Internal affairs is better apparently

What didn't you like about it? It's a little longer than it should be but style wise I've always enjoyed it.

IT'S INFERNAL AFFAIRS YOU FUCKING PLEBEIAN

I FUCKING HATE YOU RETARDS WHO CAN'T EVEN GET THE NAME OF A FILM CORRECT

FUCK
OFF
FUCK
OFF

The way Leonardo have a lot of development and just get killed out of nowhere outrage me

Mark Wahlberg is a faggot

listen kid. if you never saw this in the cinema with your dad when you were 6 back in 2006, then you have no FUCKING idea what your talking about

Citizen Kane.
While technically masterful, the story was an uninteresting piece of trash.

two different films famalamia

It's meh

Best film ever. Every quote is memorable, jack nicholson is legendary as usual

Infernal affairs is the one departeds based on

>"think"

Try using correct punctuation.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it's shit, but I still hated it

Raging Bull and Blade Runner
Neither were shit but I didn't like them that much

I can see what people find in Raging Bull though

Really? I loved it, couldn't get enough.

What a boring piece of shit this was

This.

Nobody liked this

Interstellar received positive reviews from critics. In review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a rating of 71% based on 294 reviews, with a rating average of 7.5/10. The site's critical consensus reads, "Interstellar represents more of the thrilling, thought-provoking, and visually resplendent film-making moviegoers have come to expect from writer-director Christopher Nolan, even if its intellectual reach somewhat exceeds its grasp."[142] On Metacritic, another review aggregator, the film has a score of 74 out of 100 based on 46 critics, indicating "generally favorable reviews".[143]

It's my favourite movie of all time. I'm serious

Creed was borderline unwatchable shit and completely unnecessary piece of trash. Can't understand how people liked that trash.

The Departed isn't great, but it's an alright watch.

What annoys me the most is when hipsters actually believe Infernal Affairs is better, when it's not. It's actually a pretty shit film.

I liked it. The problem with interstellar is that it's set up as hard sci-fi while it's more science fantasy in a gritty wrapping. Nolan just wanted to say "look how cul space is".

>What annoys me the most is when hipsters actually believe Infernal Affairs is better, when it's not. It's actually a pretty shit film.
This.

never understood the hate around the departed. thought it was ironic when i first saw it online.

have posted it before in these threads, but not even joking this is borderline in the 50 worst movies ive ever seen.

3/10, and before you start, no, i haven't only seen like 400 or so (roughly 2000 which isn't much to be proud of) but to be fair i don't make a habit of watching bad movies.

this is truly a piece of garbage though, from the contrived storyline (and then it got worse!) and forced cinematography, to the cringey performances and dialogue, to the flat out inappropriate hamfisted sci-fi references in a non sci-fi movie.. and people ate this shit up. unfuckingreal.

the overwhelming acclaim is so over the top that part of me can't help but wonder if there was something behind the scenes or some kind of agenda. this fucking thing won oscars! i just don't get it. the overdone cinematography was technically great (but again, overdone, as usual from chivo) and the sound editing was solid, but everything else was fucking terrible.

whatever

See you in two years bud :)

That's right, I went there. This movie is boring as shit. Does anybody like this who isn't American?

It is shot far far worse both practically and stylistically.
The overall storyline is better and the characters are more developed.

idi na hui suka

>This movie is boring as shit
Holy shit you fucking ADHD mongoloid

...

Absolutely correct. It gets far too much praise for the technical shit.

I wouldn't go as low as 3/10. Maybe 4 or 5. But it's definitely not worth 96%.

THANK YOU

found the dude with ADD

>coming from an autist that gets triggered in a thread like this
kek

The Departed is fucking great pal.

Great atmosphere, scenery, and especially editing. Nicholson is legendary in it too.

Gook Affair is garbage compared to Departed.

It Follows.

It has the premise of a bargain-rate German porn film and it tries to make you think it's brilliant at every turn. Hey look, we're quoting Dostoevsky! Hey look, a pretty tree! Hey look, implied sex/violence/abuse! Pretentious shit.

