"If it sounds like writing, I rewrite it."

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN

I mean, it's just not helpful.

Why do you keep making these threads? No one here makes films, just shitposts and memes.

Premiere
After Effects
Sony Vegas

>No one here makes films
Yeah, but they may want to.

Are any of those free? And can you edit on a regular laptop or should you look for something specialized?

>losamantesdesarria.com/
Is this kino?

>tfw unironic 3x3

None of them are free. You can do LIGHT editing on a recent laptop but for anything with color correction or blending effects you need a faster processor and LOTS of RAM.

After Effects for example will work with 16GB of RAM but it slows things down considerably as opposed to 32GB.

what is this

16GB of RAM? Jesus Christ. 32GB would probably cost a million dollars.

You can get them all for free easily

...

my kino

You guys do realize that none of you have talent right?

what about you?

fuck off refn nobody likes you

Yes, pirate premiere, it's pretty easy if you're not retarded. You can edit on a laptop no problem, but the rendering might take a while depending on the specs (not a huge deal).

Well, none of them ARE free, they could be torrented for free sure...

At least I have a teenage gf ^_^

Forgive the format, wrote this skit on my phone because my laptop's fucked. Im putting a few together for a sketch show pilot, will post the full script when I'm finished.

>take a while

A midrange laptop from 2015 with 16GB took 16hrs to render about 13mins of footage with CC correction and alpha blending (CUDA could have made it a bit faster but affects quality) plus various compositing and fade effects in 4K...

...so a good while, desktop/workstations are much better suited for editing.

This is terrible, Sam.

"If it sounds like it's been scripted, I rewrite it (so that it sounds natural and not like a story but real life events that you are watching occur in front of you)"
fixed m8

>A midrange laptop from 2015 with 16GB took 16hrs to render about 13mins of footage with CC correction and alpha blending
Jesus Christ, I guess I need to give up on a film career.

Just buy a ridiculously overpowered desktop. I got mine for like 1500 euros and it's a monster, I can edit 1080p with color correction and it doesn't slow down. I could probably edit 4k with some effort and more time for rendering. And this PC is like 3 years old already.
>protip: don't fall for the mac jew

What desktop do you have? And I don't know if it's a good idea since I don't have my own place yet.

How do I dialogue

I put one together on a local website where you build your own pc, so it's really a frankenstein machine, but it works like a charm, love it.

Well thanks for the help I guess

bump

bupo

I have given up on writing, will never put down another creative word in my life

thanks for the update man

I appreciate this thread user.

Wait wut? The investment really isn't that much in the long run.

Davinci Resolve for me atm.

Got a friend who wants me to direct a monologue he wrote, I'm gonna transfer it to screenplay format then storyboard it. Hopefully I can actually get it moving.

than you, it'll probably die though

I've never had a job before in my life or a bank account.

>Davinci Resolve
That's what I was looking for, it's free, right?

>I've never had a job before in my life or a bank account.

Oh.. okay user.

I'm ass out, man.

Just splurged on a laptop for writing and photography practice. It's quite high end, but not workstation level. I was previously going to build a desktop workstation, but since I'm more interested in writing, and because what I've written has been very well reviewed so far, I've gone with something mobile first.

It really is easier writing in a library or cafe environment.

Yeah it's free

What do you guys think of Celtx as a writing tool?

thank you friend
