Judge. Post.
3x3 thread
Why do people post these 3x3 with random screengrabs from the movie, which makes it impossible for people who haven't seen it to identify and even difficult for those who have? It's such a fucking faggot thing to do.
>He hasn't watched literally every film ever made
FUCKING PLEB
OUT OF MY BOARD
>ebin samurai
hello /jp/
actually this
Unless it's part of a poster like 8½ and Seven Samurai, the rest are almost unidentifiable. One of them has only like... less than half the ensemble cast in it.
I can recognize them all, but I agree, posters should be used instead.
posters are shit way to pique interest
the purpose is to make an iteresting and aesthetic grid to look at. each one expresses himself through his 3x3, if everyone makes a 3x3 posters they'll all look the same
Because random screengrabs are so much better right? Even better when the person, like OP here doesn't even fucking respond to any questions on what movies they are. Yeah, great. Fuck off cunt.
spooky edition thread is dead, so posting here
What's top middle please ?
>telling people which movies you enjoy is an artform
What's the most pretentious way of saying I enjoyed Groundhog Day?
Melencolia
Melancholia*
Not OP but I can name them all,
royal tenembaums
melancholia
8 1/2
the cameraman
snatch
carnage
zodiac
some like it hot
seven samurai
I was first, this is not fair. I'm telling Hiro
Is that Les Diaboliques? Very nice
Royal Tenenbaums > Melancohlia > no idea, To Kill a Mocking Bird, maybe? Through a Glass Darkly? > no clue > nope > Carnage > nope > Some Like it Hot > Seven Samurai
None of the ones I recognized are bad. Carnage was kind of meh, it worked better as a play, but I don't feel worse having seen it.
Inland Empire is a masterpiece
>Because random screengrabs are so much better right?
They're not random and they're far better.
And if you can't ID OP's films you need to go through IMDB 250 lmao
>if they're all recognisable
pleb
>if they're all unrecognisable
pseud
no exceptions
what website to make? i forgot
bighugedongs.com
whats the right middle one?
Grace full I am. Thanks!
Repulsion
Royal Tenenbaum, Melancholia, 8 1/2
Cameraman, Snatch, Carnage
Zodiac, Someone like it hot, Seven samurai
thanks

Is this a joke?
Patrish.
I need to see that Parajanov film, I loved "Color of the Pomegranates" so much.
no I'm not a patrician, at least compared to other people in this board
I've never liked Pomegranate, I don't know why, Shadows of our forgotten ancestors gave me another experience, hard to explain
might watch Ashik Kerib soon though
No it's fucking not. I love these films for the way they handle the psychological dark side of humanity (And Spielberg's War of the Worlds is incredibly brilliant). Of course having an image of Jared Leto's Joker is me referring to the Extended Cut of Suicide Squad with more Joker that we will probably never see.
...
Underage v&
Is this a Joke?
Is this Necromantic on the top and in the middle?
What is the problem with my films? Because I list films that not many know about or watch whilst others list films that everyone knows is bad?
>It's a "user hates another anons movies for no apparent reason" episode
hah I have no idea what movie is on the top middle but I was listening to music an hour ago on youtube and the youtuber had that picture as their account thumbnail
I can't wait until twin peaks season 3. It's gonna be great.
Sure is
youtu.be
What were you listening to? Might be one of my accounts
Haven't seen anything amazing recently to be honest
What's bottom right?
>What were you listening to?
This song here
youtube.com
Fucking brutal album
Blackwoods.
It's really good.
>Guy accidentally murders girl when he was drunk driving. Develops demons which haunt him through his life until they ruin his life completely.
It has a low rating because it is directed by "Uwe Boll" but believe me is very good.
What could you have possibly liked about suicidd squad?
...
I'd love to see this film re-made, making it more horror like and make it inspired by Jacob's Ladder with actual creatures and demonic entities that he imagines.
The plot twist of the film is very good. Something that I was not expecting at all.
> psychological dark side of humanity
I like the alternate extended cut of the film
Is Ichi the memer worth watching?
There is no such cut
>There is no such cut
It existed mate but it was never released
Kill yourself stupid fuck
Just like fans of Jodorowsky's Dune. It wasn't even filmed but all the storyboards and artwork prove it would have been such an incredible film.
Whereas the alternate extended cut (i.e. David Ayer's original cut) was all filmed until WB denied it and it was re-edited.
w-wow you sure showed him
>even difficult for those who have
are you serious here?
I recognize the 4 movies out of 9 that I have watched and 2 more that I haven't
Have you even looked at all the behind the scenes footage?
I am referring to the original cut of the film which had longer Joker scenes.
You can find all the behind footage of his deleted scenes around the internet.
This extended cut of the film better explains why Harley follows Joker anyway after she kills a guy and defends Joker. No idea why WB cut that bit out yet left her shooting randomly in a flashback... makes no fucking sense
It's pretty hit or miss. The movie is pretty eccentric, even for a Japanese one. The main characters are basically Leto Joker and a literally autistic superhero wannabe. I like it because its goofy and has cool scenes but I think it's definitely worth watching once at least. Never seen it while DUDEing but I imagine itd be good
>To Kill a Mocking Bird, maybe?
Fucking Buster Keaton in To Kill a Mockingbird? Really?
damn, harvey keitel looks like THAT?
Judge me

What do those numbers mean? The movies you also know or those you approve as "good"?
The numbers mason, what do they mean?