It's a good film, but it's really fucking overrated. I think it's one of the lesser coen films

how is that movie boring? not american either

I found this so boring that I'm pretty sure if I watched it now I would like it.

There's no way it was as bad as I thought, because I thought it was fucking irredeemable.

Agreed. On the topic of shitty horror/thrillers, Green Room was trash too.

>whitey has to steal asiankino because all they can make is capeshit

I like both of them, but I fucking love the Departed. Nicholson, Damon, and DiCaprio are all fucking fantastic.

I'm not American, but I really enjoyed it. I can sit down and watch it any time and not get bored. Rarely is that the case.

MURF

this is new lad
he likes to send love notes to strangers he just met
he reminds people to conform to social norms on a regular basis
he also posts his extremely important meta critic reviews in hebrew so no one can read them
post new lad whenever someone talks about a movie that just wasn't up to par with anything jj abrams touched

Green Room had a cool premise. I wish it would've delivered on being actually frightening.

The only thing i liked was the arm scene

sacrilege not mentioning marky mark. he had a great performance even if it wasnt the most demanding role, he fit it perfectly

Probably the most overrated thing a camera has ever been pointed at

Fuck this boring shit.

>tfw took half the movie to realize that damon and dicaprio aren't the same person

are you a fucking retard?

It's just a great movie. It has energy behind it like most scorsese movies.

Anyone hating on The Departed is a tryhard faggot

are you a chink? how can you not tell?

a camera pointed at a movie?

what did he mean by this?

Same with Paul Dano in There Will Be Blood, except I didn't figure it out till after the movie was over when I checked the wiki to try to figure out who the fuck Paul was.

I appreciate you saving me the effort. Fuck knows I thought it was a hell of a lot better the first time ie when it was called Nashville.

You'll pardon me for being less impressed by simian-faced dwarves trying to look like the hard men they transparently aren't. *You* would have made a better fist of the role than he did.

me too

Are you, perchance, vietnamese?

It's less than the sum of its parts.

n-no

I will be, user. I will be.

This, I was confused as fuck through out most of the movie.

This may sound retarded but I thought the whole deal was that the first Paul sold the land just for cash and then pretended he never met Daniel before, because a priest selling land for money would have been greedy or something.

It kind of fucked up my first viewing because it ended with me being really confused after I noticed they began talking about a brother.

>There Will Be Blood

there's another one

I would have? I have CYSTIC FIBROSIS

its okay user we all make mistakes

>and then pretended he never met Daniel before

I thought the exact same thing.

At this very moment, I am playing Awakening and planning to marry you, Lucina.

>hey everyone remember that all round 7/10 film!

Literally every major mafia movie. They're 5/10 or 6/10 flicks. I don't get it.

And you'd have been a terrific creepy cop coughing up his own dissolving lungs. Meanwhile Mark Wahlberg's shit.

>7/10 is a bad score!

Infernal affairs are much more subtle

Departed is like written by a 13 y/o boy just fuck this fuck that mother fucker fucky fuck fuck

feels more like GTA than god father

Hope that's useful to you.

I don't get it. Is it *worth* getting?

I wanted to like this but I couldn't. I don't see where the good reviews come from. Story was bad, I didn't feel for any of the characters, acting was so so, jokes were shit I never laughed once.

>that photoshopped jawline on Dicaprio

lol

Who the fuck at the studio looked at Ryan Gosling and Russel Crowe and thought ''These guys are perfect for comedy''.

Kek. That's pretty funny you think that, as so many fags think it's the #1 Nolan film.
I thought it was good too, but it's low level for me.

He was probably implying you're a sloppy unattractive neckbeard criticizing a famous actor /model.

It looks good on the big screen. That was the point. Aesthetic.

I don't know they are both great actors I think with a better story and director they could work

I just watched it on HBO but, I thought Deadpool was beyond shit.

