I think Cred Forums is pretty good. The moderation is a little inconsistent but maybe the rules just need to be clarified. I think a lot are all just not really enforced strongly, so when they do get enforced people really notice them.

I'm not a big fan of generals, but, I've gotten more used to them. On these higher traffic boards with continual conversation about the same things, I guess they make some sense.

hiro is pretty based, I like that he is trying new things out and if they sometimes fail well now we know. Cred Forums is best run as an experiment. If something doesn't work, he can do something else.

I feel like /film/ would only create a second Cred Forums, with the same culture, the same shitposts, and the same problems. /cel/ would take the waifushit off the board, as well as dumb ass youtube garbage (which would also benefit Cred Forums tremendously).

Yes, I wouldn't even mind if the catalog was 90% pure shitposting and porn. At least it would be slow.

Seems like shitposts are faster to pump out than quality ones, I think the problem might be the opposite. You want to have high quality posting standards if the board is to move slower, which might mean cleaning up some of the shitposting.

Sometimes I feel like there should be a Cred Forumsmain and a Cred Forumsgenerals sub catalogs, where the generals are kept separate from the regular posts. Just a thought, not sure how that would work.

The good thing about slow boards is that you can come back to a thread you like and keep discussing things in a relaxed way, no matter how many shitpost threads there are swamping the board.
Now the main worry I have when making a thread about say a movie or director that not many people have seen is how long before I have to bump it because it usually slides down to page 5 after 5 minutes and it's pretty much dead by then.
4-5 years ago Cred Forums used to be so slow that if a thread had a decent amount of activity going you could guarantee that you could go to bed and the thread would still be alive the next day and you could continue discussion. That's pretty much impossible on today's Cred Forums where you need to bump at least every 30 minutes just to keep a thread alive.
On old Cred Forums the waifuists and Disney/Nick pedos would have their own threads and people who wanted to actually discuss things really wouldn't mind them as long as they kept to their own threads because the board was slow enough to make good discussion possible along with the off-topic garbage. That's why old Cred Forums had both tripfags who shitposted constantly (abatap, kaiji, spike) along with people who actually contributed to discussion (bleu, brendsies, old cinebro).

The amount of shitposting alone could be a huge indicator that the worse of the main blue boards is currently leaking into the board, and for some reason, it works on a better scale than Cred Forums. Maybe Cred Forums's userbase is extremely dedicated to its brand.

If they can't do that then /film/ should be made for serious discussion with no off-topic or generalshit, just purely heavy moderated discussion however not to the point where arguments are deleted based on the writers bias, the users should be allowed to point it out for themselves and determine whether or not to take the argument seriously.
