I've been pretty much done with Doctor Who after how poorly they handled the return of Gallifrey last series. I just found out Class was a thing. Wow. It looks like shit.

Then read some of /who/'s version of Doctor Who: doctorwhogeneral.wikia.com/wiki/File:Shit_Trips_Vol_1_Final_Version.pdf.

So we've had ghosts, werewolves, vampires, witches and mummies in NuWho. Which other monsters could they bring to the screen? Maybe something like the frankenstein monster

I wish I could be hopeful that we'll get another episode as out-of-the-blue perfect as Heaven Sent soon. But I've been worn down.

As with the last two moffat series you can expect around 2-3 great episodes (one of those very likely being the penultimate of the series), 2 shit ones and a bunch of mostly okay/mediocre stuff. It's pretty much dogma at this point

They should really do a Lovecraft episode at some point, play off the little mentions from the books about Sea Devils worshipping Cthulhu and that sort of thing. (Lurkers at Sunlight's Edge already did a bit of this, of course)

Lovecraft's aliens are the fucking best. Between the Migos, the Elder Ones or the Great Race of Yith you would have enough nightmare fuel for a few series. Although impossible having Wilbur Whately as an antagonist would be the tightest shit

Just watched the Class trailer finally. First off, Ms. Quill is legitimately badass, and her "You can't possibly expect these juveniles.." line gave me Iris Wildthyme vibes for some reason.

I think what impressed me most is that it looks like it will be really well acted. The cast has been chosen well.

Yeah, the acting seems good. Miss Quill's actress already seems to be delivering her lines well. Tanya's mom (Tanya is the black one) seems like a fun character.

The last part is completely useless and feels like forced exposition. If all the dialogue is written like that it will be shit.

And the line works. The "tears in time and space" is clearly spelled out, so to emphasize just how completely unprepared these kids are. If she had shortened it, it wouldn't quite get across just how screwed they are, which she wants the Doctor to understand. Katherine Kelly delivers the line well.

Also, it sets up Ram's "What did she just say?" line.

It's maybe a bit badly written, "really really" is pushing it especially without the flow of the conversation as context.
