brandon flowers is a qt cuck :3
SOMEBODY TOLD ME
SMILE LIKE YOU MEME IT
WHEN EVERYBODY ELSE REFRAINED
MY GIRLFRIEND LUCY FUCKED JERMAINE
I like the Mr Brightside references in their music videos.
Part of their problem was them peaking with their first album, but part of it was obviously pressure from their label to make subsequent albums sound like Hot Fuss. They tried something different with Sam's Town, and quite a few people liked it, but not enough for their record label to let them continue to experiment on their third album. Happens too often nowadays.
Best song
But that's not All These Things That I've Done
Not When You Were Young, either.
desired effect was pretty good, maybe there's still hope
oh, baby
I thought he just meant Hot Fuss. If we're talking Sam's Town, then it's not Read My Mind.
I love Read My Mind goddam
Anything goes in a plane like this
I said uh anything goes in a plane like this
I'm a big guy, I'm a big guy tonight
Hoo-hoooooo
Never thought I'd be the one to make the fires rise
>it's a the band visits Japan and gets into wacky hijinks video
Checked
BACON ANS GRILLED CHEESAY
Battleborn did have some great songs on it, I don't get why it got so much hate. Runaways, Battleborn, Flesh and Bone, and Miss Atomic Bomb are fucking stellar.
BUT IT'S JUST THE PRICE I PAY
ALIMONY'S CALLING ME
>Are we human or are we dancer?
Ok seriously, what did he mean by this?
I KNEW IT WHEN I MET YOU I WAS GONNA LET YOU KEKOLD MEEEEEEE

were, everything after day and age is weird
Why does Cred Forums have better music threads than Cred Forums?
Quiet, Cred Forums is garbage and has sit taste in music.
youtube.com
Why does this song get no love? It's honestly one of their best.
>you will never be a teen again and listen to the killers in their prime
Feels bad man.. I still love Brandon tho
The Killers are shit and their singer is a mormon
>he cant even spell moron correctly
LOL
>he doesn't know what mormon is
Idiot
A YOUNG BOY
KEK
>one of their best
Not really. It's mediocre at best.
>mormon
What's that got to do with enjoying their music?
I really respect how Brandon has made it a point to keep religion entirely out of his music. He's said in interviews that while he's mormon, The Killers aren't any religion. He even walked off a talk show when Richard Dawkins wouldn't stop grilling him on religion when he just wanted to talk music.
Idk
Maybe people look over it because it's so different
>up for 3 hours
Fuck this board
People are still mad at Lou Reed for Metal Machine Music. The absolute madman
PEPE WAS A MEME OF MINE
Keep cryin bitch nigga
Killers videos are kino
who wouldn't have 10 kids with him
It's incredible how almost every track on the first album is a classic
They went fucking HAM somehow, I love when that little magic happens
Reminds me of Interpol and Muse who progressively got worse and worse during a similar period
based user
i remember the first time i listened to that album and being BTFO by that track. its still a classic. and like the other user said, its overlooked because its so different to their other work . people hate new stuff.
such a great song
I always loved how Brandon is at the end of this video
Interpol were GOAT, and I'll always love them, but they are absolutely terrible live. No energy whatsoever.
r-remember us?
youtube.com
Cred Forums here. We have better taste in music AND film than Cred Forums does. Enjoy your hick circlejerk tho.
That one and Spaceman are my favorites
Shot At The Night is best
hell yeah bro I love kanye west and death grips!
ive never seen them live, but ive heard the same comment before
i saw muse a couple of times in 06/07ish and they were great. knights of cydonia had just come out and it was normiebait instead of the albums beforehand that were a bit too 'out there' for the time
Who Here With Me?
youtube.com
Ha ha. No, you really don't. Cred Forums is an awful board.
Cred Forums is unintelligible
Cred Forums is awkward teenagers pretending to be sophisticated adults and loser adults pretending to be sophisticated art connoisseurs
That one is really good too.
All their videos make Vegas seem so nice
1. I've see a Cred Forums film thread. Same tryhard shit as MUBI. May as well spam copy-pasted Sight and Sound decade poll results and call it a day. Zero personality. "Hey guys, aren't I a special snowflake? I love this highly acclaimed film that every film fan checks off their list when they're 14 years old. Do you guys remember this obscure gem that literally everybody has heard mentioned 100 times in casual conversation?" "Oh you also like that film. What a surprise, I thought I was the only that knew about Fellini!"