Don't worry, I thought the same. Or rather had the same problem.
It's not the problem that they look similar (well, they do actually but obviously you can tell the difference). It's the beginning scene, showing them growing up and shit. It's fucking confusing as to who is who for a long time. Even on rewatches, I can't follow it. Biggest weakness of the film, but even then, it's not so bad.

the accountant who'd been told to work up a tax writeoff

casino is over-rated trash

casino is good fellas plus sharon stone

you don't improve things by adding sharon stone

unless it's early 90s soft porn

Be older, faggot

good answer.

i can tell purely from the fact that its easy to tell, but also the fact that matt damons younger actor has that same dumb look on his face the whole time

I don't get the praise for this movie, the first one is far superior. This is when the series went full meme and it lost me.

It's one of Oscar Academy's biggest fuck ups.

They loaded it with Oscars because Scorsese deserved to win the best director award various times in his career and he was always snubbed.

pleb

...

I thought it was pretty okay. Allot better than The Host, fuck that movie.

Him and Alec Baldwin were the perfect comedic balance for the heavy subject matter. I like this character as much as any other character in the movie. When I first saw it it, before I really appreciated the rest of it he was my favorite part of the movie by far.

Say hello to your mother for me.

no, the oscars was afraid that scrosese has finally ran out of ideas when they see him ripping off chink flicks and made that embarrassing piece of shit. So they gave him the oscar in case his next flick is even worse and worse and even more unjustifiable

DUDE SYMBOLISM LMAO

I had this problem with Ralph Fiennes and Liam Neeson in Schindler's List. i really thought they were stretching that "moral ambiguity" a bit much

Big Lebowski

Blade Runner

>Raging Bull

I'll defend it. I normally hate the greaser movies and any sports movie but this is awesome for the bitch management schemes. Made me realise the only way to win in serial monogamy is to aggressively feign wanting to control them and doing your own thing. And a good visual reminder that you should never want absolute trust, give your trust incrementally and verify.

trips of truth

The people who like pulp fiction are so desperate for authentic conversation and the feeling of comraderie that they will admire the intricate power fantasies of an ugly cuckentino.

If it's a 10+ year old movie, you don't have my pity

Replace this with Zero Dark Thirty.

I really disliked Chighur's hair; it looks so out of place.

I really dislike a thin red line and I forgot why

As soon as they mention "Sieg Heil" in those filler transmissions you instantly know how they are going to crack it, so for half of the film all characters acted like retards because they didn't immediately applied this shitty pattern, everyone was awful, even BC he attempted on several occasions to pull a Sherlock for no reason, he is not a shit actor, he was fucking great at Stuart, no one just gave a shit to correct it.

bomb squad

spends 10% of their time disarming bombs, 70% of their time shooting people, 20% of their time dry humping each other

This movie is overrated as fuck and your average Law and Order episode has better cinematography.

It's praise is strictly from the pedigree of the big name cast, director and source material. But the actual execution was shit.

he said he picked the wig out himself cuz his daughter is a huge dora the explorer fan.

Same here.

Except for the ending sequence

Paprika is literally the worst movie on this list and besides Donnie Darko the only bad one.

It's easily Kon's worst and the shittiest movie on the list.

>thinks avatar is good
>calls anyone plebs
This better be post-irony.

Infernal Affairs is over stylized, over dramatized and over acted like nobodies business. Hardly "more subtle". No one even cared about this shit fest, especially you faggots on this board, until the Departed was released anyway. The Departed trimmed all the fat thru 3 convoluted unnecessary films and condensed it into one excellent movie.

>casino
>overrated trash

lol sorry no

>casino is goodfellas plus sharon stone

Glad someone said it.

The whole thing felt pointless. It was like an action star was put in the middle of the Iraq war and broke the rules to look cool.
Inglourious Basterds should've won screenplay and picture.

Dude, there's a reason why it's the highest grossing movie of all time.

It's a good action film, but really

>sad scene between father and son in dream
>dramatic music

That is the best scene of the movie that nobody talks about.

If you're a fuckin' queea

Departed is kino

>This movie is boring as shit.

Holy shit what's wrong with you?

...

I mean, I love that scene. It made me tear up. I'm a sucker for father-son scenes.

But if you think about what's really going on, they just wrote that into his dream to fool him.

Patrician detected. I'm serious too. It a masterpiece that makes a movie like 2001 look like a joke.

