It makes no fucking sense to use as a trailerbait line like that, and especially makes no sense in the actual context of the movie.

I think Snyder has read the comics but doesn't give a fuck about pacing or meaning so he just throws his favorite lines and visuals in at random with no concern for if he should or not.

They were less noticeable because the suit was darker. Also, his film was better (not good, but better) than Clooney's.

Look at the use of color, light and shadow. Look at the distressed patterns on the costume. This one poorly cropped still taken from some magazine is more cinematic than the entirety of Civil War.

But both of those movies suck. Watchmen admittedly is not as bad mostly because Snider shot for shot remade most of it; however, the dialog near the end, which is changed from the comic, completely misses the point of the original, and in doing so loses out on any of the literary impact the original work had.
