star wars episode 1 the phantom menace
pulp fiction
The second fight from this.
The Three & Four Musketeers from the 70s.
The Princess Bride cliff fight between The Dread Pirate Roberts and Montoya.
this one
Troy, easily. Also wins for spear duel, even though thats not very common.
Next best swordplay I've seen in a film would be Gladiator, followed unironically by this
swords > guns confirmed
CIA vs jackie chan
context?
"lee me 'lone"
Rob Roy, no comparison
With out a doubt.
>Jackie Chan don wan no trubble but wants to bring friends vs CIA
Who wins, lads?
Rob Roy fool
Either this is fake or that Andrew Zimmern lokking guy is the most alpha fucker alive.
House of Flying Daggers.

That's a big sword
Hell yeah motherfuckers. It's so simple but you don't know what's going to happen next.
Alatriste is about as authentic as it gets for the time period.
If I stab you with this sword, will you die?
This and Helen's ass were the only good things about Troy
Discount Conan vs. Red Sonja.
I remember way back when I was reading the IMDB message boards for that movie for some reason, and some guy posted about how this was such a great fight because they actually got tired in it. He said he knew this was true because it happened all the time in his broadsword recreation club.

ESB Luke vs Vader. There's so many things going on in that fight.

This hasn't been posted yet.
Pretty much any scene from Hero.
Hes a child and not trained traditionally
man this movie was good, also it took my forever to realize the kid playing charlie chaplin was Kickass
One of my least favorite tropes on the planet it the whole
>he fights but he beats them without killing / maiming / etc them
It's the most egregiously bullshit trope on Earth. The stuff of puerile degenerate myth made palatable for soccer moms.
Fuck Kenshin.
the only actually good one itt
It's shit compared to this
Check the file name
>pls notice me senpai
Can anyone tell me where this is from?
Sojiro was just there to stall.
Kenshin's sword breaks while Sojiro's sword gets chipped and cracked rendering it unusable (this is shown more clearly in the anime). So Sojiro stops once Shishio escapes.
It was a Pyrrhic victory by Sojiro.
Harakiri = Pure 100% distilled Samurai kino
Something from one of the first two Lone Wolf and Cub movies.
Holy shit how have I never seen this? I'm watching this movie tomorrow.
This.
Also the ending of Miike's re-make was based.
DUEL WIELD
I've never heard of a show called 1461934505956 before.
I know I'll get tarred and feathered for this, and I know it's spinny glow sticks for show. But I am always amazed at this scene.
: (
i feel sorry for people like this
I think you mean the 1st fight m8

BUYING GF, PRESS 123
great movie
not only is this the best Macbeth adaptation, but this scene alone is so fucking great that it elevates it to the status of best shakespeare film.
probably the best scene in the prequels desu
...
Hero opening
Also a good one in the Polanski hamlet movie
Came in here to say this. Well done, anons.
These kids are a little old to be playing "Kingdom Hearts". The disappointment their fathers must have felt after seeing this....
why cant he do that in game of thrones?
This fag doesn't know how to sword fight for his life. This is actually terrible
13 Assassins has some good ones
>mfw CIA vs Bronn next season
The ending of Highlander (1985)
There is none. You can't make a fake sword fight look real.
If this were real life and you were standing in front of me, I'd literally hold you down and shit on your head.
Polanskis Macbeth is very realistic.
woah, pretty cool dudes.
>America still hasn't banned Assault Swords
>implying amerifats are able to use them with their mobility scooters
I prefer this to be honest youtube.com
But I misread duels as fights.
>not jousting with swords and mobility scooters
It's like /r9k/ trying to hold up a store
>you missed out on an amazing autistic tripp pants weird kids at school childhood
Maybe next time
That movie is GOAT as fuck
>ITT: niggas don't know shit about shit
youtube.com
One of the few good scenes in any western produced Jackie Chan film.
damn, that was pretty good actually.
>not knowing jousting requires a lance
>being this new
Yeah easily.
> I know it's spinny glow sticks for show
The same is true of the fight choreography in the OT.
>I CAN'T KILL YOU YOU'RE A PART OF ME
>You're a fool, Sora
>honk
That made me kek way too hard.

