case, finally get into a race winner only to be teammates with someone like Schumi)

>for as much as people rag on him
They do? He's usually highly rated, and rightly so.

My bad. This one just looks so incomplete and sad, the other one is ruined though

>They do?
plebs who see 150+ grand prix starts but 0 (zero) wins

It's just because of the stats, honestly, just looking at the Sky commentators, I think Brundle had more talent the Herbert, and Hill.

Yet Herbert had two wins (both actually because Hill hit Schumi), and Hill a WDC.

It's got to be a terrible feeling, especially with the actual physical toll it took on him though the years. From time to time, he's a bit biased, but honestly, I do wish he had one win at least. He had some pretty good drives, like in 94 at Monaco in the terrible Mclaren Peugeot which was seconds away from oil starvation following Schumi home.

Speaking of which he came second in a Road to LeMans race I think this year, and when he raced with his son a while ago he wasn't too slow at LeMans.

Wait Sorry.

Herbert also won in 99 at Germany for Stewart.

Anyone who says they wouldn't is a straight up liar

why hasn't anyone come along to usurp Alonso as the "Best on the Grid" yet, and can he be considered among the absolute Greats with only two (2) championships?

>hasn't won a 'ship in a decade
>hasn't won a race in three years
>still thinks it's his grid

Honestly, I don't think there is a clear-cut "Best Driver" right now. Just going by form, I'd have to say Ricciardo, but he needs more and better results to back up that claim.

Jim Clark is also an all time great and has 2, same as ascari, mansell is also there having won only 1, hakkinen.... the list goes on

>americans
absolute cringe

>why hasn't anyone come along to usurp Alonso as the "Best on the Grid" yet

Arguably Hamilton did at least match him, but sadly we never got to see them really battle properly after 2007/8 thanks to such prolonged eras of car domination. I know that's just a part of what F1 is, but with Alonso's career starting to draw to a close it does seem a bit of a tragedy.

>can he be considered among the absolute Greats with only two (2) championships?

Shit yes, for exactly the same reason as above. In fact you could say his one great weakness was picking teams at the right times (whereas that's Vettel's only talent, and look how far it's taken him).

>Mansell
lol, he isn't an all-time great, not for Top 10 all-time consideration anyways. also, he was an idiot drama queen whiny babby. fuck him

Mansell only gets rated so highly because British media dominates the sport.

That re-make was great all the way until they ran out of ideas about 80% of the way through.

>Jim Clark is also an all time great and has 2, same as ascari
both died, and it was a very different sport before ~1980, back when careers were much shorter for various reasons

>mansell is also there having won only 1, hakkinen.... the list goes on
great, sure (mansell less so imo), but not at the very top of the list

i know most of us have grown up with SchumiWinsLol, then VettelWinsLol, and now LewisWinsLol, but being 2x WDC is a great accomplishment in its own right that the vast majority of good drivers don't come close to achieving

Also you need to make it in a lot tighter package because we want to lower drag, did I mention it develops fuckloads of heat? Oh, and before I forget, when this inevitably goes to shit we're gonna blame you every step of the way, even though our chassis somehow turned out to be a dragbox despite the size zero concept. And don't you fucking dare try to make some money by selling to other teams!

Idk who's more retarded, Ron Dennis for suggesting this, or Honda for agreeing to it.

Honda would have thought they could do it. They have experience and all that jazz

Face it m8, all champions in the modern era are carbabbys

>* Launch control was legal at the time. The false start detection system had electric "loops" under the car. When the green went out, they turned off. Enstone figured this out, and used a sensor to watch for them to turn off, and when they did, the car launched. This is why both Renault's usually jumped a grid row at the start, not the "rearward weight bias design" they claimed at the time.

I have such nostalgia for Sepang. Every time we go back I'm reminded of Jenson Button's RELENTLESS performance at the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix. I knew right then and there that he would win the 2009 WDC, as he drove that ailing Brawn through the torrential rain in a drive that put the combined efforts of Fangio, Senna, Prost, and Schumi all to shame. Amazing to think that he was still TWO YEARS from his prime, winning the 2011 Canadian GP. IMO that was the greatest single season performance of any driver, ever, and I doubt anyone will ever be able to match the statistical domination of Mr. Jenson Button MBE.

It's absolutely pathetic that the man was never picked up by a powerhouse team like Ferrari or Red Bull. He would've put Vettel in his place and pounded his boipussy, just like he's done to his teammate every year. With such driving prowess, I can only assume that they made him an offer and, being the true Englishman he is, Button decided he'd rather rebuild his ailing childhood heroes, Mclaren.

Nonetheless, I would expect big things from Button this weekend. Sepang is a real CHASSIS track and I'd bet Mclaren has the best one on the grid. Nothing short of a top 5 in quali would be acceptable. For the race, a podium is on the cards for sure. Just look at the stats this season. Rosberg won every race until Jenson put the Mclaren in the points, and since then hes only won once. He's in Rosbergs head, got that PSYCHOLOGICAL advantage, and will blow the kid the fuck out when they go wheel to wheel. He's gonna be gunning for the win, I'm sure of it. Honestly, the only question I have about this weekend is whether or not Lewis Hamilton can handle racing with a REAL BRITON.

That time was truly a GOAT era for the sport. All because they didn't have the stupid cost cutting rules. Yeah there wasn't meme overtaking, and it was harder, but the teams were closer, and the teams could actually catch up.

Honestly, this sounds harsh but if the small teams can't make it, then they just can't make it. The sport is expensive, and well maybe more money could be given to the smaller teams to help them along. Possibly a fund that can in certain circumstance situations, can help save a team from bankruptcy. But the cost cutting is just crap, these teams have the money, and being forced year after year to have only two or three months to go full attack is hard, sure they could do a Brawn and skip a year and just work on the next, but many to go with no results is really demotivating.

When was the last time F1 cars were good looking, and why was it 2008 before the "Shark Fin" bullshit?

I was always quite fond of the 2004 cars, they weren't too fiddly, and looked really sexy.

Post countries that used to be great.

Carlos Reutemann was the last competitive argentine driver back in the 70s and early 80s. After him, Argentina failed to produce any other decent drivers.

2002-2008 produced the best looking cars, close second is 1988-1994, third is 1995-2001.

What I like about Argentina is that even though they don't have F1 drivers anymore, they still love motorsport and go to races.

Brazilian motorsport died even though we still have F1 drivers, just because they don't win anymore.