2. It's tourists from shit boards like Cred Forums and Cred Forums spamming their shit taste that gives Cred Forums its "taste" in the first place.
Vegas is a shithole
>pretending to be sophisticated art connoisseurs
Gorillaz and Kanye West are sophisticated art? Some of you are so close minded that get intimidated with boards that do have on-topic discussion. I've heard the same thing about fucking Cred Forums and /ck/.
>cherrypicking
yeah they like normiecore, they also like garbagecore. and of the normiecore you quoted they analyse it to death and make it seem bigger than it is.
horrible.
So just like Cred Forums?
youtube.com
JOOOOOOHN DEEEEEEEERBYSHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRE
lol
>hell yeah bro I love suicide squad and the new star wars!
HE DOESN'T LOOK A THING LIKE JEEEESUS
Kek Cred Forums thinks those are good?
>Be named Andrew
>Make Ringtone Andy Youre a Star.mp3
...
Who Muse here?
youtube.com
What is this?
>Interpol
I only know them because of Evil's music video. Puppet's creepy as fuck.
Throw me another Interpol song, Cred Forums.
Slow hands
Untitled
PDA
All the rage back home
Stella was a diver
The first 2 albums entirely basically
You'd have a point if Cred Forums and Cred Forums didn't come here on the reg to discuss the latest shit tentpole films.
Cred Forums has the luxury of being such an unpleasant board that no one else would bother visiting it. It's not like people flood that place for album launches.
Your image is obviously bait, but the fact that you think any of Cred Forums's choices are unironically better than the bait under Cred Forums is hilarious.
You really think films by PTA, Ross Perry, Mann are at the same level as Star Wars and capeshit?
>b-but that's not real Cred Forums, real Cred Forums discusses Yugoslav Black Wave in a 5 reply thread every three months
Find me a better pop song from 00's than this.
Protip: you cannot
Fuck, desired effect was such a fucking good album.
The first album in its entirety
Pretty much.
People like PTA think great directing is getting the audience to notice the craft. "Hey everybody look how clever my one takes and crane shots are, aren't a big boy director!"
Not that much different from some piece of shit superhero film in the end.
youtube.com
Best of 00s
fuck off
There's a world of difference between paint-by-numbers garbage and what PTA, Mann, and others accomplish.
Your reductive argument can be made of anything. It's a dumb man's way of dismissing anything.
Oh right I expected one of you people
Let me guess, Villeneueve is cheetos dust, Based Jake is reddit etc.
Funny how you never say this stuff about flashy camerawork about Ophuls or Kalatazov
inb4 b-but they know what they're doing but PTA doesn't because reasons
They're both flash and trash. I don't see a difference.
Why would you even use Villeneueve as an example? His films are all exercises in wasted potential.
My job mostly plays The Killers and Foo Fighters. I never really listened to the Killers a lot before working here so their music annoys me. Cool to see how an environment can change things
>They're both flash and trash.
Do you feel that same about Ophuls and Kalatazov?
>Why would you even use Villeneueve as an example?
Because you've been forcing that pasta for a few weeks now.
I think you mean
youtu.be
There's a time and place for experimenting. Ophuls and Kalatazov weren't the big-headed "auteurs" that you see these days.
>b-but they know what they're doing but PTA doesn't because reasons
where the hell do you work
Hot Topic
They didn't market themselves. If you need the differences explained to you, then you may need to go back to your simple music, kiddo. Film is too complex for you. Stick to using a smaller portion of your brain.
I genuinely enjoy Shot At Night.
Not original or clever, just pretty to look at.
Not just great songs, great track placement too. That's an often underrated trait for albums. Your opener needs to set the tone well for the rest of the album, but you don't want to have the best first, and blow your load too early. The highlights should come somewhere around the middle. And the closer needs to bring the album to an end at a good tempo, but still make you want to listen to it again, or wish the next album were out already.
>They didn't market themselves.
