M*A*S*H

What made it the greatest sitcom of all time?

It wasn't afraid to have serious episodes and layered characters.

True. Some of the unique episodes like Interview were fucking amazing. And the finale went dark as hell.

>greatest sitcom of all time?
wrong pic senpai

It's been playing continuously here in Australia for the last 40 years and we've got plenty of channels. How many other noteworthy sitcoms from the era can you think of?

Winchester was superior to Burns in every possible manner.

it lasted longer than the war it's based on

mainly because Winchester was allowed to be likable instead of comically villainous all the time. whoever acted Burns was really good but they went way too far with his character towards the end.

>sitcom based on a movie
any other examples of this?

>posting Uncle Albert and not Granddad

Uncle Albert> miserable NEET Granddad

Its pretty great but cheers is the greatest sitcom.

>tfw you got all seasons without the canned laughter

The show is much better without it.

do you have the reunion special

No. Haven't seen it. Is it good?

This show had a fucking laugh track?

I've only seen this show on dvd and those never had that. Man, must have been awful.

Fargo
Friday Night Lights

CBS demanded it have a laugh track because they had never produced a show without a laugh track. The shows creator was really against it but eventually he made a compromise and said he'd allow it as long as there was no laugh track in the operating room.

I think UK broadcast it without a laugh track but america preferred that shit.
