Horror Kino

Any horror movies in a similar vein to The Descent where the fear comes from a concept (in the first half) instead of an actual monster or ghost or whatever?

Bonus points if it isn't shit.

It Follows is great. It is about a monster that just follows you in human form, but it only walks. It is creepy as fuck.

as above so below

Hell yeah. It Follows is pure kino.

Loved that movie, but I'd consider that a monster. It was still a concept done better than I'd ever seen it in a film, though.

Everything was in her head. The monsters were not real.

i'm going to watch this right now

FUCKING 7 MINUTES IN AND THIS GIRL FARTS

HOLY SHIT
GIRL IN YELLOW DRESS DOES NOT COMPUTE

fugg someone finna walk in on these two

Just some "unique" ones I seen recently
>As Above So Below
Not exactly unique in execution, but it's one of the better found footage with a different ending than you'd expect
>The Triangle
If you like the concept of recurrent things, you'll like it
>The Ruins
The concept is pretty neat and it has some decent practical effects
>Infini
More scifi action than horror, but if you liked Event Horizon, Pandorum, Doom, and Aliens, you'll probably enjoy it

Most recent I've seen that somewhat fit

pretty good mix of atmosphere, interesting cinematography and straight violence might watch it again later this month

Pic related is pretty good.

A lot of good build of is used throughout out the film and it has chilling atmosphere.

Also it best to come in blind for this film OP.

what's scary in the first half is the "concept" that they're trapped in a cave. that continues to be the main predicament, the monsters just put more of a point on it.
