Not enough people seem to pick up on this. The series is not about showing that Avery was innocent, it was showing how reprehensible the cops were and how corrupt the investigation was.

At it's core it's about how everyone is fucking terrible. Avery likely killed this girl, the cops didn't find enough evidence and just planted shit, defense attorney setup their his own client.

I swear to christ, this fucking argument. You have no proof, no one has any proof that the cops did anything to tamper with evidence or plant evidence. You have "Funny feelings", you have "Well Coburn looks suspicious". In order to go with that defense you need to prove without a doubt that the cops did that. Otherwise every piece of evidence presented in the case that hasn't been thrown out is valid and can be used to prosecute you.
