Name a better action movie from the past 10 years

name a better action movie from the past 10 years.

I dare you.

The raid was pretty good

pretty good, but not better

trips of truth.

I really hope there's a sequel, even if it takes 20 years.

John Wick

There isnt one, best action film since The Matrix

The scene in OP is God tier action. The score, editing, stunts, intensity, etc
Just everything was perfect

awful story
basically Agent 47 with hair and a wife + half the tweests of a history of violence

they're pretty different type of action movies, The Raid is martial arts and Mad Max is mostly car action. I don't think they should be compared.

Dredd

dredd was fucking meh tier m8, the raid shat on it

Is that supposed to be a bad thing?

The worst part about Fury Road was the script.

the occasionally clunky dialogue could and should have been cut, but beyond that it's just a solid straight story without any bullshit, and that's refreshing as fuck

There was too much style over substance I felt.

I mean I can barely remember any of the action scenes in Fury Road. I remember the great visuals, but not the action.

It's not a movie I have much want to rewatch is what I should say. Whereas I am always down for a sprinkling of Raid, Dredd or Wick or something like that.

But will le blaq & hwiet version be any good? What's up the black and white meme anyway? How's the sandstorm scene supposed to translate into that, you'd need like a billion clearly defined shades of gray to give the same impression of "colourfulness"

Its hard to. It had the right balance of practical and CG effects, the breaks in the action were short and sweet. No tacked on love story.

And yet, I will never watch because I don't care.

I like the original, washed out look best.

Bourne Ultimatum

Yes way too much style over substance. They drive one way in the desert then drive the other way, I consider this movie as holding the same value as pornography. Useful for titillating the lowest levels of the psyche.

Actual answer: Rambo 4

These plus Hardcore Henry

Seeing this movie in imax was is an experience I wish I could relive again and again. The best part was after the sandstorm scene when suddenly it goes silent and we see an extreme close up of Max, although at first you think its a longshot of dunes with his head burried in the sand. Absolute god-tier cinemarography and gives your brain a second to readjust after the overwhelming first act.

>Better Script
>Better Choreography
>Better Camera Work

It's a different kind of action, really. But Fury Road blows it's load, figuratively and literally, too early with the Sandstorm and Brothers in Arms scene (OP's picture). The climax came way too early, so the rest of the movie is a slow descent down into unsatisfying exposition.

Fury Road was great, and I already have and will continue to rewatch it and is an amazing display of filmmaking in the 21st century, but the film itself wouldn't be worth a dime without Junkie XL's score.

But you cared enough to shitpost. Nice priorities.

how cvan people not get bored watching fury road? if you're with friends i guess it's ok, but if you watch it alone you need a plot and good characters to marathon 2 hours of a flick and this one has none of this

Watched it 200 times, fight me

>captcha: ROAD

The Raid 1 & 2
John Wick
Dredd
Any Tom Cruise Movie

Mad Max is the very definition of style over substance. I honestly think all its buzz is from the "b-but it's all particle effects" meme

Define 'better'

These.
Also Dredd being good is a meme.

He said action movie, not cringe inducing comedy

DUDE SCREAMING IN THE DESERT LMAO

...

The Raid was complete garbage as a movie you fucking plebs.

There was some nice choreography for some fights, but all the acting, story and dialogue that filled the remaining fucking hour was nearly unbearably shit.

The correct answer is Edge of Tomorrow

All CGI is trash.

If you like CGI you are a subhuman.

>Action movie
>doesn't have an action star
gg, no re

That's a thriller, not action

Man of Steel

There nothing from this century that even remotely tops this scene.

Edge of Tomorrow is indisputably excellent.
Complaining about irrelevant things in The Raid doesn't take away from how great it is though. The rest of the movie was a vehicle for the fight cinematography and choreography.
If a neurosurgeon shows up in a 1999 Toyota Tercel but still saves the patient's life and memories and cognitive functions, it doesn't really matter what car he drives.

...

right, the raid 2 is better than both

What video game is this ?

>basically Agent 47 with hair
Boy I'd kill for a Hitman adaptation made by the Wick guys.

youtube.com/watch?v=K8E_zMLCRNg

Hitman isn't meant to be action though.

Here you go
Redditors will claim this is a bad movie

Ooh, good call and definitely correct

Shoot Em Up

Road Warrior is still leagues above Fury Road

>edge of tomorrow
>john wick
>raid
>dredd

I can't believe how godawful Cred Forums's taste is. There are no good action movies the past decade, Fury Road is literally the only one.
