It might also be worth watching the KHL, I am getting into hockey too from last season but 95% of NHL games start at midnight or later whereas KHL games are on at much more reasonable times and the quality of hockey it still bretty gud and entertaining.

Also another advantage of the KHL is it's way less comercialised and there's basically no advert breaks except for during the intermission, I watch all the games at "onhockey.tv"
