How many horror movies have you seen this month so far, Cred Forums? I've seen:

>Frankenstein (1931)
>Bride of Frankenstein
>Son of Frankenstein
Surprisingly great films. Obviously they aren't scary anymore but they're still very entertaining. Are there any other pre-1950 horror movies that hold up as well?
>Young Frankenstein
I re-watched it in theater. It's a 10/10 comedy classic.
>The Fog (2005)
The original is a 8/10, the remake is a 1/10 disaster. If you haven't seen the remake and you want a laugh click on youtube.com/watch?v=QUESzlbIr2U and skip to 1:38
>The Babadook
Pretty good film. It's a bit overrated by critics but it doesn't deserve the mountains of shit that it gets on here.

Evil Dead 2
Army of Darkness
Beetle Juice

evil dead 2 is my favourite so far.

Have you seen the original The Evil Dead? It's a fun horror film.

>The Babadook
>Pretty good film
it's crap

yeah i watched it last year. It was bretty good. Been wanting to watch the other two for a long time and i'm not dissapointed.

Is there a more entertaining Zombie movie?

>Let the Right One In
>Let Me in
>Nightmare on Elm Street 2
>Nightmare on Elm Street 3
>It Follows
>The Ring
>The Ring 2
>Ringu
>King Kong (1933)
>Saw
>The Borderlands
>Lake Mungo
>The Tunnel
>Mothman Prophecies
>The Witch
>The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
>The Invisible Man (1933)
>The Loved Ones
>They Live
>VHS 2
>Zombieland
>Cabin in the Woods
>The Taking of Deborah Logan
>Walking Dead Season 1

First time seeing Ringu and was surprised at how much better the remake was.

>Are there any other pre-1950 horror movies that hold up as well?
Invisible Man isn't bad. Nosferatu is worth watching too.

Lights Out is pretty good. The chracters are all really flawed/shit but they grow on you pretty fast.

Only three.

>Trick 'R' Treat
>Ringu
>Starry Eyes

All three were good. Though I thought Ringu wasn't that scary. I'm starting to think that I just don't find J-horror to be all that scary.

This month:
>The Addams Family
charming fun.
>The VVitch
very good.
>Blue Velvet
a classic, obviously
>Clown (2014)
surprisingly good body horror
>Honeymoon
good for netflix standards
>Pay the Ghost
bad. Nic Cage can't save it.
>Suspiria
probably better if you're coked up

now watching: Repo Man

What are some good modern horror movies, Cred Forums?

Looking for something smarter, weirder, and more experimental as well.

Only Friday the 13th parts 4 & 8, so far. Jesus, you guys weren't kidding about how much Jason takes Manhattan sucks.

the conjuring, sinister

Already seen The Conjuring; liked it.

You're Next
It Follows

Already seen both.

You're Next was good.

It Follows didn't do anything for me mostly.

The Witch

Seen it already. I liked it but it wasn't that scary either.

Someone recommend me something less mainstream.

Starry Eyes

See

The Crazies remake is surprisingly good. It's not a masterpiece but it's pretty enjoyable.

watched Halloween 1-h20, cabin in the woods, the thing and event horizon.

What do I watch now?

Tempted to watch Friday the 13th to get more the "unstoppable killer" vibe, what ones should I watch/ get from amazon?

>Bone Tomahawk
>Army of Darkness
Really enjoyed them both.

Dog Soldiers (2002)
The Descent (2005)
Eden Lake (2008)
1408 (2007)
Bone Tomahawk (2015)
Triangle (2009)
The Borderlands (2013)
The Orphanage (2007)
Cabin in the Woods (2012)

the first two, the remake. After that it's optional.

Of those, I've only ever seen The Descent and really liked that one.

I do really want to watch Dog Soldiers, Bone Tomahawk, and Cabin in the Woods. That last one I've been meaning to watch for awhile now. Wanted to "work my way to it" since I was basically new to the genre and wanted to watch some other horror movies first.