Yeah but you've never met anyone you basement dwelling faggot.

The Night of the Hunter

Well you know, it's just like, your opinion man

fuck off cassidy

it was just an obvious scene explaining the obvious point of this obvious movie. There is no depth, there is no redemption, there is no meaning other than the one established in the first seconds with the quote, war is a drug blabla. That is all the movie says and means to say, other than that more shit writing, half decent acting and horrible camera work (oscar nomination my ass)

what is your point, nigger?

92% RT

the point is your nigger ass pleb who can't tell a good movie if it smacks you in the face. stick to capeshit and nolan bull shit if you want plot and meaning spoon fed to your ass.

are there other movies with war addicts?

literally every star wars movie desu

not that guy, but odyssey was weird and boring

Seriously fuck this movie. Pretentious dogshit.

I fapped too much to Moore in this movie. I can't hate it.

THIS, i saw it last week and is not a funny movie.

Let me guess, American?

not even close

pink floyd is god tier, stop being a reactionary faggot

Nazis r bad: The movie

agree

liked it until he went into the blackhole

it got really shitty from there

raging bull is a great movie by its own merit but it is an all time great if you are familiar with the real jake lamotta or boxers in general. its more of a character study on how the same things (rage, stubbornness, impulsiveness) that can make one a great boxer can ruin your family life

>film based on real chronology of events in how Project Ultra cracked the Enigma machine
>"durrrr, everyone was awful and a dum dumb."
>referring to the smartest fucking human beings England could get.
>talking about the grandfather of modern computer technology

It's like, you are a retard or something.

What if the plot was great during its time period. Just wondering.

>Amerifats calling Turing and the Project Ultra team dumb

It's shit. It's boring and annoying. It has no story. It's just Jack Nicholson and his buddies doing random things at the mental hospital. All the characters are annoying and especially Nicholson. Fuck that movie.

They were bad though. Horrible policy makers.

It's like you didn't watch the movie.

"B-but muh real things" is a pretty shitty argument desu.

Fuck you. Would like more ambitious Sci fi flicks like this senpai.

Stay mad Britfat

What schlock

Guess you just don't like fun

The scene where he does battle with his evil hand is just top tier cinema

Goes for 99% of people in these threads, but for quoting only one now: kill yourself, you fucking retard

literaly nobody thinks highly of this movie

it is just well known because they made it for $60,000 and it pulled 248 MILLION at the box office.

it started the "found footage" deal where independent filmmakers can get away with using shitty cameras etc. and say its to create the effect. it paved the way for movies like paranormal activity (budget 28 million, box office 889 million)

NOBODY ever argued the blair witch project was a good movie though

my friend made me watch it because he said it was the most accurate portrayal of the war. he was in Iraq for 7 months.

No...not when your argument is something as autistic as "why didn't they just reformat historical events to change the plot for my spergy needs because I can't accept how history unfolded?"

It's the most autistic shit I've heard so far in this thread. You are a retarded faggot.

Turing WAS gay you fucking nitwit.
>durr, stay mad britfat
I'm American, just pointing out how retarded we are being about an actual historic event...that actually happened. Why didn't the director just add zombies too?

Fucking christ, you post-millennials now who are big enough to sit at a computer think every good movie is shit. Even when it's based on a true fucking story. I swear.

u mad bro

Why did you make such a long post bitching full of lies? You're just a tourist in this shithole, anyway, but again, this post is pure fallaciousness.

agree with these

disagree with these

>Nobody thinks highly of the first and only good original example of the found footage genre.
>movie is critically acclaimed and admired as a innovating piece of film, which created it's own genre
>thinking nobody cares or thinks highly of this

why is this board so retarded now?

bottom 5 movie ive ever seen. i dont know how much you would have to pay me to make me sit through it again. its not that i didnt get the movie, its just so hamfisted and overdone. i dont need 30 minutes of convoluted whispering in the dark scenes to show the character is losing his grip on reality

phillip seymour hoffmans acting came across really pretentious as well

new

>No...not when your argument
Wasn't my argument. That was my first post.

