Tar Baby.

You want to be spoon fed Cred Forumstergeist?

It isn't. And we need to find a black guy with balls of steel who can ask for Disney to properly release it in the States.

Morgan Freeman would.

You can thank Spike Lee bitching hard enough

Uncle Remus was a "happy slave".

That's why.

i never got that either
its just a happy black man
oh, wait

>how is this racist again?

If you're asking Cred Forums you obviously don't care about a real answer and only want to hear your echo chamber tell you it's not racist so enjoy your (Yous)s

He wasn't even a slave, he was a freed plantation owner

Reconstructionist South was not by any means a fun place for black people, but it's a fucking Disney movie. That's like complaining Cinderella didn't marry her inbred cousin for political purposes, or the village people in Beauty and the Beast weren't all moaning wastes infected with Typhus.

>if I echo chamber post then so does everyone else
Do IQlets actually believe this shit?

Well, yeah. Cred Forums may have problems but at least you'll get some responses from people with critical thinking skills. Considering the counter culture aspects of the website, I'm not going to get responses saying it's racist "just because" or it's not racist "just because" and play into whatever narrative they've heard, as opposed to forging ideas for themselves.

I've thought about it and I can see how it's """problematic""", but I don't think acknowledging a movie exists is racist, and I don't think it was made to deliberately demean or ridicule black people or mock their history.
The majority of Cred Forums wouldn't just respond "It's not racist, fuck niggers", nor would they respond "It's racist, fuck white people". If you look at some of the responses already, people are trying to explain context and draw logical conclusions. Not everything is a Cred Forums conspiracy or shitpost extravaganza. We're fully capable of discussing complicated topics on Cred Forums.

pasta?

DAYUM NIGGA

MMMM MMMM

It made reference to Tar Baby.

Other than that, nothing really. It's a kids movie about a folk tale told by a black guy.
The problem is that it doesn't show slavery in a dramatic and horrible light like films are suppose.

It's not even a good movie. Why do people care about it so much?

Black guy here.
Jungle Book was one of my favorite movies as a kid, and I never really got any racist overtones from the chimps or monkeys or whatever they were.

Normalising slavery as a happy time where everyone sang campfire songs isn't really "nothing".

It's hard to make that case when just out of frame a black man would be getting flogged or hung for not painting the fence right.

It wasn't set during slavery, you liberal faggot.

you're either super fucking retarded or you watched the movie with your eyes closed.

WHITE MALE

It was set during reconstruction, after the war, you cunt.

King Louie was italian is why.

Unrelated, but now I have the song stuck in my head.

So you're of the opinion that if a film isn't "good" it should banned from public viewing? Not a fan of letting audiences make up their own mind?

What about the crows in Dumbo?

Black people talking like stereotypical black people is racist. Blacks actually talk like white newscasters and to depict them otherwise is racist stereotyping.

Except when they don't, then pretending the rich patois of the black American is not a full culture unto itself is racist.

So the real problem is that it was made by white men and not blacks where we can be sure it's got the official black pass seal of approval.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Song_of_the_South
Nah, that guy is right. Honestly the most offensive thing about this movie is how fucking boring it it. I'd still buy it and all of Disney's other politically questionable stuff if they ever released it in a collectionwith documentaries and bonus features. Just slap pic related on it

>Normalising slavery as a happy time where everyone sang campfire songs isn't really "nothing".
How does the movie normalise slavery and assert everyone was singing? It's literally one guy and a few side characters, most of which are animated. So because one ex slave had a nice disposition and it's a Disney movie so ofcourse it's a musical, that somehow is saying slavery is a okay?

Slavery existed in ancient greece, too. As did mass pedophilia. Is Hercules normalising slavery because people in that society are happy and sing? Same goes for Mulan and Aladdin. Mulan has the addition of taking part during wartime. Be a Man is sung by a man who's leading a bunch of essentially slaves who were conscripted against their will to fight. The emporer who Mulan hugs at the end of the movie is based on Qin Shi Huang, one of the biggest monsters in history. He was such an asshole that he trapped all the slaves who were building his tomb inside so that they couldn't reveal its secrets.

There is no contextual difference between these examples and Songs of the South other than the fact that American History makes people salty.

Thats uh because internalized racism and the patriarchy normalized it in your child brain or something.

It's not "banned" just because Disney has no interest in re-releasing it.

Idiots. He wasn't a slave, the film had nothing to do with slavery. I guarantee these are the same cunts who want to censor the word nigger from Huckleberry Finn.

