didn't even have to think about it
is The Witch good for /horrormovienightwithgf/? I want a scary movie that will make her cling to me. Popular female lead character is a bonus too
Only if she's a devote puritan Christian, or younger than 7 years old
The Witch is a 2015 movie.
Great movie though.
Pic related is my pick for movie of the year.
Haven't seen Neon Demon yet but it's on the docket for this weekend.
The depiction of Satan scared me more then anything I've seen in the last ten years.
...
Aweeeee shit nigha; you are correct.
Sorry guys, The Witch came to my theater last February. My bad.
Hell or high water was pretty good, I can't put my finger on why exactly I didn't love it- one thing that put a very bad taste in my mouth right off the bat was the terrible use of music in the very beginning. But I loved the shootout and the motive was awesome.
Hell or highwater is the best movie of 2016, not sure why it gets so little attention of Cred Forums
Pleeb here, can you name these? They look cool.
Most "good movies", films from Cannes or sun dance or Tribecca won't be released untill October\novemer.
You can't really say yet. My favorite film last year (pleeb alert incoming) was Siccario, didn't come out till mid fall I think.
This user gets it
Major props to Bone Tomahawk as well
One thing that really hit me about the music, was that while it sort of irked me first when they used a couple of licensed songs, I noticed that they usually used them in the car, and in once instance the brothers even began to sing along to them. Having them as "car radio songs" made their inclusion feel a lot more organic and a lot less shoehorned, especially considering they only used 3 or 4 the whole movie.
Oops, dun goofed. Bone Tomahawk was 2015
conjuring 2
It's that sort of way of life too, lots of car radio in shit towns.
But even though it made sense it really fucking annoyed me, probably because I hate that kind of music. They took an artistic risk and for me it didn't work but for others, like you, it did.
BvS UE
haven't really seen any movies this year though.
After this maybe Love & Friendship, but I haven't really watched a lot this year.
>make a coming of age drama
>call it a horror movie
fucking americans
A guy in pirate boots scares you?
2016 is overall a disappointment, but Hunt for the Wilderpeople is pretty good.
>western hills have eyes
Growing up can be pretty horrifying.
Ben Wheatley's "Free Fire". Saw it at TIFF, not sure if it counts as 2016.
As far as theatrically released films, Star Trek Beyond
KINO
r u blind?
I bet she smells amazing
>hasn't seen any foreign film this year
>barely any 2016 movies besides capeshit and Hollywood blockbusters
>watches subpar demi-flick once on netflix
>decides it's the best thing he's seen all year
>image.jpg
Image dot jay-pee-gee, OP.
maybe at the end of the movie after a couple days without a shower
Kino ending
this was a lovely movie
Mustang,
The Neon Demon
The Witch,
Cosmos
Bad choice. You'll be too in love with Anya and her dishplate eyes (why are they so far apart? ah! my god) and neglect your girl.
There is no torrent yet so some people cant watch it. Cinemas in my country dont even play it.
This looks like one of wes Anderson's "so quirky" movies.
Yeah it only just came to the second run cinema in my small city, before that I couldn't see it.
wow... this looks so lame.
It's the lamest movie of all time.
Kinda.
Your pleb gf is bored out of her mind so she will give you a blowjob instead of watching the film.
It's a 10/10 film for me but it's not for everyone.
I got the song for this
>the vvitch or neon demon
What a horrible year so far.
so what was the witch about exactly? whats the most horrifying thing there?
It's not, it's more like Tarantino minus the masturbatory self-indulgence
topkek, you'll just fall asleep bro, it's the most boring, unscary movie since blair witch
...
>this movie is labeled horror by pleebs
Gonna have to say Civil War.
The Witch was 2015, but I'm sure that was bait.
the yify for it isn't out yet
yeah, and Sicario was completely ignored at the oscars for some reason
Does The Lobster count as 2016?
If not its either The Nice Guys or Hell or High Water
...
1. Tie: the witch and Hell or highwater
2. captain america civil war
3. Hail Caesar
From what I've seen so far, my favorites are:
The Witch
The Nice Guys
10 Cloverfield Lane
Green Room
The Lobster
Train To Busan
I have yet to see but have high hopes for:
Hell or High Water
The Wailing
...
oh yeah, I forgot about Popstar. The one funny recent comedy and nobody sees it
Easy choice for me.
it was too smart for the room
That triggered me to no end.
It came out here in the UK with no advertising or anything. I was literally the only one in the screening.
Hell or High Water
probably The Finest Hours
The Nice Guys
The Neon Demon
10 Cloverfield Lane
Hunt for the Wilderpeople
DUDE CHRISTIANS ARE THE REAL EVIL LMAO
DUDE MYSTICISM ISNT DEAD LMAO
Film was a real let down desu, the fact that they showed the witch right from the start made it impossible to be scared or tense because from that moment on we knew that the family was fucked regardless of anything they could've done
i dont understand your first point about christians. and them showing it straight away was brilliant because you know something is coming but then takes ages before you see anything again instilling doubt, self doubt, it was fresh
>when someone is this unaware of how much they missed the point of the movie
This movie really is so great
The Witch
The Neon Demon
The Nice Guys
I need to see them all again to decide which one is the best.
War On Everyone
Same. Bluray when??
What's the bottom left?
Dis
Expected a weird movie where Daniel Radcliffe farts a bunch
Got that, plus a nicely presented story about finding your self worth
Stop posting this. You've literally spammed it in threads for months. Less people care than you think.
In stores Oct 4th, so it will probably be online next week.
>literally no one on Cred Forums has seen Captain Fantastic
What a shame.
Not enough jumpscares?
>boring
fuck you, pleb
didnt have ppl to go with at its release but ill give them my monies when i rent it from a legal site
>VVitch thread
>no one posted her butt yet
Get on it.
So what was this movie about user? telll me.
Isnt this about the invention of a pagan figure from the persians that was transcribed into a book by the jews and later on turned into the devil by the christians?
Note, I am catholic and even I am aware of this shit.
I doesnt have to be "about" anything. Not every movie has some political message
okay well, whats the story of the movie? whats up with the goat memes aswell?
just watch it
nah, I dont feel like paying to see it.
Besides I feel it would be much more fun if I hear about it here. from you guys to see why it is "one of the best movies of the year"
Your choice is shit so there isn't much to come at.
I also thought Free State of Jones and Money Monster were worth mentioning. Abbatoir was decent until the end, then it was just typical.
It's pretty low-quality. Pretty much saved by the decent setpieces. It actually looks like the movie was shot in a forest which is a big step up compared to most modern films.
Oscars have something against Villeneuve
It was 'The Wailing' until I watched pic related
I didnt pay to see it
:3
Can't freaking wait. I consider The Chaser one of the greatest thrillers I've ever seen, but I was a bit let down by The Yellow Sea and The Wailing. Still liked them, but not nearly as much.
Thats the worst movie Ive seen in theaters in a long, long time
Meme Lover 2: Dawn of JUST
Pete's Dragon
I think at one point he said the academy was shit in an interview.
literally the GOAT kino, desu senpai
r
How depressing is it?
