LotR question

Why didn't the Eagles simply carry Frodo and the One Ring into Mordor and drop the Ring in Mount Doom?

Tolkien said he didn't think of it

They would be corrupted by the ring.

why couldn't tom just keep the ring if he's such a big mighty uncorruptable piece of cock cheese?

Eagles are too dank of memes to win the ringb owl.

He doesn't exist in the movies

Gandalf answers this precise question in the book.

The Nazgul would have seen/sensed them coming and slaughtered them.

>he doesn't care
not an argument

but the nazgul's fell beasts for btfo by the eagles in the third movie

>Ignoring exposition to suport assinine suposition

The Nazgul were controlled by the will of Sauron. During the final battle at Minas Tirith, Sauron's attention was spread thinly. At any earlier time the 9 would have been much stronger.

>pulled from ass but reasonable

Because then we wouldn't have an epic story.

The Ring's corruption effect is intensified by the power of the wielder. That's why a lowly Hobbit like Frodo has to carry it. More powerful beings like Gandalf, Galadriel or the Eagles would not be able to resist its influence.

If the Eagles were to carry the Ring, they'd go mad on the way over and basically deposit it into Sauron's hands.

Because than you would have no story and no themes to explore through the struggles the characters went though.

Sauron/the Nazgul would just have shot them down. They could only get to Mordor when Sauron was kill. DUH

Because Tom was put in the story to further show and explain to you how exactly the ring and "magic" in that world function and not to keep the ring.

WE ALL KNOW WE ALL KNOW WE ALL KNOW

>NO FUN ALLOWED NO FUN ALLOWED NO FUN ALLOWED

I think Tom was put in the story to show us that the sun rising, things growing, and water flowing are truly magic, and that the ring, contests of power, are meaningless; futile.

Too easy to spot by Sauron