Pontypool if you want a fresh 'zombie' film. Top comfy too

Friday the 13th 1-4 and 6-7 are great "unstoppable killer" slashers.
>recommending the remake over 3, 4, 6 and 7
shiggy

>le ZOMBIES XD
I'll watch it if it's good but zombies don't really interest me.

definitely watch dog soldiers, great film.

Resolution (2012)
House of the Devil
You're Next

god, dog soldiers is perhaps the cheesiest b movie horror i'ev ever watched

underrated horror:
the Relic
Howl
Late Phases

>fresh
>zombie
just. no.

Just watched Krampus last night, it wasn't bad but it was disappointing.

Can someone help me remember an old horror movie? I was a kid when I saw it. It looked 80s/early 90s and featured these little robotic creatures hunting down the cast. I remember one borrowing underground I think. I remember it being decently gorey. It's not Virus. I thought it was Scanners for a while but now know that it isn't. Perhaps the title was similar?

Pontypool is more akin to The Crazies than any zombie movie.

Ignore it if you want. It has a great atmosphere and builds on it amazingly well for being so low budget.

>The Crazies
Are you talking about the original or the remake?

check out Train to Busan
it's a family drama set in a zombie apocalypse

I don't want to be rude or sound like a smart ass, but you need to watch more horror movies.

Death machine?

Remake, which was good in my opinion.

>House on Haunted Hill
>Army of Darkness
>Braindead
>Xtro
>Re-Animator

I like campy shit.

I don't remember the robots being that big. I wanna say it was on a ship or maybe a posy apoc setting. I don't remember taking place in a world where everything was fine.

Why i hesitantly added 'zombie' film. Great film i still believe.

Also if you want experimental go for pic related. A very Argento type film. Unsettling in a way.

What about Screamers, it's a very low budget movie with robots, I think some of them were small.

>Candyman
Literally BLACKED: the movie but jokes aside it was pretty solid, it had surprisingly good story and character for a slasher movie and the villain was great. 8/10
>Les yeux sans visage
An overall very tragic and haunting movie with amazing visuals and acting. The ending has been stuck on my head ever since I finished it. 9/10
>The Cabinet Of Dr.Caligari
I was very pleasantly surprised that it holds up perfectly well. I can't give a movie of this caliber anything less than a 10/10.
>Ichi The Killer
It wasn't really horror the way I expected but it was good shlocky fun. Kakihara to me felt like Suicide Squad Joker done right. It introduced me to Takashi Miike. 7/10
>Suspiria
I lost the chance to watch it in a theater playing where I live but I found a torrent with good quality at home. I thought the ending kind of sucked but the movie was so utterly amazing on visuals and scene composition and use of soundtrack that I can't call this anything less than a 10/10.
>The Host
One of the best monster movies ever made, had everything I could hope for in a horror movie. It had very strong characters too. 9/10
>The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
This was the only movie I've seen so far that actually fucking terrified me. It felt like an actual snuff film (even gore videos are not that intense) and while I knew about Leatherface beforehand, I had no idea he was this terrifying. GIT HER GRANDPA/10
>Tales Of Halloween
It was good, I enjoyed 8 out of the 10 shorts so I'm giving it a 8/10. I can't say I was scared but it was constantly entertaining. The Night Billy Raised Hell was one of the best short films ever made.

God Damn I would still Fuck Elvira. Woman is a sex goddess and she's like 60+

Yep, that's it! Thanks user.

>The Babadook
Did not find this film scary neither entertaining, small bit of the movie is good.
>The Shining
Great, i mean what did you expect me to say
>Nightmare on Elm Street
A fun film, classic.
>Taking of Deborah Logan
Definitely has some good scares and spooky moments, but nothing surprising.
>The Gallows
God awful shit
>Martyrs
Disturbing and shocking. But i feel like the film should have done more, felt like something was missing at the end.

>The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Do you mean the 1974 original film or the 2003 remake?

The Day of the beast (El dia de la bestia)

Thoughts?

I watched Evil Dead 2013 this morning on tv. Are they going to bring that up in Ash vs Evil Dead ever?

There are plans to bring both timelines together at one point

>That naked pink hair chick

Good fun movie not spoopy though.

I miss when AMC actually played horror all month and Goosebumps on CN.

