Cred Forums what is worse in quality of the games and general skill, American "soccer" or European basketball?

Amerifat soccer

There are many yuropoors in the NBA that have actually had good careers

That's not really relevant to OPs question now is it

Euro basketball. thats if you're talking about "basketball that's played in europe"

How many countries in Europe have pro basketball leagues? I'm guessing no more than 3-4. American soccer is probably better.

American "soccer" is better mate.

No but it shows euro basketball players are relatively better

Euro basket by far.

MLS is a fucking disgrace, and while euro basketball can't come close to competing with NBA, MLS is even further from competing with even mid-tier European soccer leagues, let alone competing with EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga, etc.

Lol wut,Greece,Italy,Spain,France,Germany,Belgium,Croatia,Slovakia,Slovenia,Poland,Latvia,Lithuania,Russia and probably some more

fun fact, Dirk Nowitzki is better at football than any american.

>apehoop
>quality

Depends on how you look at it.
There are a lot of really good European basketball players playing in the NBA.

But if you compared European basketball clubs, then the USMNTĀ® would be better.

>reading comprehension

Dunno, NBA washouts regularly rekt Yuro leagues.

European basketball actually has superb technical quality, better coaching and defending than NBA. The only this is that the athletes are much better in the NBA (black)

I know literally nothing but euro basketball but always assumed it was a decent standard.

kinda like
NBA = Champions League, all the big dogs Barca, Bayern etc
Euro BB = Europa League, small dogs but not bad teams, Feyenoord, Schalke etc

This, Euro basketball players have very strong fundamentals and tactics wise they are very good as well, it is just that they're mostly white and not as athletic as NBA players.

Euroleague is pretty enjoyable. Its far away from NBA quality, mostly due to the athletic difference, but the games are still respectable.

The MLS however feels like its being played by literal amateurs. Its fucking embarassing.

the U S A almost beat world champGermany (a team) had Wondo not choked while America steamrolls any opponent in FIBA and Olympics.

almost every coutnry but britain has a decent to good pro league in terms of follow, money and quality of player/team
it's the most followed sport in the balts, Greece, Spain, Russia and Turkey have the best leagues, then we have Germany, Italy, France, Serbia, Croatia... all countries where basketball is relevant (2nd/3rd most followed sport)

Euro basketball is surely better than american soccer

Dirk is the best white basketball player in history, maybe second after Bird, no America football player is even in the top 500 best football players.

Pulisic might get there someday tho 2bh

>Dirk is the best white basketball player in history, maybe second after Bird
>maybe

He is solidly entrenched behind Bird, there is no debate. Your overall point is correct though.

If you think america is bad you should see india

>Giovinco
>best MLS player ever

Eurobasket is easy mode, they move the 3 point line in and have meme rules that make it really easy for shitty players to look good. They are basically playing USA women's rules in Europe.

It would be comparable to MLS playing on pitches the size of futsal pitches and then claiming it's a great league in terms of skill because they score 10 goals a match.

If Yuros played by NBA rules, you would have 40-35 final scores in borefests with shitty Turks bricking 3s all day.

nobody ever claimed Euro basketball leagues were even comparable to NBA
but they do produce a lot more talent for the NBA than MLS does for euro soccer leagues

almost every decent euro NT has multiple NBA players

My point is that you can't judge the skill or quality of Eurobasket because the rules aren't comparable, it isn't the same sport.

And plenty of "great" European players, who dominated their league, have come to the NBA and been absolute shit. Sure, some guys have made it and become big stars, but most guys have failed miserably.

On the other hand, every benchwarming loser on an NBA team who decides to move overseas almost automatically becomes the best player in his league and proceeds to dominate.

The skill gap between the EPL and MLS is much smaller than the skill gap between the NBA and whatever the current best European bball league is.

>And plenty of "great" European players, who dominated their league, have come to the NBA and been absolute shit. Sure, some guys have made it and become big stars, but most guys have failed miserably.
it's exactly the same for MLS players, except most are not even good enough to try and play here
and not a single MLS player has ever come to Europe and leave alone becoming stars, the never even managed to become starters for a decent club
Pulisic is hyped up to no end and he's not even a starter in a team who's not even in the top 10 for winning the CL

>On the other hand, every benchwarming loser on an NBA team who decides to move overseas almost automatically becomes the best player in his league and proceeds to dominate.

Sebastian Giovinco is considered the best player in MLS
lots of retiring players who just couldn't handle real football anymore go to MLS and still shine

Euro basketball is shit, you can have plebs like Rudy Fernandez look like steph curry when in the NBA he was nothing. There's a reason most overseas players bust
