Is it worth it?

Is it worth it?

Yes. Imax movies get mixed independently of the original film to make it better. the time technology and love that goes into imax movies is beyond what you'd think, frankly, as an average movie goer.

It's not just a hardware upgrade. there's an entire philosophy.

those are kino pods m8

>people spend $1000s on a 4k screen and speakers and shitty blurays instead of just going to the fuckin theater and watching this thingy

you know what ruins an 'IMAX experince'?

That faggot next to you with his 2 screaming kids/friends/hawks

You get what you pay for.

a fucking leaf?

Too bad it's impossible to find an imax showing that isn't 3d now

You're a big goy

I don' t know about that. Home theatre experience is invaluable. Being able to customize colour/contrast/etc and adjust sound to ones liking is key. 4khdthanksyify is still a lot more crisp than IMAX too, which has always just felt like upscaled 640x480 videos to me. Theatre screens are blurr, low brightness and contrast, low fps. Movie theatres are going to have to step it up if they have any chance at continuing to exist.

No fair! None of my post have leaves... ;_;

It's alright.

i also like CC on

the human eye can't actually process that number of pixels so it's just unnecessary quality, except for for your falcon

this is not true, what the eye can capture and what the eye perceives is different.

Yeah me too for some shows/movies, huge convenience.

There's always a difference because in reality we're use to seeing everything at max frame rate, in max quality, with max sound quality.

everything else is just an emulation, and the better quality the closer to the reality we're trying to emulate.

I need a fucking proof regarding the last thing. No way it could be seen from space.

anything past yify is basically just placebo

how to make it go away?

This is bait. (You)

we talking frame rate, audio sampling or pixel count?

IMAX Theaters don't allow food and drink inside.

>was told I had to leave my eagle hooded during the presentation.

No, what really ruins it is the proliferation of LieMAX and the fact that the only real screen within 100 miles of anywhere that isn't NYC, Miami, Chicago, Boston or LA is a science museum that doesn't show feature films.

Not true, I was at the Pallisades Center to see Pacific Rim and got a large Icee and nachos.

y-yes this guy is right. I've watched mad max on my laptop and was the same shit as IMAX, lol niggas wasting money

>cinema = €15 for ticket + €10 for additional snacks (optional but necessary)
>€1000 for 4k tv + decent speakers and additional player
>1000 / 25 = 40

after about 2 years you'll have saved on buying the setup youreself

theres also loads of porn available in 4k which you cant see in the cinema

:DDDDD

learn fucking english

2bh I haven't gone to one in like over 10 years. I've been to IMAX theatres in both the US and UK and none of them allowed food inside, even though they sold typical movie food outside.

The ones I've been to were Johnson Space center, Moody Gardens, London Science Museum and Glasgow Science Centre.

no u

What is this? Fuck. I caught it just by replying. Shit. Run. Save yourselves.

In Boston we have had a curved omnimax Imax theater at our Museum Of Science for decades. I remember going there as a kid in the 80s and 90s. Nimoy even recorded an intro for it.

Yes, field trips to the pacific science theater as a kid where we watched imax documentaries were awesome, it's a shame every imax movie is in 3d now though, the reusable goggle type glasses at the nearby imax are super tight and give me a headache.

>low FPS
So is your home theatre?

Laptop? I watched it on my smartwatch while commuting.

They used to, but the local cinema pressured the distributors. They still do it for some older films, but it is disappointing.

to be fair hawks are surprisingly quiet (at least more than the average kid) in IMAX cinemas

Come to Mexico then. In my city there's an IMAX dome and it rarely shows 3d films, we have several other theaters (including 4d) for that

ya when they're well trained (this goes for hawks too)

>4d

I fuckin hate you

>digital IMAX

I put on CC if I'm watching something like Beasts of no Nation or if its exceedingly british

I no see leaf

Pretty sure I had snacks when I saw 10 CLoverfield Lane in IMAX (pretty much a waste of an extra 8 bucks but the movie was good so whatever)

Smartwatch? I watched on my Google Glass while jogging

I always put on subs if niggers appear, I just can't understand ebonics well

Well I live in the Atlanta metro area so it's like a second language to me

I hope you get cancer

how much would it be worth after I rub my shit on the lense?

Finally we can watch high res cuckporn off the moon at need be.

>cops kill innocent black children all the fucking time
Name five completely innocent black children who were killed by cops.

>mexico is a pretty peaceful countries
what did he mean by this

>falling for BLM propaganda
Most of the BLM martyrs were thugs who were practically begging to be shot. The only exception that immediately comes to mind is Eric Garner.

>mexico
>peaceful country

Mexico is pretty peaceful overall, its the border cities that are fucked completely