Why are horror movies so preposterously ripe for remakes?

I hope so because I really liked that movie. It wasn't scary by any sense more gore porn and the only one I consider horror is the original.

Solid 8/10 imo watched it couple years ago at my mom's during Christmas.

Obviously the 1974 original, I'm not even touching the sequels or the remakes

Zero.

I've seen zero movies or TV show this month. Same as last month.

My attention span is fucked I can't watch a whole movie anymore. I literally come here for the community

because most, if not all, of the classics are b movies that showcase a deep level of creativity that isn't possible with the way hollywood works today
only classic horror i can think of that isn't b-tier are david cronenberg, the thing and wes craven

I'm a sucker for OGF-like warm colors and dreamy sequences, so this shit was right up my alley.

Learn how to spell. It's "disappointed".

Braindead

Been watching the remaining F13th movies. Jason Takes Manhattan has been my worst so far, but now I'm in Jason X, and I had to pause it yesterday. What terrible syfy level piece of shit. I'll finish it someday...

I like this question. I'm gonna take a stab at it.
They rely more heavily on suspension of disbelief than other genres to be effective. Most of the ones that take themselves seriously do not age well. I also think they're a breeding ground for new filmmakers and innovative concepts working with low budgets. Often, you can look back at schlocky horror B movies and see a seed of something really cool that wasn't really realized for its limitations. It's the genre everybody wants to like even when it fails 90% of the time.

What are your thoughts on the Final Destination movie franchise? i know its highly criticized but i gotta say it's my guilty pleasure, i love the idea and the mystic that they explore, and i think they should've explored that a bit more

Its a masterpiece though

it was a good concept, best is 2

I watched original Texas Massacre and was bored with it in all honesty it didn't freak me out the least bit.

Should I try it again or just leave it? It doesn't help I watched the Jenna Jameson porn parody months back and it was still in my mind.

Loved it.
5>1>3>2>4
I hope they reboot it

Preacher 2 good

>The Babadook
Shit movie, not scary
>The Conjuring
Decent movie, kind of scary
>Noroi
Boring and awkward, not many scary parts
>The Wailing
Great movie, some scary parts
>The Witch
Decent movie, decent atmosphere but ultimately not scary
>Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Kino, probably one of the scariest movies I've seen

1,2, and 3 are the only ones I watched. I don't fuck with roller coasters and I have a condition anyway.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH

Meh killing the side characters like Emily pissed me off, fuck Tulip. I'll keep watching for Jesse and Cass but otherwise I don't give a fuck.

that's exactly the same order i will put them, except maybe switching 3 and 2, i will love to see a darker reboot, more tense where deaths really matter and they explore more the concept of the curse.

4 is shit, it shouldn't even exist but you should definitely watch 5

...

Pretty fun, desu.

Also has a monster facefuck scene if that's your bag.

Does this count as horror?

I really enjoyed it

holy shit, those sequels

>The Borderlands
>finally watched after so many recommendation
>compared to Lovecraft
>guessing which one of L. works it will pay homage to

it was a Sarlacc all along nice too bad they didnt spend a dime on effects

Can we get some more pic of Elvira and her tits?

She always mad my dick rock hard.

>The responsible for adding retarded details to the zombie lore
No thanks

Night of the Creeps desu

It was just supposed to be a goofy comedy. Dan O'Bannon couldn't have known that hacks would put elements of it into serious zombie movies.

i dont know whats sadder, fact iknow everyone from op pic or that half posters dont know at least 10 chars.
Ibet most of you dont know about Elvira.

Scared Stiff is a fucking god tier pinball table.

>tfw I will never play an actual physical pinball table

I wish I lived in america

I bet you don't know Crypt Keeper.

>Demi Moore killed by Cred Forums poster
>Arnold Schwarzenegger's only director credit

Yeah, it counts. I saw it a few months ago. 7/10 movie, it has a lot of flaws but it's easy to overlook them since it had a very small budget and was made by amateurs.

kino

>dat sex scene
>dat pervert guy
>dat "this is what you want this what you get this is what you want this is what you get"

Zombie/Bob with gun from Land of Dead was when they went full retard and switch FAVA BEANS and CHIANTI with Brian Cox then I'm fine with this.