What does this mean? Do PTA films have trailers with a voiceover about how many crane shots and feet of dolly tracks were used?
what is the most K I N O mv
I am Cuba
It has lots of tracking shots
Yeah you're right, that's something I'm not conscious of.
The first time I learnt Hot Fuss was a debut album I was stunned. I still am taken back by it.
What other pop albums do you think have good track placement?
to be fair, their music isn't very energetic in the first place. most of it is pretty somber.
ITAOTS
Abbey Road, Purple Rain
The Blue Album. My Name is Jonas sets the tone well, but it isn't one of the best songs on the album, arguably not even third or fourth best. Then towards the middle you have Buddy Holly, The Sweater Song, Say It Ain't So, and then Only In Dreams at the end.
Led Zeppelin 4
Dank side of the moon
Kino album
man fuck greenday for becoming emo faggots. they were great in the 90s. some of their tracks are classics but american idiot was pretty weird. i expect the new album will follow the same trajectory
Sgt Peppers is my favourite Beatles album, and you do actually notice the track placement
Theres an introduction, a conclusion, and the middle goes up and down
This isnt pop but At the Drive In Relationship of Command
Kanye West 808s definetely
Kid Cudi The Man on the Moon def
youtube.com
this was insanely popular and it was right around the time rock was starting to be taken over by rap. it's a pretty fitting anthem for the millenial teen years, i think.
actually im being too hard
whatsername is pretty classic
jesus of suburbia is pretty good for a long ass song
wake me up good too.
i think i just hate american idiot the track and because its the album title it sticks out more to me
Pure kino desu
>what is the most K I N O mv
youtube.com
no doubt
It's too easy with concept albums
i dont know what the difference is between a concept album and an album
Kid A also applies, pure start to finish kino
Cancerous fucking Cred Forums rejects from Cred Forumseddit
Thought of another one. Fleetwood Mac's Rumours. Which is also a great example of an album, where it depends whether you're listening to it in a social setting, or listening to it alone.
>wahhh stop impeding discussion of my autistic antisocial hobby
get a life, nerd, people like various things and there's not a damn thing you can do about it
>wahh don't bully me!! Cred Forums already made me insecure for having no taste or understanding of music
I can't stop laughing. You rejects are adorable
Stay on Cred Forums you entry level piece of trash
Concept albums generally follow a theme or tackle a specific subject. Like isolation with the Wall and Tommy, or politics with Animals. Most Pink Floyd albums are concept albums.
Whatever They Say I Am That's What I'm not arguably is too, since it's about a typical night out on the streets of Sheffield. As is Weezer's White Album, which is about summer in a tourist town.
Lol
Kid A is mediocre and I hate pitchfork for making it a meme
One of the best albums in history. It has some of the best sound mixing ever, too. On top of great lyricism and craftsmanship.
Hot fuss is their worst album.
(you)
Yeah, a lot of people like to shit on Tusk, but it really isn't as bad as people say. It's just when you compare it to Rumours, it's hot garbage.
>if you like popular music then you're a pleb
might wanna google pretension
i don't bother with Cred Forums because it's just a bunch of fucking weirdos fapping over their literally who husbandos
You have to be 18 to post here, kid

Bump for television and film discussion.
I'd argue Day and Age was worse than Battleborn.
Like, who the fuck remembers Neon Tiger, Crippling Blow, Losing Touch, and Joy Ride?
>Like, who the fuck remembers Neon Tiger, Crippling Blow, Losing Touch, and Joy Ride
Me. ;_;
Day & Age is amazing. Stop being a hipster.
All of My Chemical Romance's albums have God tier track placement.
Don't get me wrong, I love all of The Killers' stuff, except for one fucking song on Hot Fuss. I will never like Everything Will Be Alright. Fuck that song.
It's not bad. Being the weakest of a strong discography isn't a horrible thing.
I never really thought of Whatever They Say I Am as a concept album but I think you're right.
The Mollusk by Ween is one of my favorite concept albums.
one of the 5 cd i bought in my life
Oh yeah you're a huge fucking pleb alright
im not trying to be cool but i think the last album i bought was weird al running with scissors

Killers should thank the strokes for giving them a career
Fuck no, the best years for top 40 were the late 60s. The 60s were the peak of mainstream music.