>"why didn't they just reformat historical events to change the plot for my spergy needs because I can't accept how history unfolded?"
Which is a fair and good point and what many films end up doing because they're fucking movies.

>It's the most autistic shit I've heard so far in this thread.
No, actually you as the guy saying that historical movies shouldn't change the timeline or make changes to history at the expense of storytelling are the autistic one.

>A board for the discussion of film and televison
>nobody actually likes any film
>anons hate things like Citizen Kane and Synecdoche New York for being "boring" or "ham fisted"...

This board has always been a fucking mistake.

the movie itself sucks, everyone knows it sucks

it is simply important in film meta because it created a genre. which is designed around making money off of a low budget

it only has a 6.4 on imdb

name me one thing that is wrong in my post

...

>change a historical event to meet my autistic needs because I think the way things actually happened are boring
>not realizing that then it isn't a movie based on a historical event anymore

^This is you. You are just a faggot. Did you preorder tickets to Transformers 5 yet you obtuse retard?

I agree, this was a chore to sit through. I only watched it because it was critically acclaimed and I forgot about it rather quickly.

I don't know if this is acclaimed but I watched this recently and was pretty disappointed, probably because of Cred Forums and the fact that I liked every other Carpenter movie I've seen

I guess I wouldn't call it shit but it had no impact whatsoever on me, even at its most tense moments it wasn't that engaging or enthralling and when it was over I was just like "okay"

It felt like a lot of major moments were awkwardly portrayed too, like that meme chick's interactions with le unstoppable force man towards the end

Prince of Darkness and In the Mouth of Madness were both way better than this

>the movie itself sucks, everyone knows it sucks
Stop fucking lying you idiot

You have no idea about almost every historical film ever made. You have no idea what the word "based" even means. Jesus Christ you're actually retarded.

>Which is a fair and good point and what many films end up doing because they're fucking movies.
lol no, kiddo. No film just does a 180 and changes the complete sequence of events because you think the movie would be betterer if it was less "boring". They don't do it at the expense of the integrity of the film's depiction of events.

>"it created a genre"
>IMDB
>that dynamite circular logic based on your own gay ass
As the other lad said, kill yourself

youre the one whos lying

rottentomatoes.com/m/blair_witch_project/

only 55% of the audience liked it with an average rating of 2.6/5

it is not a beloved movie, it is only important in film meta

hello newfriend
this board used to be pretentious as shit

Calm down you fucking mouth breather

Who cares if he was gay. It wasn't part of the story and was blatant pandering.

>post-millenial
You're a millenial too you fucking asswipe, but if you're 40 years old what the fuck are you doing here

I would have been more into this movie if it focused on ultra more instead of being a character driven film. I know Turing had shit going on and was treated like garbage by the brits after the war but they really dropped the ball by making the movie about a gay guy with issues socializing instead of the project that saved countless lives and saved Britain that also happened to be worked on by a gay guy with said issues.

Have any of you fucking retards ever even watched a movie? Almost every fucking movie based on reality changes events, characters and/or the timeline. Fucking retards.

"kiddo"

>You have no idea about almost every historical film ever made
You literally want to change the film's plot to make Turing and the Ultra project to just miraculously come up with the solution to the code because in your less than developed fucking brain, you think that it was as simple as just applying this ONE systems "Heil Hitler" algorithm. You have no fucking clue about what Enigma was or why it was hard as balls to find patterns in the first place.

Your point is fundamentally a retarded one.

it created a genre based on making money off a low budget

similar to the scary movie franchise. nobody thinks highly of it but it created a specific genre of making money off pop culture references and parodies

...

I was nearly shocked when I watched this and wasn't bored to death.

I haven't made a single post about Turing or movies about Turing in this thread. How about you actually read the posts you're answering to and try to argument against those points instead of making up the arguments in your head, retard.

The point isn't changing the events, it's changing them in such a retarded fucking way just to meet your spergy needs for watching a movie because you are so riddled with ADHD that you can't sit down and follow a goddamn 2 hour film anymore if the plot doesn't spoonfeed you the answers or spoonfeeds the characters answers to meet how retarded you actually are

>The point isn't changing the events
That actually was the point you idiot.

