Best of Russian cinema?

Best of Russian cinema?

There's russian cinema?

Sorry, Russian Kino.

Come and See

Those dashcam compilations of car crashes. Some call it hyper realistic cinema.

You first, OP.

...

stalker sucked

...

...

The Green Elephant is the ultimate russian kino.

Kin dza dza

Koo!

Come and See is really good but it's hard to compare tarkovsky's films with it. They're all so good.

Soy Cuba is Kalatozov's best work.

Ostrov, pure ortodox kino.

There was a cat in the room?

Stalker by default because it isn't Soviet filled shit, Orthodoxy religious babble, and vodka power CYKA BLYAT

Operation 'Y' & Other Shurik's Adventures
Kino af

>unironically enjoying propaganda, and even recommending it

fuck you

that's not salt for svanetia tho

Russian кинo:
Tarkovsky's filmography
Eisenstein's filmography
Come and See

That's it.

must hurt knowing so little and pretending to know so much

Salt isn't as good as Soy Cuba.
The location shooting, camera work and political underpinning make Soy Cuba superior.

Is Come and See that good? I've had it downloaded forever but never got around to watching it. What's it like?

This

Suffering, but in a good way.

camera work is far superior in salt for svanetia and soy cuba is propaganda

This. They're so surreal I think they qualify as avant garde

>Russian cinema being propaganda is somehow a problem
Since when?
>camera work better in Salt For Svanetia
Agree to disagree chump

brat

My favorites are Battleship Potemkin, Alexander Nevsky and Lieutenant Kije. I also like Volga-Volga. It was influenced by American directors like Busby Berkeley and it really shows in the lavish, sets. Back when Russia was setting her first steps on the cinematic scene.

...

Have you seen all of them, yet?

The General Line > Que Viva Mexico! > Strike! > Ivan The Terrible pt1 > October > Ivan The Terrible pt2 > Battleship Potempkin

>not looking beyond the propaganda and enjoying the art of film-making that created it

>Orthodox religious babble
That's exactly what it is and it's phenomenal
