Ask again when it got a torrent, retard.

>yify rip isn't out
what the fuck do you expect?

Cred Forums only discusses bad movies and meme-able scenes. only time good movies are discusses is when people ask why good movies aren't discusses

can't wait for the yify rip so I can rip this film to pieces tbhfam

Jeff Bridges is based as fuq senpai

can't say best but it was a very good film. I've seen a couple threads on here about it, though they almost immediately slipped off the board after getting a handful of replies.

I havent even seen it but i have seen 7 threads about it already so you should probably look more.

ben foster found the donut shack

These are the only 2 right answers
>2016
>paying to see movies
Lol

Cred Forums does not like talking good movies they like meme posting and threads complaining that black people exist.

It was discussed to death a few weeks ago when the 5 people here who go outside saw it

This being the best movie of the entire year really says a lot about the quality of movies this year.

Good movie though.

I'm waiting for a torrent so that I can make a webm of Ben Foster fucking the hotel girl as Chris Pine tries to sleep in the next bed so that I can spam that in cuck threads

youtube.com/watch?v=djmNHow1od4

I've made a thread about this movie at least 6 times since it came out. and I'm not the only one

i'm waiting for a good rip of it

This man is the real Cred Forums

I am one of them. Literally best film this year by far

>best film of the year
>not Hunt for the Wilderpeople

Literally stupid.

Go away fatty

>it's a New Zealand makes the best film of the year and no one acknolwdeges it episode

Started with Once Were Warriors tebehe.

what is arrival

It's a word I think

Garbage version of Coens NCFOM isn't a good film

Must suck being poor. Maybe its time to get off Cred Forums and find a job.

Looks like Cred Forums garbage, fuck off.

>being a wageslave
no thanks

i don't visit theaters of my coutnry because they can't compete with my home setup at all.

No it's the second best after Midnight Special. Anyways I was in 2 threads for this you just need to browse more faggot.

wut

It wasn't in theaters here

I had to journey a hour to see this movie because I thought my local cinema would've had it because they had posters and trailers playing in the place. But no, they didn't show it (they done the same with The Neon Demon)

It is still in a local first run theatre nearby, maybe I'll go see it tomorrow.

Ehh, it's a 6/10

You people are cheap morons.

it was alright

it's not even the best new movie I saw this month you pleb fuck

it's completely decent but it's nowhere near being the best movie of the year. it has a few great moments, and it's very well acted but it's far too on-the-nose and it is without much of a convincing substance. it's solid and that's about it.

you might want to consider seeing more movies

This is going to be end up as one of the best years of the current decade mate.

im here every day and i see threads about about this move almost daily.

However......

>new syfy show "van helsing" premeired a few days ago, not a single thread
>the exorcist tv show premiered on fox a few nights ago, not a single thread
>new "fear the walking dead" last night, not a single thread
>new american horror story episide, not a single thread

fuck this gay board

You are the hero we need, not the hero we deserve

It's just another boring well-made movie.

It's empty, so you can't say anything bad about it.

those are all shit shows without any useful memes

godspeed

Are you legitimely interested in Van Helsing, the Exorcist and Walking Dead?

Are you either a teenaged girl or a mongoloid?

Legit question

The Nick Cave and Warren Ellis soundtrack alone was worth the price of admission.

Is it legit good enough to pay $12 to see?

It's really not. That is one of the biggest issues of the movie in fact. The score is good but it just makes the movie feel so familiar and cliche. The movie was too afraid to have its own identity so it just slapped a Nick Cave score on there and spent a lot of time aping the Coen brothers.

cuck

>$12
If I had to pay that every time I'd wait for every movie's torrent to come out

This man is correct.

This man is also correct.

Themes weren't complex, a few of the scenes were quite eye rollable (like the shitty brother fucking the casino consierge in the same room). I couldn't help but feel I was constantly being beaten over the head with texan culture.

NCFOM was GOAT

Excellent film. Obviously Cred Forums wouldn't be talking about it.

i was just about to see it at my theater tomorrow after work but they just took it out

I liked the scenes with Jeff Bridges and the Indian cop but other than that, it's just boring.

>Projected DVD release
>November

Yeah about that.

It's tied for the best of the year for me.

Nice to see a film that can balance comedy, action, melancholia, and serious themes.

Will be hailed as a classic in future decades.

No.

No, it will not.

It's got hardly anything to say other than "let's slap the audience in the face with our vague class consciousness repeatedly by making reference to the machinations of the banks."

