As a fat person who wears outsized clothing, the goal is not to hide that we are fat. The goal is to make the folds and flaps not show up as much.
With my shirt off, I look like dr zoidberg without his carapace. With a tight or close fitting shirt you can see that too. Being fat is shitty, but being a flubbery mess is worse.