It was really bad but the dark humor was great with friends

If only this board was pretentious. It was full of plebs, the difference is that now there's more and more by the day

Raging Bull was fucking shit and full of garbage characters.

>It wasn't part of the story and was blatant pandering.
>if it got da gays in it, it pandering
>even though Turing was gay
>even though the subtext of the plot was about his homosexuality and condemnation by the British government...for being gay
>even though the entire narrative of the fucking film is set up by the investigation into his homosexual behavior and possible spy activity
Okay, so you didn't watch the film? Gotcha. Opinion discarded then.

>dur you an idiot and a retard if I disagree with you

This board should die

Yea, it can be "fun"
But the is just so manny awfull parts to salvage it a a whole

None, because I'm not a stupid retard like the ones that are the majority of Cred Forums.
And it's not mine the abnormal behavior. Of the people in these threads pretty much none EVER has any decent criticism,or real grounds to try to attack a film.

"newfriend". Is that the new term you learned on r/Cred Forums to fit in here, tourist?

agreed

seemed like a generic crime drama. Didn't understand why people loved it

Vertigo is the most overrated trash of all time

this just hasn't aged well, seinfeld syndrome etc

Reread.

It's not about changing the events, it's about HOW you change the events.

Great argument, kiddo. Maybe you should leave this board to raise the quality.

Are you a woman?

>still caring what rotten tomatoes thinks
>thinking that this is the harbinger of audience and critic approval

It's highly regarded, mate. Whether your WB owned reddit echo chamber thinks of it or not.

I don't think you know what a post-millennial is.

Are you a virgin?

I'm from hueland and I like it.

>you instantly know how they are going to crack it
You know they are gonna crack it when you aren't a fucking retard and you know who fucking Turing is

>referring to the smartest fucking human beings England could get.
Being the smartest britcuck isn't an achievement, he's still an inbred.

THIS
the criticisms on this board about this movie is fucking retarded. I have yet to read one concrete criticism that wasn't
>gay agenda reee
>why they so dumb about the code? change the plot!

>ctrl-f "dark knight rises"
>0 results
>ctrl-f "tdkr"
>0 results
>ctrl-f "batman"
>0 results

>Alan Turing
>inbred and stupid
>Alan Turing
>stupid

WEW, LAD. Amerifats really reaching with this one, aren't they? You aren't even trying here...you are just being blatantly retarded

Maybe because those are not highly acclaimed.

>Being the smartest britcuck isn't an achievement
lol, right. Given all of the technological advances made by "britcucks"...you know...including the concept of AI and computers.

Yeah, "britcucks" HAHAHAHAHA

>87% Tomatometer
>8.5 average IMDb rating
>62 on the IMDb Top 250 Films
>not highly acclaimed

>imdb
>tomatometer

daí mano

mixed race burger tears seeping thru this post

Kino opening scene makes up for the boring post-credits scenes.

Where to start.

Overemphasizing the importance of Osama Bin Laden, pretending that anyone but the americans actually cared if the prick was dead or alive. Excuses torture, lead actor runs around being a annoying cunt for 2 hours. Excuses USA intrusion into pakistan. First 2 thirds were boring as fuck. 200 000 people dead, the middle east got thrown into a downward spiral and cost USA about 2.3 trillion dollar and this movie tries hard to convince you that all that was worth it for the death of one man. All in all a horrible patriotic circlejerk.

It's only redemable feature was the actually killing of Osama.

Those are the popularity meters fampai

>On a board that thinks Citizen Kane is overrated, that the Godfather films are boring and Alan Turing is an inbred britcuck.
>(((film and television board)))
>for ((((((discussion)))))

If you ever wonder why the world laughs at our educational system...

Got a sauce on that me bredrin?

when are we getting /ciné/

Glengarry Glen Ross
No Country for Old Men
The Godfather
Scarface
Goodfellas

hopefully never. I hope that /film/ is an aborted fetus of a concept. We don't deserve that.

