Horror movies general

Looking for some horror movie without jumpscares and extremely loud noises.
Probably something with a beautiful story.

Whatever anyone tells you, don't watch Babadook. I got memed into watching it today and it was awful, as in actually painful to watch because of that fucking child actor. Wasn't even scary to make up for it.

I was gonna watch pic related with some friends for Halloween.

It didn't have jump scares that I recall, I think.

Bitch, forgot the pic

I really wanted that fucking kid to die

>stuff plebs say
let me guess, you probably also think the movie is about a monster

No, you want a drama.

Babadabadook and It Follows are the obvious choices.

I really enjoyed What We Do In The Shadows but that's really a comedy.

Session 9

It doesn't have a "beautiful story", but it's very atmosphere heavy.

You're looking for this

Lake Mungo

>le depression

I have literally never seen such a hamfisted metaphor in a non-children's film. And you're not special for figuring it out. If that movie was just about the monster, it would have been substantially superior.

...

Gonna watch Session 9 tonight then. I read what it is about just now and gonna watch it. Thanks user.
Also read about other ones and I am also interested in Dead End. Maybe I will watch that next week or something. Thanks everyone.

so how are the blu ray releases of nightmare on elmstreet and friday the 13th

Saw the original Cat People. Interesting movie. I think I let the hype get to me, but that bus sequence really is impressive.

Is the "sequel" worth seeing?

It has jump scares, but I actually like the remake for the most part. Has effective atmosphere, and the spookiest moments for me was stuff that was implied.

>disliking jumpscares

Hello, /r/movies!

Watch some giallo or something.

for your health

Hello, newfag.

The VVitch, best movie I've seen this year.

It's the only movie I've seen this year

It's pretty much They Lived meets The Thing.

This so hard.
>babbi's first metaphor
>don't you see guys, the monster wasn't REAL, this movie is so deep isn't it guys, i'm so clever and sophisticated for pretending to enjoy this shitfest

bought the Halloween collection ready for halloween

OP here just watched Session 9. It was a good movie. Thanks a lot user.

Nice that you liked it, that movie doesnt get enough love.

I rewatched Splinter last week and that's still a good monster movie.