>fell for the bait

also I have not seen this kino

But that has nothing to do with quality and everything to do with being scared of backlash. SJWs are enforcing censorship on Disney by behaving like children.

There's no market for a bad old film that they feel reflects poorly on their brand.

It's self-censorship, they know the outrage from tumblr and black twitter it will cause. Have you ever known Disney to turn down money? They fucking love re-releasing shit and overcharging.

You're wasting your time user.

racist used to describe anyone who was bigoted against race

now it's used as virtue signalling

>It's self-censorship, they know the outrage from tumblr and black twitter it will cause.

Disney has been pretending this movie didn't exist since the late 80's you complete fucking idiot.

Christ, you're daft... back then it was cunts like Sarpton and Jackson they were worried about. I was just using modern examples. The whole point is Disney won't release it because they're scared of the backlash. Not because they don't think it's a "good" movie. Self-censorship is still censorship.

Oh I remember this cartoon when I was like 4 or 5.
Let's pop in that betamax
>zippity doo da zippity day~
haha yeah its cute he's a real life person talking to cartoons
>negroes are inferior in every way~
what the fuck? I dont rememb-
>whites should all own us so they can get paid~
I'm just gonna turn this off

Hannibal Burress

>charming black fellow interacting with lovable cartoon characters

It's racist because it reminds people of slavery. That's all.

What about em? You think niggers didn't actually talk like that in the 1930s?

What's so "raysiss" about tellin it like it is?

>Be Disney
>write insanely catchy song that's easy for children to sing without being too stupid for adults to enjoy
>it's in the movie that you can't re-release out of fears of being called racist
youtube.com/watch?v=6bWyhj7siEY
The higher-ups must hate whoever wrote this film

>how DARE you portray illiterate, uneducated blacks in the South as they actually were! They never ate watermelon or chicken and definitely did not sing no tunes, you utter fucking Raycis Hitler Jr.

He's a wholesome happy black family man who is not full of hate and anger at white people.

Can't have that on zionvision.
Blacks need to see no positive rolemodels, only agressive thugs that glorify stoneage style consumerism and greed.

I remember when I was a kid I HATED song of the south because I really couldn't stand Johnny.

My mom was really fucking pissed at me because song of the south was one of her fond childhood memories.

The real problem here is that he made up 1/3 of the live action cast but blacks are only 1/8 of the population. Talk about over-representation.

yeah, there sure weren't any black people near plantations in Georgia during the 1800s, no sir.

You could say nobody has any positive rolemodels then, unless you think Rick and Morty are positive rolemodels.

To be honest when I was a kid I assumed it was about a jolly old grandpa and his cartoon animal friends.

Turns out it's basically nazi propaganda.

Glad we have all those positive black stereotypes these days.

GET BACK TO YOUR FUCKING CONTAINMENT BOARD!!

that xbox videogame he had was pretty good though.

Doesnt he kill arabs in that game?

I guess that's a good thing. Send the niggers to kill the arabs and then gas whoever is left.

Holy christ this board is just useless isn't it?

Hiro take Cred Forums down first please

Isnt it strange that all those old movies with frowned upon racial stereotypes are being replicated by the popular black comedians of today.

That's right.

Cuz troof is not allowed on tv

Lol my mom used to sing this to me when I was a pup.

its not, if you watch the movie the black man is very kind and helpful. He is never played in a demeaning way

RLM said it so it must be true

WELL YOU SHOULD START FEELING SUBJUGATED.

IF YOU WERE SMART YOU'D BE PERMANENTLY HURT BY THE JUNGLE BOOK'S PORTRAYAL OF KING LOUIE AND WOULD REVOLVE YOUR EXISTENCE AROUND STARTING FIGHTS ABOUT IT.

BUT YOU'RE NOT AND THAT'S WHY YOU'RE SUCH A DUMB NIGGER!

He's a dumb nigger because it's in his blood.
But at least he's not bitching about white people for once.

He's wasting everyone's time because he literally doesn't know what he's talking about, and then in this post admitted so. But please continue to fool yourself into believing you're a big fish in a small pond by assuming your political beliefs are factually superior in every situation even when you yourself don't know what you're talking about.

Disney is a corporation and they don't release movies that for even the most unfounded reason would make them a target for racial demagogues, and wouldn't make them profit anyways. Song of the South isn't even good, who wants to die on that hill?

Blacks are great at protecting shit because they don't have a complex about fighting people who want to steal their shit and kill them.

