I don't make myself vulnerable because I don't feel vulnerable/care. If a girl curled her face up and winced at me I'd find it funny. I even struggle not to be weird on purpose or do things on purpose that will make situations awkward or provoke bad/judgemental reactions just for my own amusement. Not things that will hurt other people though. I was like that for the past 4 years after a pretty shit life experience knocked all the confidence I painstakingly built up throughout my teenage years. Just recently decided I'd had enough of it because it's like a living death. Bit overwhelmed and don't know what to do but doing something, anything, is better than the nothing our lives have been. I think i'm making some progress; I've gotten fitter, more active and have very slightly more to talk about/less to be ashamed of so far. Still barely off the starting blocks though.

List all the things you want to achieve even though they probably seem stupid and pathetic to you but don't let that get to you. Then all the things you need to do to achieve those things. The more energy you put in to doing this the more likely you are to keep focused on it and keep at it. Don't just write it on some scrap paper to be thrown away the next day like I'd been doing for years.
