Absolutely this. Easily one of the most criminally underrated movies of all time. The story is solid and fantastic, the characters are memorable, and the animation is very good. Hell, the main characters are voiced by Christopher Lloyd, Whoopi Goldberg, Patrick Stewart, Leonard Nimoy, and Frank Welker. It's fucking amazing.

>Don't Look Under The Bed is a 1999 Disney Channel Original Movie. It is also the Disney Channel's second and final attempt at a horror film (the first being Tower of Terror) released by Disney (who also created similar themed films such as Something Wicked This Way Comes and The Watcher in the Woods). This film was the first DCOM to be rated TV-PG due to frightening content.

Why couldn't they give McGlitch an australian accent? I rewatched a part of this for the first time ever since then last year and he's just like a hillbilly retard. I didn't remember it that way at all.

It was actually very good. It would have been a very difficult movie to convey in live action. A lot of people don't know that Balto was a real dog just like Hachiko.

I give you that Fievel Goes West is more funny, lots of jokes here and there, I like it a lot, but An American Tail is a far better film by a better director.

How did a lab rat movie got a G rating
+8

The Last Unicorn is fucking great.

The whole harpy scene give me nightmares for months when I was a kid.

the lab parts are only shown in flashbacks, and are comparatively pretty tame
but yeah, there's pretty scary stuff in this movie, like the owl or the assassination plot, not to mention the cuckolding

This thread has made me realize that I need to start buying these movies in case a miracle happens and I have kids some day.

Dinokino

Asterix & Obelix

It was published by Disney, they let it pass through.

Really? Had no idea.

everyone dies

yeah, it's really not edgy either, just kinda dark and cool.

It's really good though that that video of Worthless has been edited. In the actual movie it keeps cutting back to "the Master" in his apartment and the stupid ass TV is trying to get his attention...it really take the piss out of the whole scene.

"It's a B-Movie" is also pretty great.
youtube.com/watch?v=nOeK0Ig-H9g

i didn't like it much, but it was one of the few vhs tapes my poor ass family owned so I watched it dozens of times. it's interesting that john lasseter was involved in the original version of the movie since it's pretty much a worse more depressing attempt at what the Toy Story movies would do both in concept and subject matter

hard to say whether my abandonment anxieties as a kid made me dislike the movie, or whether it caused them

I legitimately feel bad for you.

I love the wiki synopsis for this.

7+ hours and no love.

This movie either made or fed my Romaboo and /his/ love.

As a kid, prude that I was I'd fast forward through the numerous sex scenes in the movie.

Disney's best film. It was the last of the Disney Renaissance movies, it also came out in 1999, it was perfect, a great way to end a great decade. Also, this movie has unbelievable animation.

Sadly they never did anything like this again. And they wont ever again because of CGI. Fuck you Disney ya bunch of greedy kikes.

Neverending Story is probably my second favorite childhood movie, after The Dark Crystal.

Because the main kid is a little bitch and frankly the world feels fake.

Fuck Doug, I loved all the Phil Collin songs in this.

youtube.com/watch?v=3P_xBCjo7K8

I'm 23. Is We're Back any good?

Good kino.

youtube.com/watch?v=gVebPEYiq2o

Completely agree about Doug. Fuck 'im.

You're right. To even begin to touch the book's insane world building required CG. Was too soon. Plus, the film is simply not charming.

Nothing wrong with your taste, though.

youtube.com/watch?v=16zdI_0OjYo

That Haunted Mansion part freaked me the fuck out

To Channel Awesome's credit. One of their workers, I think Paw. Described Neverending Story's novel.

Is he right that Bastian basically gains control of god-like powers in the books world and makes himself a god-king that creates monsters just for him to defeat? Only for the books hero to stop him?

NIGGUH. I STILL get that Poo Bear Yummy song in my head sometimes!

I havent seen this film in like 20 years!

Thanks amigo.

fuck yes!

Aw shit, I remember always watching one of these sing along videos.

The one part that stuck with me was them all singing Take Me Home, Country Roads

Come on, don't deny it!

Made me feel weird how strong that little girl came onto the boy. Weird in a good way.

Yeah, that's pretty much a spot-on assessment.

After the Nothing eats Fantasia, Bastian remakes it to his own whim. Starts out with him in a desert talking to a lion made of fire and it spirals up from there. And yeah, he looses his mind in there.

I'd recomend the book any day.

Yeah, if I remember she gave him bedroom eyes and everything.

>tfw I got to experience a girl coming on to me hard once in elementary
>somehow cave and go to skating ring together
>she realizes I'm a boring autist and leaves me alone the rest of my school life

Damn I had forgotten what this movie was called. Used to watch it all the time.

I don't know if you can help me with this.
There was this animated one, the parents of some girl are on a plane, the plane crashes or something in a mysterious island. She somehow gets there, and finds them all young like children.

...

It's a terrible movie though, in hindsight.

It's not bad, just average. And kinda dated by the sound track and the protagonist's haircut.

Anyone else watched this?

I find that hard to believe. More likely a scheduling conflict because, damn. The guy's in everything else.

My introduction to vigilante violence was Tom Jane's "The Punisher".

Saw it in theaters and afterwards my dad bought me the first Punisher solo arc in a paperback "The Circle of Blood"

Worded that wrong, but still. It would have been nice to see him in the background..

>Tom Jane's "The Punisher"

Uhh, did you not read Mein Kampf? The Jews were the persecutors.

It's a shame that this and Treasure Planet fell on their faces so hard. I'd like to see an alternate reality where 2D and 3D animations melded so smoothly over many more projects.