It was extremely racist and oppressive to you and your people

If it wasn't for this oppression you would be extremely rich and happy!

VOTE DEMOCRAT

>because they don't have a complex about fighting people who look like people who want to steal their shit and kill them.
Fixed.

Biting satire my friend.

it's old and has black people in it.

Hey man all the people 50 killed were actually working for and defending the people who stole his skull.

Do all you anons feel brave for circlejerking over how not racist this movie is despite it being one of clearest textbook definitions of racism in pop culture history?

Do you legitimately believe this board is anything but a completely toxic safe space shit hole? How can you ridicule tumblr and reddit and SJWs and have threads like this. You don't think it's odd that literally everyone here has the exact same political opinion about Song of the South except for the two posters that everyone is ganging up on?

Best post in the thread, holy shit. Wish it was the first.

Black caricatures, the stereotype is mostly gone now because this stuff was pretty rightfully trashed.

I think the song probably. Though I think Disney is okay with saying zippity do da is just a Disney song you hear at Disneyland and not from a movie with black caricatures. Though imo I think it's pretty good, I wish I had a mammy telling me to wash up for supper or something to that affect.

>two groups of people disagree with eachother, and nobody's post has been deleted or censored, but only the posts disagreeing with my opinion are evil.
>this is a circlejerk because people responded to posts they disagree with.

No really, tell me why this movie is racist instead of just calling everyone poopy doo doo heads. I'm waiting.

>the posts disagreeing with my opinion are evil.
Nice projection there, friendo.

For some reason this image is in the extra's gallery for the Who Framed Roger Rabbit DVD... region 1. I think Song of the South was released in the UK and other regions.

So you don't have an argument? You just come into a thread and write stories about

Dude. I am listening. There is a real thing where people have a problem with this movie. Can you help me figure it out? I have an idea, it's that it shows the small-town old South in a good light, without discussing systematic oppression. Can you even say that, or are you just here to shit on people and pretend it's a fuckin trick that people who share a point of view would hang out and talk in the same place? I don't even have a problem with reddit or tumblr, they're just not my guys.

Or maybe you should ask your psychology teacher for a new word for why you can't have a conversation with me?

You just come into a thread and write stories about how unfair it is everyone didn't agree with you in the first place, when you can't even argue your point*

My bad, when I type about shit I care about I get all over the place and forget to finish each idea.

>despite it being one of clearest textbook definitions of racism in pop culture history?
I know this is bait, but how so?

who fucking cares it's a good fun movie get off your high horse ya uptight cunt

>Black caricatures, the stereotype is mostly gone now because this stuff was pretty rightfully trashed.
Yeah, preach it.
Glad they got rid of showing blacks as honest, hard working and friendly people and finally show them as the violent, criminal beasts they are. Really cool.

You can't show black people acting like black people in the modern century or some shit. Do people not understand that stereotypes aren't 100% fictional and made up just to slander people? They're representative of real people.

Because blacks offer so much to the community library that is social media right
They just needed the freedom to express themselves huyyyy

when is the last time 'they' shoved an easy e picture in your face?

Because it's in a textbook therefore it must be true.

>just slap pic related on it
but i still laugh at all the racist jokes in the way they were originally intended to be
does that make me racist?
is the only PC way to watch that kino with a straight face and saying "hmm, yes, lots of history here, i'm glad we're more progressive today"?

fuck rabbits

How about Eazy's entire self-chosen career and more recently the movie Straight Out of Compton?

He also never said anything about shoving in faces, just about popular marketable portrayals.

And just because people buy it doesn't mean that actual black people aren't selling out their reputation on purpose for cash and to intentionally portray a violent confidence.

Actually it's a good angle, to say 'fuck you i'll shoot you'. There's pretty much nothing wrong with any of this.

reminder that "zippity doo dah" is still one of the top 5 most used disney songs

>eazy e is the only gangster rapper to ever exist
Gangster rap was the biggest catastrophy to befall the black community next to crack cocaine.

You must be a buffoon to not realize that Mr. Goldstein wants niggers to be primitve violent thugs.
Just like BLM which is entirely financed by jews.

Can't have blacks work and be productive members of society.

The rabbit is an ayran anti-semite

King Louie is Italian, you meatball.

I fucking hate that. If you have a black guy who talks like 80+% of black people its racist.
No, its a realistic observation.

If I said verbatim what any random hip-hop/rap singer said in a BET interview, it'd be labeled as racist.

