On the one hand I can understand how it hurts to be ignored and abandoned, but on the other hand like Michael I myself have a trait of just running out of emotional steam and I feel it's the result of a lack of positive reinforcement during childhood. So it's a vicious cycle. How can you really learn to care about others when no one really cared about you? I get where Corey's coming from, but I feel he's blaming Michael for things out of his hands. Honestly Michael did more than he even needed to, more than others ever would, I think that exempts him enough from being damned for quietly taking his leave when fixing someone else's life becomes a Sisyphean feat. Can you even blame Michael to begin with, now that I think about it? He didn't make the world how it is and if you look at how things turned out anyway it was always a hopeless endeavor to pour all his optimism and attention into Corey or whoever.

Michael for all his past and later hang ups sorted himself out to comfortable success because he had a passion and a determination, Corey responsible for not picking up that part of Michael's persona and falling short imitating the rest as result.
