Hey guys I'm from Maryland and UMD is my team.

AFAIK they haven't done anything since the 50s but there are a few alums: Boomer Esiason who I hate because he had a huge game against the Redskins, Vernon Davis who still holds a lot of their weight/conditioning records (my old college strength coach was his strength coach for a couple of years and he showed me his name on the boards) and Darrius Heyward-Bey who is just fast.

So anyway they get no coverage but I saw in the Washington Post that they are 3-0. Do they have a chance to be ranked this year?

as a Michigan fan, I would probably pay $1,000 for a win over MSU (mostly because I think the good guys will win it no matter what this year), and probably $5,000 for a win over OSU. if Michigan and OSU are playing for a spot in the B1G championship game, I would maybe go up to $10,000.

oh yeah and for this hypothetical you can't claim responsibility. so you as an individual won't be worshipped as a savior or whatever.

If you look at it from a recruiting standpoint and from a media footprint standpoint, the Big 12 should be looking at Southern Miss (ACC too, if they ever decide to expand to 16 teams). They have a resume of past success and future potential that many G5 programs don't have, especially east of the Mississippi.

The ACC actually wouldn't be a bad fit for USM. They and Florida State had a sort of rivalry game going once upon a time, and the Eagles also have a history of playing Louisville as well, with shorter series against Virginia, Virginia Tech, and NC State.

We did. We listened to SEC-associated faggots who advised us to hire a longtime SEC defensive coordinator for a head coach. A guy who had never produced a winning season as a head coach. A real old school "smash mouth football" kinda guy. And because the older donors in the circle of influence with our athletic department basically equate anything to do with the SEC with success, they hired the guy on the spot. And of course he took a team that was 12-2 with wins in the C-USA championship and their bowl game in 2011, and drove it into the ground in 2012. He ground our passing game to a halt, and tried to run a SEC offense with a run almost every play. Before Ellis Johnson USM ran a very versatile spread and was quick and hard hitting on defense. It's how we snapped Houston BCS bid in 2011. Watching games in 2012 was like watching molasses run.

That being said, USM has rebounded. Recruiting is back in proper form and we went 9-5 last year, on track for a 11-1 or 10-2 finish in the regular season this year.

UT is at the top of my list. We would still have Nebraska, Colorado, Texas Am and Mizzou if it wasn't for those fucks

Also Kansas State was in the Big 8, only a piece of shit would even have them at #3 to "kick out of the big 12"

Personally, no. I feel like the program and most of the fanbase were ready for FBS.

The 3 consecutive FCS championships and the Michigan win were fun, but the fanbase grew restless for a bigger pond. The FCS playoffs got a little monotonous after a while.

I went to our first ever bowl game (and win) in December, and the atmosphere was electric - like new life was breathed into the program.

I do wish we had gotten ESPN GameDay in Boone like NDSU has gotten (they even went to the James Madison/Richmond game last season for christsake.)

However, NDSU can have their fun - I hope they win 10 in a row. >We are happy to be playing with the big boys now.

Speaking as a biased North Carolinian and ECU fan, I'd like to see any expansion opening in the AAC get filled by App State. App State plays great ball, and has a built in rivalry with ECU just waiting.

Of all the early/founding members of Conference USA, I always loved watching Southern Miss play ECU and Houston. Your fans travelled well and you played damn good football. Plus ECU fans were generally good natured people, even after losses. I miss that game too.

The Pac 12 is by far the worst conference this year, so please note that I don't believe either Stanford or Washington should be in the top 25. That said, I think Stanford beats them by less than 10. The game should be choc full of sloppy play and bad coaching decisions, just like you'd expect out of the Pac 12.

Also, Washington is severely, severely overrated. They would finish 7 - 5 in the Big Ten and maybe 4 - in the SEC. Complete trash.