>Walt actually has radical liberals and friends of black organizations to look over the script they had so far for the movie, to more it more palatable to the northern states and those negroes that love buying movie tickets to his films just as much as whitey.
>almost ignores all their suggestions anyway in fear of losing the bible belt
The film isn't trying to be racist but it ironically would have held the test of time if they tackled the problem of reconstruction head-on.

This movie is about as racist as fucking sesame street, I dont know why PC folks want to look at something this so fucking mundane when there are movies like Coon Skin, Wizards, Fritz the cat and much much M U C H MORE that are more fucking racist than this pleb shit. Get back to me when you watch that shit and get your fill of tits, blood and niggers.

anything that depicts the South in a positive light is automatically racist.

used in what

>hear your echo chamber tell you it's not racist
But Cred Forums is literally tumblr 2.0

What was racist about Wizards?

Some people would prefer Nazi propaganda not be shown in family films.

How so?

Not sure why mike put that joke in. Literally the dumbest of the dumb think Song of the South is racist.

Under rated post
Top kek

bunny is not wearing a tie

What was that warning added to?

any time a black male is cast in a role other than a king it's racist

>tfw can't ride Splash Mountain anymore because it's racist.

brazilian here
i am deeply offended by disney's portrayal of our people
as an ape who wants to be human it hit to close home

>black man being a role model
Can't have that now can we? Black guy being nice is racis

The censored 11, those Looney Tunes movies were MUCH more racist than Song of the South.

NOW IM THE KING OF THE SWINGERS OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH THE JUNGLE VIP

Wizards wasnt a family film. one of the main characters is a buxom slut who goes around practically naked, and her love interest is an elderly pervert

HE HAS NO STYLE

I thought it was the "people should keep to their kind" message,

youtube.com/watch?v=_v2exWrsGOc

What about this?

People like to pretend that every fictional character needs to be a mary sue when this is actually good writing because the flawed character has more room to learn and grow through their interactions with their environment.

I fail to see how that's racist

...

There's an entire ride based on this movie as well

Big Thunder Mountain.

Yeah, makes no sense.
I been on it and I was like, who are all these animals and why are they all called Briar X.
Can't see if from my pic but when you're in the mountain you see all the characters from the movie.

...

it's just to save face against retards. I'm sure warner bros still love those cartoons.

Huh? Splash Mountain is what it's based on

Haven't been there in years.
Sorry maybe I got my rides mixed up.

Both are mountains.

>Is Hercules normalising slavery because people in that society are happy and sing? Same goes for Mulan and Aladdin
Did they depict the singers as happy ex-slave now-plantation owners?

He was called "uncle" Remus because old black men in the south were not allowed to answer to "mister"
Young men were "boys" and old men were "uncles"
That's pretty racist.

Seconding the question is this pasta? It feels like something I might have written once.

ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING

Yes. Looney tunes was racist af

This is not racist. This was one of my favorite toons as a child.

Next you will tell me that you thought Space Mountain was Expedition Everest

It's splash mountain. Big thunder mountain is just a rolllercoaster with a train theme. One of the oldest rides in the park so it's an original theme that the Jews didn't use to tie into one of their existing IPs

Slaves probably sang songs at one point or another user, that's why we have blues music or something

if I drew an accurate caricature of leslie jones I would be considered a racist

underrated

singing is racist, toe the line white man

youtu.be/MXJ6-BEG6wo

Wait, how is this racist again?

I feel like I need some explanation about the tar baby. It was literally a snowman made out of tar.

I don't see it

My brain just got nuked by a nostalgia bomb. It hurts.

I'll bet you don't even remember the Peter Pan club, fag
>that swag as fuck arcade with all the pb&j's you could eat

BTFO

>Waaaaah, the mean old non-SJW's challenged my SJW bullshit, waaaaaaaah. Why can't the mean old straight white males let me spout retarded liberal platitudes with impunity?

It's not.

Liberals and nigs just get triggered by literally anything, and having powerful media-companies censor themselves at their request makes them feel powerful.

I can't wait for them to release this movie. The movie was *shit* but no one seems to remember that fact.

Disney has several old, great animated movies. SotS is not one of those movies.

>Wait, how is this racist again?
Who cares? It is a shit movie.

Old Tom and Jerry shows had moments that were considered racists by some. But overall the shows were great (the old shows).

Song of the South was not good at all. When it is released, no one will be enjoying it.

How is this racist?

>Old Tom and Jerry shows had moments that were considered racists by some.

Faceless chubby black lady was based as fuck.

Bill Cosby would.

jesus christ, what was raimi thinking?
