The Big Lebowski: Masterpiece or Cult movie?

...

Why not both?

Just did some mandatory monthly screening, it's both.

I'd say it's both, but I love the film so much and it's become so cozy to watch whenever, that I've lost all ability to accurately critique it.

literally SA: The Movie

One of the Coen's best. Definitely their best comedy.

Unlike, say, Fight Club, memes and shitty fandom can't diminish its status as a great movie.

Modern day neo noir classic.

This. Is was an early runner in post modernism and deconstruction, which the cohen brothers are pretty excellent at.

I was watching 'Generation Kill' earlier today and there's one scene where some retards in the background are riffing on it and quoting lines. "We're going to fuck you up, Lebowski". Made me giggle.

Great film, very comfy, it's my pleb filter.

It's one

it's both

how can anyone really hate this movie? It has everything.

Definitely overrated.
It has no point, things just happen for ninety minutes then it ends.

sa?

I still lose it when he crashes his car into the dumpster.

You're out of your element Donnie

...

The Chinaman is not the issue here, dude!

Is that something Kermode actually said? I honestly had no idea.

>things just happen for ninety minutes then it ends.

Just like every other movies or the life itself

Just rewatched it a few months back, it's a lot funnier than I remember.
Also holy shit all the characters are so fantastic.

it's a timeless film

first time I watched that scene I laughed like a madman. IIRC correctly they quote it several times in the show.
