I feel like there's zero hype for this

I feel like there's zero hype for this.

It's more of a "let's get this shit over with" kind of deal.

wizardkino

Are they even marketing this shit? I keep forgetting it's coming out next month.

"harry potter made bank right? Think we can still somehow cash in on that franchise?"

"I'll call Rowling. Heard shes almost out of money and made a play with the franchise"

This is how i believe the jews discussed this

Why didn't they name it Harry Potter: Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them?

Seems like a poor business decision to not cash in the HP name.

I quite like the look of it desu

David Yates can do no wrong.

Can the porn parody for this PLEASE be called "Fantastic Breasts and Where to Find Them?"

he already did with Tarzan

I thought it was OK

>tfw that was his dream project and he would only do more Potter movies if they let him do Tarzan

Pretty shitty poster honestly

Like there's not even any fantastic beasts on it

It's just the generic "actors stand in some mist" shared by thousands of direct-to-DVD scifi flicks

The Harry Potter universe is pretty pathetic, so I cannot see myself caring. People tend to forget this was a series of children's books, which only grew into something larger because of their popularity, not expectation. Every book something else was tacked on. There was no thought into development.

Pretty much. It's a a movie based on a half-assed booklet based on a textbook mentioned in one Harry Potter book. It's tangentially related to HP, so they think it's gonna do gangbusters.

I've heard this before, how is there any way she's running out of money? HP literally prints cash, does she not get royalties for the movies or did she sell her share for blow and coloured scarves?

because there is

funnily enough you can get bored of a world after 8 movies set in it

What kills me is the casting seems good.

1930's Americana mixed in with the Harry Potter lore? Sounds enticing.

But it still seems bad. I can't put my finger on why.

>not Hermione's Fantastic Beast

it looks pretty boring. it's just your usual Hollywood spectacle flick. it's called fantastic beasts and where to find them. where to find them? oh, they're all in New York, apparently.

...

>1930's Americana mixed in with the Harry Potter lore? Sounds enticing.

I know it does but this is Rowling we're talking about, the only parts of 'Americana' we will be seeing is how racist/bigoted we all are.
As for the Harry Potter lore yea, I just it could be cool, but I'd bet their gonna muck it up somehow

No joke, Faith Wood-Blagrove (Modesty) is my cousin, I hope I can get tickets to the premier or something

I thought this shit came out a long time ago.

This is my feeling also, it should work, but her.

She should do TV honestly.

She write this straight to screen too, right? Just made a screenplay? I'm not sure if that would be good or bad.

I like how the first posts in every marketing cycle are always wondering where the marketing is

"New Yorkers are animals" confirmed.

Rowling's Demo Reel.

>I feel like there's zero hype for this.

Watching Cred Forums try to speak for the general public is always a hilarious social experiment that just proves how disconnected and delusional you all are.

I remember the dozens of Star Wars thread about how TFA was gonna fail because "No one I know will want to watch that Jew propaganda forced interracial trash!" and of course it became a virtually unanimous critical and financial success and the third highest grossing film of all time.

Don't worry about the hype you "feel" in your own world. This movie is gonna shatter records and annihilate the box office.

it actually sounds better than HP, we get to see grown ups in that universe. I find the universe more interesting than Potter himself, saying that im not gonna bother. We've already seen a lot of that universe either way.

when a creator tries to expand but the audience wont let them

No, it's Rowling's Gamer's Atlas: High Society

Harry Potter: now in Murrica!

Newt seems like a cool character that could carry the movie. He's an adult so he doesn't need constant lore exposition like Harry did.I just hope he can solve his own problems instead of needing a Deus Ex Machina at every turn.

ITT: No-Majs

>rowling
>kloves
>yates
>warner brothers under the current chairman and not alan horn
>green lit in case the superhero universe falls flat on its face
>modern warner brothers
>cursed child was only praised for set design and acting
>eddie redmayne
>colin farrells phoning it in/hammy ""acting""
>the mexican twink tumblr actor
>most likely hundreds of nods to make sure people know they're watching a flick set in the same universe instead of just one or three
It's going to be trash
Complete and utter trash

>David Yates
HE's a boring director who made the last couple of HP films fucking awful - he shouldn't be directing films about magic, so bland

>Rowling comes up with a better way of exploring the potterverse
>just as we've all become bored of it

it still might be huge though , when it came to the HP universe got bored of the grimdark visuals and the whole saga, so staying away from that might work

that's a terrible poster

McCoy looks really young on that poster

She is a strong believer in charity and welfare systems given she is a success story of them. She has donated a very significant percentage of her wealth or done lots of things for charity.

In fact the book this movie is based on, she made like nothing on it, all the profits went to the publisher and a charity.

Oh so this is some Harry Potter shit. Without the Harry Potter name I thought it was knockoff in the same universe. Pretty shit marketing strategy to not include the Harry Potter name.

HP movies in general had very little hype around them, mate. Aside from fan events and other niche things, they weren't all that much into marketing.

Because there is no question they're gonna financially dominate. It was the same with the Hobbit films. The studios knew they were a financial slam dunk so there's no reason to waste money on advertising.