>the first one is far superior
100% true.
>I don't get the praise for this movie
It's because what defines Mr. Campbell today. He is the Ash from this movie.

t. miserable cunt
name even fifty (50) motion pictures you enjoy

>The Godfather
Stop it, kids. Just...stop.

they were dumbass

>/shit taste/ general
Neat thread, OP.

This

I loved it.

I dont think it's bad, I rather think it's an ok movie, but it just comes across as tryhard to me.

And Dicaprio is overacting as always.

Explain why you think its "tryhard". Just making statements isnt a real ((opinion)) its just a statement. Its an opinion in the loosest sense that its something you said and think...you need to tell us why

This is the one movie where he never broke character. And I kept waiting for him to break character but he never did. That's why I like this movie.

Most of his movies by the end of the movie he just ends up playing Jeff Bridges.

Do you like film noir?

Not the guy you were replying to but my opinion of the movie is pretty much the opposite of tryhard.

I think it's the laziest and least artistic movie Scorsese has made

Aladdin
BioDome
Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead
Gremlins 2
Jason X
Drop Dead Fred

Fuck off retard

Thank fuck this one will end soon, but there's always some fag to make another because to get replies in them so easy.

Plebs and tourists are attracted like sharks to blood to threads about 'overrated' or 'acclaimed films that are shit'.

>highy acclaimed films you think are fucking shit
sums up Cred Forums perfectly

Was there any other popular found footage film before it?

WHY

No, because it invented the genre

KEK, you think this is only a plebs and tourists issue. Are you new to this board?

>Man Bites Dog
>Cannibal Holocaust

Varying levels of popularity, but just three( I'm sure there's plenty more, from for example other mocks):
The Last Broadcast- horror/thriller
Man Bites Dog -?drama/horror/adventure
Cannibal Holocaust -horror, subgenre cannibal

>Persona
I love this one because of all the ridiculous 2avant4u shit in the beginning, with the dancing skeleton and shit. Bravo, Bergman. It's like proto-Lynch but it's better because it came first

>neither of these are found footage films
>one is a mockumentary...not a found footage.

mockumentaries are not found footage...

Sure, but none of those were "popular".

EVERYONE was talking about Blair Witch Project when it came out.

Again and always, kill yourself

Multiple anons, kiddo.
And they are all correct.

Nice rebuttal, faggot.

>Buffalo 66
Gallo spends the first 20 minutes running around trying to pee, and a thicc Ricci tapdances to fucking "Moonchild". This is absolute kino

Of course there's more than one there, with you hopefully in the middle. Kill yourselves

They were popular, just not AS popular.
And considering the time, Cannibal was probably more popular than Witch, which had the internet factor when released.

Again, that's not an argument. If you don't have one, just leave and go lay down.

Cannibal also isn't strictly a found footage film.

I don't know why I have to keep repeating this.

Rarely when someone says that it's an argument, nor is it intended to be.
It's a piece of advice. Often refused, for the loss of the world.

Still not an argument or point.

edgy

I know that it isn't a whole of it. The point of stupid contention- which shouldn't exist considering it's a carcass of a debate- is that the method of found footage existed for a long time before Blair Witch, and Blair Witch made it go boom and some years later it became a full-fledged genre in itself.

>seinfeld syndrome etc
never got this tvtropes meme shit. Seinfeld is still hilarious, and I didnt like it till like 2009

>is that the method of found footage existed for a long time before Blair Witch
And three different people keep telling you this is wrong.

Blair Witch established it as a genre...

This is not a debate. Of course I'm right. This is stupid.
Found footage wasn't born with Blair Witch. Hopefully the other retards aren't as retarded as you to believe that.

Which is exactly what I just said. This fucking thread...

>Found footage wasn't born with Blair Witch
In terms of it being a genre, yes. Give me at least TWO examples of actual found footage films in theaters before this...

Blair Witch was seriously one of the (if not THE ) first found footage film. Why are you such a sperg about this?

You are fucking wrong. There has to be THE first movie to do something, and unless you can produce a film before Blair Witch, that was out in theaters that was found footage by the standards of the genre, then you would be correct.

As it stands, you aren't. So fuck off.

>This is not a debate. Of course I'm right
What a faggot you sound, it's made worse by you being wrong.