Bed Knobs and Broomsticks

What about it?

What was your first Studio Ghibli movie?

Spirited Away for me, legit teary eyed the first time I saw it just from the different emotions it brought out of me.

You've re-watched it recently?

I saw this on Cartoon Network around 2005. 10 minutes in I was desperately looking for a sacrificial video tape to record the rest. I knew I was seeing greatness.

Star Trek 4 is the most dumbed down of the older trek movies.

But yes, as a kid i could still appreciate good works.

>What was your first Studio Ghibli movie?

First I intentionally watched was Totoro with an ex. But I think the first one I ever saw was Porco Rosso on tv. Never owned or went out to watch them as a kid; first anime I saw was DBZ so that made me a violent little shit and Ghibli was too sedate

>LotR butchers every scene, every paragraph of dialogue

Maybe I should try again, but as a teen I found it focused too much on scenery and not enough on plot to keep me interested.

I think I watched this with Pee Wee's Big Adventure while renting it, I hardly remember it because I liked Pee Wee more.

saw this shit on repeat too many times

Fuck all of you.

This movie was bossanova.

Catwoman made my balls drop.

get out furry

>It could be worse. My nose could be gushing blood!

Do try again. There's a reason it created the fantasy genre.

Read the Silmarillion first, then the hobbit. Then everything in LotR will make sense.

Only true men of calibre can finish it with ease. It was like reading Beowulf again, it was incredible how good Tolkien was with language.

I read it as a teen and didn't understand any of it. Years later with the movies and suddenly I have pictures to go with the words: book is 100% better for me. Read it 3 or 4 times through, would skip around in it for bedtime drowsing.

I'm ambivalent on the movies, take 'em or leave 'em, but they're invaluable for their visual cues.

So much this. The movies make the books so much more accessible, and the books are worth a read.

>I'd like to fill her void.

Chevy Nova?

>Woops, I dropped my monster condom, that I use for my magnum dong

What did penguin mean by this?

>Years later with the movies and suddenly I have pictures to go with the words

>So much this. The movies make the books so much more accessible, and the books are worth a read.

I weep for both of you. You genuinely cannot imagine the scenes he portrays on your own? They aren't even that detailed, as literature goes.

If there were any images i wish i could wipe from my mind, it would be the pale shadows depicted in the movies. I try constantly to imagine what Tolkien wrote, and not what Jackson butchered.

misunderstood artistic kino

>tfw I watched the sequel in theatre

I feel dirty still

>misunderstood autistic kino
ftfy

I understand what you're saying.

Maybe the concensus imaginings of Tolkien's scenes, be they Ted Naismith's illustrations or the films, has diminished our ability to make Middle Earth our own. Maybe.

Or maybe Middle Earth is a real enough place now in our collective that to make your argument at this point in time is simply moot.

But I sympathize with you mourning the loss of pure imagination.

Oh yeah? Did you watch Spy Kids: 3D in theaters? Did you watch Shark boy and Lava girl in theaters?! Yeah thought not, sit down and let a real cringe master shine.

has it really been 10 years?

kek it actually has the jigsaw autism logo

I was still a little kid when this said:
>It is the year 2005. The treacherous Decepticons have conquered the Autobots' home planet of Cybertron. But from secret staging grounds on two of Cybertron's moons the valiant Autobots prepare to retake their homeland.

Get on my level.

I will quote bilbo on my impression of the movies:

>“I feel thin, sort of stretched, like butter scraped over too much bread.”

And that's why I love the House of Bombadil all the more. It's where the pure and ancient spirit dwells. Where commercialism cannot cheapen. Where the normies dare not tread. It's where the breath of invention that moved J.R. still sweeps the grass. It's where the stream calls us to rest, apart from our worldly cares.

18, aka youngfag reporting. I can remember both of those scenes well. The birds acting suspiciously black; the little Mole guy running around naked in the gas. Good memories.

Good luck with that.

>that one part where she forces the little rabbit boy to kiss her
That was the scene. The thing that started it all for me.
I blame this movie for all the fucked up shit i'm into today

It's not gone, you just need to get high

The lion isn't the king. He's his relative who sits on the throne while the king is away, that's why he acts like a baby.

iirc

marian isn't richard's daughter, she's his niece by marriage or some shit

...

In the end the actual king comes back and he's a mufasa-tier swag lion.

So she's Prince John's daughter? Did the IRL King Richard have another sibling who married a fox?

>Did the IRL King Richard have another sibling who married a fox?

I was alone in my love of this track:
youtube.com/watch?v=4YQh_7LYg-g

friends thought I was nuts

"Zionist" specifically means pro-Israel, not generally pro-jew.

...

Thanks for correcting the record :^)

oi, don't you have another 20 billion jews to add to the holocaust figures?

Oy vey I have been discovered.
Seriously though if you mean pro-jew just say pro-jew.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUG

this and big fish used to make me cry like a bitch

Now we're fucking talking!

Loved that movie as a kid. Always loved the idea of being able to bring my toys to life. Ended up reading all the books too for our AR required readings during elementary.

Yeah what is it about Big Fish? I love it, I get emotional too it, but I can't describe why really.

>It's too late Little Foot
>I'm already a meat eater

90's kino

>that hans zimmer/bryan adams score
>that emotion and depth conveyed through little dialogue
>that animation
>that quintessential coming of age narrative

pure childhood kino

THIS MOVIE IS FUCKING GREAT, ITS UNDERRATED AND OVERSHADOWED COMPARED TO DISNEY'S TREASURE PLANET.

CAN YOU TAKE ME HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHER
