What's the best Hitchcock film?

What's the best Hitchcock film?

It's Rope

Contrarians will say Rope
IMDB plebs will say Vertigo
Although both are fine films, the only real answer is Rear Window

Nigga, you just went full contrarian

Most underrated =/= best

psycho it's shit, why people like it?

Contrarians will say Rope
Directors will say Vertigo
will say Rear Window
The only real answer is Psycho

I honestly don't see what's good about Vertigo. The plot is silly, the acting is not good, it's overexpositive as fuck, the special effects are dated, that Maude character serves no purpose, the direction is nothing incredible. Can someone please enlighten me on why it's considered so great?

Rear Window.

Gene Kelly and James Street in their prime. What more do you want.

If you watch it as if it's a dream, this may elevate it for you.

reaer windowww
this. its so bloated, too. could've been 30 mins shorter.

North by Northwest but Hitchcock in general is pretty overrated shit.

Visually it's his best movie this is a fact. Notice I said visually.

you should watch alfred hitchcock presents. its his best work IMO

Either 39 Steps or the Lady Vanishes

This, the a e s t h e t i c s of Vertigo is off the charts

The best hitchcock film is the one you're not gonna watch because hitchcock a shit

My favorite is usually Psycho, but sometimes it's Vertigo. Depends on which one I saw last, I guess.

>implying it was hitchcock's work

>Vertigo
James Stewart ruins every movie he's in.

That's a pretty trash opinion you've got there.

This is the most objectively wrong statement i have ever heard

You ruin every thread you're in.

I wouldn't go as far as that user, but he is a pretty wooden actor. His performance in Vertigo was dreadful. He was good in Rear Window, though.

Me? I like spellbound

Hitchcock is litterally reddit: the director

NbNW will always be the best. Honorary mention to 39 Steps.

39 Steps

I really don't see this

honestly my favorite is that courtroom drama I forget the name of

rear window

nvm I just wanted a (you)

T H E
B I R D S

also nice dubs dubs

Overrated. You knew the guy was guilty; there was never any doubt. The Simpsons parody had more ambiguity.

1 Vertigo
2 North by Northwest
3 Pyscho
4 Rope
5 Birds
6 Dial M for Murderer
7 Rebecca
8 Saboteur

Rear window is one of the worst.

Rear window is on the bottom

I agree with you OP

actually it seemed too obvious so the best thing was for it to actually be the case. plus the tension mounts to a peak in rear window.