One of my favorite movies tbqh, famerlane.
This is my personal favorite. Roth's a great villain.
GOAT
Not really tv related but still cool
youtube.com
That's legitimately impressive. Which Zorro is this from?
damn this shit was legit as fuck
That clear one functions pretty well as a jitte.
It's pretty hard to intimidate ethnic people. Western countries are so safe and developed that any hint of violence is a story. Guys like that have probably seen way worse. Even the Indian guys working in my local convenience store are alpha as fuck.
mark of zorro, 1940
>No Seagal swordfight posted ITT
What's wrong with you
I carry a knife on my person, but honestly I'm pretty sure I couldn't use it to defend myself without getting completely fucked over by the law. Do you have to deal with this in the UK? In Australia, I'm pretty sure if I stabbed a guy who was trying to rob me, I'd get a visit from the police.
Sure you can, but they're just not movie friendly. A realistic sword fight between two main characters is likely to end in 15 seconds and be gruesome as all hell.
>I carry a knife on my person
Not smart, in Aus if you get get caught with that you're fucked and if you use it you're double fucked. Basically the government doesn't like the idea of a planned defense or the idea of a defender using more power than the attacker.
Yeah, more and more I've been switching out my folder for a Victorinox or a Leatherman because at least I can say it's a tool that I use throughout the day (I do) rather than a weapon. But if something happens, my options are pretty limited either way.
I have a tactical pen, but I don't think it's much better.
youtube.com
pure saberkino :^)
That's a better alternative, I guess they don't like the idea of someone carrying a knife, picking a fight and then using it in 'self-defense'. But the law is still retarded.
>my options are pretty limited either way.
I know a lot of guys have personal security concerns. Is it a 'just in case' kind of situation, or is there a genuine likelihood of you being attacked/mugged?
you're a chinese guy
are you guys stupid?
when will the british newspapers get sued for telling stupid fake stories all the time
youtube.com
do hammers count?
The majority of the time now, it's a just in case thing. I've moved and no longer feel like I need to be alert all the time. That being said, I have had a couple break-ins. Not much I could do, because I was out. I don't really have anything worth stealing either.
Probably this one

for yu
guandao is almost like a sword?
>People who don't understand the law
If you have a genuine belief you need to defend yourself then a knife is fine.
As long as you have no other option than to fuck them up.
youtube.com
not sure if shit, posting anyway
Where are you from, though? I've heard some horror stories from people here in Australia.
That's about as much as he said in the interview afterwards.
probably because they're the only actors itt with an actual background in fencing and not just a 2-6 week bootcamp on play swordfighting
they're like 15 years old and they do pretty good choreography, why is everyone shitting on them? If they were in their 20's or something ok but they're just high schoolers.
I dunno, but I like the old Errol Flynn fights.

The Count of Monte Cristo
Best sword fighting scenes ever. Also very realistic and that grants extra points of course.
Pirates of the Caribbean has some good fights. The swordplay is pretty average, but the direction and the situations are always good.
youtube.com
>Helens ass
where do u live in aus that youd be scared?
The only good ones I've seen were in the Duelists. They're actually realistic.
>Guys like that have probably seen way worse
Definitely this. To most of them this is pretty much paradise and worse things can happen back home like prolonged torture.
Even the robber has no aggression to him.
Really glad I didn't watch this movie now, that was fucking stupid
Do you suck dick too faggot?
I AM INIGO MONTOYA, YOU SHOT MY POPS, GET FUCKED
>You'll never again be an awkward 16/17 year old boy having play sword fights with the other weeb kids at school
>'Where are your friends now?'
Where indeed...
Realistic is not the best.
For you.
I watched this flick but couldn't grok it. It's not funny, the action was stilted and the story schizo (electrical torture wtf?). I don't get why people spout lines from it.
Both of them had actual fencing experience.
>anakin vs obi wan
prove me wrong
The stereotypes tho
Basil Rathbone would've made a great James Bond.
>all these 2-3 seconds cuts
aren't there some swords fight scenes who took actually skill?
...
Check the thread you imbecile.
>Check the thread you imbecile.
>>>all these 2-3 seconds cuts
nice reading comprehension
You're retarded, aren't you?
>i don't know how long 2-3 seconds last
ok
Pussies use swords
Real men fight with their hands

>guandao is almost like a sword?
Only if you take the part that makes it a polearm. Otherwise, it's more like a pike.
Also, Yunchang's fight with Whang Zhi was the best fight in that movie.
>one more
>gives him a total of four chances
What did he mean by this?
the only good one in all the thread
how about well-written sword fights?
youtube.com
...
Ironclad is pretty shit but it has James Purefoy halfswording a fucking longsword. holy shit.
Holy shit source??
Can't even tell if CIA is a meme or actually a good actor. From the "fudge packing" soliloquy to this.
"Chaos is a Laddah" Mayor of Baltimore is an excellent actor, which is the reason why he is allowed to be CIA itself in the first place
I can see some of the attacks being anticipated but that is still way better than the rest of the thread.
him having that sword makes as much sense as a soldier from the Revolutionary War having an m16
selling rune scimmy
