I found it to be an excellent depiction of the mentally ill autist lifestyle as well as a timely thriller which handled issues that you never see in movies, or anywhere really.

IMHO Scanners was shot without a finished script and it shows.

Are they by chance really light compared to discs that dont? I have a few NOISY cds and they seem to be lighter.

Maybe, they're very cheap looking. But on top of the noise just 30 seconds in the player is enough to leave visible and concerningly deep scratches in the discs. I'm not running the things for 90 minutes straight. There's clearly more than noise when these things go in. They're physically grinding against something somehow.

The Brood, The Fly. eXistenZ was fun because it was so bizarre it was fascinating.

Viggo is one of my favorite actors and I hope he works with Cronenberg again in the futute.

Not going to lie I really like the modern Cro.
Cosmopolis and Maps to the stars really distinguish themselves from all the other stuff that goes out these days.

I really like directors who switch gears instead of doing the same film over and over again.

The dude went from doing body horror to action/mafia stuff to films about the pitfalls of modern society.

Naked Lunch might be my favorite though. Sometimes I think Cronenberg is David Lynch but without the allegorical pseudo-intellectual shit that leads nowhere and makes 2nd year film students go "duuuude".