This is a movie that will only be seen as Great by absolute plebs. As others have mentioned, it is extremely insignificant despite being solidly made.

Do people actually watch so few movies that anything that is merely solid like this movie appears like a masterpiece? I don't understand.

It really wasn't about the banks at all, that was the stage they were using to tell a more intimate story about the endless cycle of violence in the world and a story about family.

I think you might have missed the whole point.

>the endless cycle of violence in the world
That's so vague that it might as well be meaningless.
>I think you may have missed the whole point.
The whole point is being a run of the mill neo western thriller. There's not much depth to the film at all.

No, I think you've just never seen a film that actually had depth before. As the other user mentioned, your very vague claim about the "endless cycle of violence in the world" is not interesting at all. Especially when the point is so laboriously made by the writer's ineptitude that allows such scenes as bar confrontations with the "Comanche."

A story about family? You genuinely believe that is a deep theme? Have you ever watched a movie before?

That is not a theme, that is the plot of the movie. The movie has no ideas to communicate that it does not ram down the audience's throat with regard to the patronizing glances at class and what you refer to as "the endless cycle of violence." Seriously, how can you write that kind of thing and not feel silly?

The film was about how the conquered would eventually fade into the weak and be conquered again resulting in a never ending cycle of war and pain. Suggesting that human nature is inseparable from suffering.

the comanche scene wasn't even the scene where the themes were the most obviously stated. Did you watch the movie or read the summary?

And you saying "family" isn't a theme is really indicative of your knowledge of art. Are you telling me that family isn't a theme of Tokyo Story or Sansho the Bailiff? Don't be juvenile. I could have gone into more detail about family in HoHW if I had known I was going to be grilled on it.

HoHW basically comes to the conclusion that family is the only real safe heaven we have from the horrors of the world.

No, the film is a run of the mill neo western thriller. If the film wanted to be subtle and convey something meaningful, it wouldn't be Chris Pine and Ben Foster running around with guns robbing banks and being chased by Jeff Bridges. Again, your description of the supposed themes of the film is so vague it may as well be meaningless

Should I even bother trying to argue with you? We both seem pretty set in our opinions.

I guess we should just agree to disagree. But I do recommend giving this film a few months are even years and then coming back to it.

Are you seriously comparing this fucking mediocrity to Ozu?

And no, "family" is not the theme of Tokyo Story. Tokyo Story is about the loss of close family ties in an age of industrialization that leads to the primacy of capital and work in replacing the traditional family structure.

Jesus christ you are embarrassing.

This movie is mediocre and maybe one day you will return and realize that instead of seeing 5 movies a year and assuming any decent one is a masterpiece on Ozu's level. Truly disgusting.

Also the word is "haven" not "heaven." Also, that is absolutely not the message of the movie.

Deserve's got nothin to do with it

>Limited release
>No release out

Can't figure out why.

As a Texan, this is correct. It lacked accurate subtleties that NCFOM had that actually sold its Texan setting.

This movie was full of blatant "We're in Texas. Life's hard here. We're no-nonsense. It's the west. Out here we make our own rules. Honor, brother. I am loyal to you, because that's how we do things out here."

NCFOM had much more subtle ways of painting an accurate portrait of what Texans are like.

I've seen like 3 solid movies all year. What am I missing?

Ok my impression of the trailer was correct. And what's with lets robs banks because our moms is sick?
>I did it for muh-family

thats cus cowboy hat flicks are fucken retarted faggot

having watched the trailer and looking at the director's previous work i gotta say i have no fucking clue how this movie could be anything more than bland and average.
i guess through the script because of the sicario guy but if that's just it... i guess this will be one of those early "oscar contenders" that everyone's going to forget once the real movies start pouring.

make a webm of the gas station scene as well.

It got a limited release. The only place in my state was like 20 miles away. I'm not driving 40 miles to watch a fucking movie.

>go to cinema to watch film
>have to go by their showing times
>pay to do so
>get into theatre at precise time of movie starting
>sit through advertisements for 10 minutes
>sit through 15 minutes advertisements for other films
>disclaimers for another minute
>then another minute advertisement for the cinema's sponsor
>film finally starts
>sharing the experience with tommy texters and people who chit chat

OR
>wait few months
>download film when available in comfort of your own home whenever you feel like watching it

tbf a lot of people haven't seen it

I drove 48 miles (96 total) to see Interstellar in IMAX

>watching films with other people
holy tits, how pleb can you be?

You sound like fag desu

imagine your disappointment on that drive home.
