biggest fall from grace ever?

Because you're viewing my methods like there's something missing, like you're looking at it like the jigsaw...that it is, but you're viewing it through a keyhole...when really, you should be.....

"well, the contestants run upstairs and get a clue-"

> not understanding Upstairs Downstairs, the new quiz show devised and hosted by David Brent

>show gets cancelled
>americans make much more profitable and more seasons
Another one bites the dust.

>show gets cancelled

The fuck kind of bait is this

American bait

Google is quite powerful newfriends.

>google

>british humor

...

>Yanks

>I don't understand context.

>British """""""""""humour""""""""""""

xD look at the silly man dance! maybe he'll put on a woman's dress to REALLY make this episode the GOAT!

It wasn't a sketch show.

No shit.

You're just proving his point.

>le deep context of dancing man
Are all british kids this dumb?

Yup.

its one of the greatest scenes in television

Link?

How can Brits even compete?

Lordy, that scene was fantastic.

Is this shitposting new? I'm enjoying it.

As a brit it makes me indignant. But it's also funny.

I'm not even British and I this show makes me cry of laughter every time, I don't get the "British humour is unfunny" meme

Try telling them we invented television. That usually sets them off.

youtu.be/mXytRC0k-K8
>british humor

It doesn't really matter. We know our shows are superior to theirs, that's why the words "American Remake" are equivalent to "Americans ruin something"

>HOT LOVE ON THE HOT LOVE HIGHWAY, yeah...

>America makes the show so much more successful that it actually becomes too successful and keeps going long after it's become shit

Our only weakness is that we don't know when to quit.

>SHE'S DEAD
>she's not dead

>"SHE'S DEEAAAD"
>"She's not dead!"

Link if it's so funny.

was the david brent movie any good

How does britbong simultaneously produce garbage like this and kino like The IT Crowd?

>not knowing this scene

youtube.com/watch?v=p6Eaz-1_3iA

no

funnier than the christmas special, though

>le randum xD humor! *holds up spork*
Not funny. I can see why reddit attracts a lot of british people.

>Please don’t make me redundant. You can- you can talk to someone Jenny… I will try twice as hard, I really will, I’m not being complacent and I will- I’ll turn this place around if we just say that it’s not definite now and then we can- and you’ll not go in the till- if we started from now. Starting from now…

There was a film?

typical american documentary/comedy...

Boring isn't it? Just staying in watching Peak Practice with your life.

>Hot love freeway
FTFY

the christmas special was brilliant, though

I THINK THERE'S BEEN A RAPE UP THERE

>Die young? *shakes head* Die old.

the outtakes were literally the only good part

youtube.com/watch?v=Vf100kkIm48

Under 'weaknesses', you just wrote eczema.

>don't know

youtu.be/a7RoP1LKMeM
This scene is why Michael Scott > David Brent

It's Free Love on the Free Love Freeway, you fools

"What am I gonna do for 3 hours?"
Best line in show

Beautiful

The christmas special wasn't really meant to be funny. It tied the whole Tim/Dawn arc up in a neat little bow and gave us a little bit of closure on Brent's life.

>Canterbury tales of Chaucer? This can never not be funny to me

God damn the outtakes are GOAT

it's a different line faggot

Hot love on the hot love highway is another verse you fucking cretins.

...

>you do not punish a girl, Dutch or otherwise, for having big boobs

in a later season of the US office, Brent shows up
>mfw he was still unemployed several years later

showing brent do those awful "celebrity" appearances in the christmas special and seeing him years later in the us office, looking for work was kinda sad.

That was the point

love how Brent's songs are not written as deliberately funny or even bad, but for some reason they just make you laugh

For what it's worth, Monty Python is the lowest rung of comedy in the UK. It's on the same level as Mrs. Brown's Boys.

i'll file this under, "no shit"

There were some really funny lines/moments. One that comes to mind is the extended uncomfortable look he gives to camera when he tells a woman in the car park he's relieved she isn't his blind date. It was perfect.

I don't expect much from a country whose main broadcasting station is literally called "BBC".

Not for me. I like it.

if it was an American show the songs would have lots of forced humour.

aside from the songs themselves, a lot of the humor comes from the delivery

That was fucking gay

...

>bongs describing things as "gay"
are you stuck in the early 2000s?

>bong

Nah

>I
>declare
>bankRUPTCYYYY

>I am literally retarded, and no matter what you post I refuse to let you tell me otherwise.

>im smarter than google

Gay.

>you can't just say the word, "bankruptcy" and expect anything to happen

dropped your gay card

I often wonder how Americans would feel if the shows were reversed. A cult favourite, understated pseudo-realistic mockumentary which is remade into a broad and wacky cookie-cutter sitcom on the BBC to massive audiences.

The British version of that 70s was complete shit

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_British_television_series_based_on_American_television_series

I did not expect such feels from this thread

I once shagged a bird whose surname was Freelove

I'm aware. I'm saying would Americans defend the clearly inferior remake if it wasn't American?

Of course not.

>I'm not homophobic, all right? Come around, look at my C.D collection. You'll find Queen, George Michael, Pet Shop Boys. They're all bummers.

>"I was waiting for a blind date, I was worried you were it"

Trust, encouragement, REWARD...

...Satisfaction.

Turned it off at the gay 70s dancing from some guy in a suit. Wasn't very funny.

The Life on the Road album is unironically GOAT

How is it that, 15 years later, it has yet to be topped?

"if you do go all the way with Tim and you expect me to... go in there, afterwards... make sure he wears a condom. It's sort of a rule."

On a more positive note... The good news is I have been promoted. So...every cloud.

it was funny but the humour of brent is a bit on the nose compared to the oiginal. feels like more of a gag rather than real cringe, but still it made me laugh quite a lot

I watched that Peak Practice, bloody repeat.

-That's annoying innit?

Not for me, I hadn't seen it.

Pretty good bait desu

...

Are you a fucking retard? That bit was funny because of its context, nobody said it was fucking deep. As a matter of fact, "deep context" doesn't even make sense, context isn't deep or shallow, it's just context.
Nobody's saying you don't get the joke because it's deep. You don't get it because you're a fucking autist moron who probably has a very short attention span.

What is random about it?

youtube.com/watch?v=kKZBYd_eTLM

The yank versus brit banter itts is much funnier than both shows combined.

GOAT

Daily reminder that steven merchant is the genious behind the office

As an American, I can say The Day Today and Garth Marenghi's Darkplace are proof the Brits know good comedy

Shame he's dying

>tutle

youtube.com/watch?v=aPiaquyAUpY

Don't you love cheesy 90s themes

youtube.com/watch?v=ezAJeaCySV4

He's done you again.

AND HES NOT EVEN HERE

This is now a karl thread

>might rain

>Look at yourself. You're an embarrassment Love, to be honest.

It sounds like a fucking rockbusters clue. I can hear it in his voice exactly how he'd say it too.

Looks a bit like Charles Dance in Alien3

youtube.com/watch?v=ojqX7sIVKTU

>rare

I didn't say it I declared it

God bless british comedy, it has made my life better. Not even an anglo.

That's like talking to a little robot! Oh, what a time to be alive.
I wish it could talk!

Like job explaining the joke newfriend.

This is British humor?