These threads have been getting alot of attention recently its nice
Pleb and proud.
There is literally nothing wrong with being a proud pleb. The problem is plebs that think they are something else
What's the movie where Cinema paradiso is written?
let me google that for you.jpg
9/9 senpai
maybe a little pleb
Only Lovers Left Alive is fucking great. So many themes and ideas crammed into one movie and it still works.
girl with a dragon tatoo is your favorite fincher movie or you simply don't like the others he made?
I enjoy Dragon Tattoo the most out of all his films, even if it probably isn't his best one.
best user
Hi
I thought Rubber was terrible and i usually like that sort "art" films
Absurd comedy isn't for everyone, especially pushed this far. Have you seen some of Dupieux' other movies ?
Do you like Le charme discret de la bourgeoisie ? It's probably more accessible and more liked.
Cinema paradiso my brotha, my family came over from Italy and they always cry when we watch it together. Great choices
In that case you totally need to watch pic related. You will love it.
Thanks homie I'll check it out

this board is fucking horrible
can i get a list pls?
why is it so full of new faggots?
The first Kick-Ass was actually funny and a fine adaption. The second though...
>give me recs pls
You might enjoy early Almadovar
I agree.
I read Kick-Ass 2 before the movie came out and literally knew every single scene that wasn't gonna make it into the movie.
I was right and the movie fucking sucked.
I wasn't even mad that they tamed it down but compared to the first one the humor and the timing felt out of place. The first one was a parody not only of superhero movies, but also made fun of teen-movie tropes and pop-culture in general. The sequel just felt like a dumb teen movie and used the "lmao pop-culutural references" humor the first one deconstructed. This almost made me angry.
I've seen Double Life and Millennium Mambo. Double life is one of my favorite films and Millennium Mambo is real solid too. I'll give the others a look
I saw Goodbye, Dragon Inn in theaters and was blown away by the control of the whole thing and impressed by concept Tsai was going for but it was just too slow for me at times and felt just a little self indulgent. Any other titles you'd recommend? I've heard good things about his Walker series
Any specific titles?
Tabu (2012), L'humanité, The Long Day Closes
...

>Any specific titles?
Judging your taste you might like La ley del deseo

Not the user who posted the chart but why didn't you like Koyaanisqatsi?
I knew they would be another Cloud Atlas fan out there.
Keep up the good fight, brother.
what a game attempt at non narrative
i enjoy it, but some autists who make them spoil the shit out of the films, 3x3's are good ways to show the aesthetic of the film most of the time.
Tame
i like you

I well aware this is bait yet it still triggers me

love this a lot, that's my favorite Ruiz along with Manoel on the island of wonders, what do you think of that one?
Also love Mediterranee a lot
Didn't quite like Still Lives, do you like "pictures from the old world"?
What do you think of the Zanzibar?
Have you seen Finisterrae (2010)?
you have a very different taste than most people in these threads
Still need to see Othon though
Also fuck me didn't notice La Formula Secreta, fucking love it
I got to see it in theaters, fell in love with it
have you read his book on it? (Ruben Gamez)
Seems like some shitty crossposting autist that keeps being the OP.
Film is one of the largest mediums and much more popular than games and books.
i just want to watch something beautiful
Honestly i just made a list of what i thought of as refined patrician choices of the films I've seen. Only about half I would put in my top 100 (ruiz, pollet, garrel) and a top 9 would be half films from mainstream art house directors.
Straub/hulliet is painful for me as someone who speaks no french, italian, or german.
Been meaining to see Finisterrae and not sure what Zanzibar is.
oh well
Zanzibar film group, Garrel, Bard, Raynal
>saw it in theatres
Jealous as fuck desu. Are you Mexican by chance? I haven't read of anyone seeing it in theatres outside of mexico.
Rate it
yes I'm mexican, I love it so much, the book is incredible, talks about Blood of the beasts, Chris Marker, Rulfo and includes a lot of photographs from the film and other Gamez shorts, also newspaper and book extracts, it's pretty nice
I'm jealous of the guy who uploaded it to the internet, that V/H/S is impossible to find!

Also the one who posted charts by decades, he had interesting choices and I liked the way he discussed films
Good times
Hope you enjoy the Adachi film!
Posters are literally made to pique interest, you fucking faggot
A screenshot of a film is far more honest and way better in raising interest to me :v9
yea
I only recognize Ratcatcher, hit me with the titles user

whats up
Just giving some obligatory pleb hate so we can all move on with our lives. Other than Star Wars and clockwork orange these aren't that bad though
I wasn't very sure about exactly those two actually, I was thinking a series of unfortunate events, scott pilgrim vs. the world or the king's speech instead
You should watch La Haine, I think you would like it
I will watch it
Whadya think?
No idea what any of these are. Titles would be helpful.
The Cameraman isn't even close to the best Keaton. The General, Steamboat Bill Jr. or even Cops are.
Upper left corner is Closely Watched Trains.
Come at me, faggots. Call me a pleb, I dare you, fuckers.

Nuits Rouges.
What's top left?
An HBO documentary called "Superheroes", it's my favorite movie of all time.
It's about these real people who dress up as superheroes and go out and try to help people and stop crime. It's really funny and really tragic, but also a heartwarming honest movie. Even if you don't agree with what these guys are doing, by the end of the film you gotta have respect for their dedication and intentions