Hopkins is cartoonish compared to Cox's you could see this guy everyday and never know anything was up.

Hellbound: Hellraiser II
Maniac (1980)
Blade: Trinity
Cat People (1982)
Green Room

Serious question here. What do you guys think makes a good horror/monster movie? I was thinking of making a relatively low budget horror/monster movie but I have no idea what makes a good horror/monster movie.

>>dat "this is what you want this what you get this is what you want this is what you get"
My man, I also love that. The soundtrack is fantastic.

youtube.com/watch?v=KSyuhF6eNiY

Are you ready for my wisdom, user?

Runaway?
Runaway?
runaway?
runaway?
runaway?
runaw
runaway?
Were Gene Simmons and Tom Selleck in it?

It has to be interesting without being over designed. Less is more, ex. Alien where you see very little of the alien

Don't show the monster all the time, soundtrack, and have atmosphere. Good luck double dubs.

someone else already made a perfect looking monster movie. Go for another horror subgenre
youtu.be/tbyCUdzR87Y

Aliens is a good movie but I prefer Alien for horror. Alien 3 was more horror and I enjoy 3 for that reason and doesn't hurt I liked the first person chase scene.

Irony, tragedy, inexplicability, unpredictability, incisiveness.

I fucking love the effects in Virus, forceful augmentation of machine into flesh AND vice versa makes for stunning horror visuals. It's too bad this move is dragged tragically short of being a 10/10 horror classic by the shoddy writing and weak heroine.

Where is Event Horizon in your image?

I'm looking for an old horror movie that I watched when I was a kid. It was shown on the syfy back when it was calked sci-fi. It looked like it was a made for TV movie that was made ineither the the 90s or the early 00s. The basic premise is a family move into a haunted house. The climax of the movie is the ghost attacks the daughter/son (I don't remember the gender) with a water hose and the parents have to break down the door to save her/him.

I don't understand the hype behind this one. Its really not that good of a movie when compared to Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and Day of the Dead. Even Zach Snyders Dawn remake is better. Hell I'd argue the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead is better.

Watched The Brood last night. I liked it.

Thanks! I will definitely take these into account. One more question. If I choose to make a monster movie, what aspects would you like to see in a monster? I remember hearing that when they were redesigning the Predator, they added mandibles because James Cameron said that he had always wanted to see a monster with mandibles. What could be added to make the monster distinct and interesting?

You have to craft an atmosphere and then let the viewers own imagination go to work on them, there is very little you can put on a screen that will match what a persons mind can dredge up when properly stimulated and immersed.

>I don't understand the hype behind this one

Sounds like you went into it 'wanting to see what the hype is about', which will almost always ruin the experience and turn you into a little contrarian bitch.

I like it because it's good fun not really scary in any sense but it's just simplistic.

DO YOU WANNA PARTY!?!?

>Even Zach Snyders Dawn remake is better.
Fuck no. Anyway, comparing Return of the Living Dead to serious zombie movies is dumb. It's a ridiculous comedy.

>Skeleton pops out of the ground
>Has fully intact eyeballs

Wait people take this seriously?

>Anyway, comparing Return of the Living Dead to serious zombie movies is dumb. It's a ridiculous comedy.

Day of the Dead >>>>> Return of the Living Dead

Who's the guy to the right of It?

Movie monsters tend to be embodiments or composites of things we have a natural aversion to: predators, things that poison us, death, disease, madness. The uncanny valley is also disturbing to most people (simulacrums, psychopaths, etc.).

The more I watch the original Day of the Dead, the more I like it. Especially characters like Bub, Dr Logan and Captain Rhodes.

It's a greatly under appreciated film.

Michael Berryman (probably from The Hills Have Eyes)

try this

Subvert expectations. If you're a vidya game player check out Until Dawn because that is a movie game done right and has all the things a horror movie should have these days.

You should watch Blood and Black Lace then.

Are there any torrent or rapid share sites that deal in horror movies only?

What are some films with horror but aren't classed as a horror film ?

Original Wicker Man is more suspense than horror.

>Banging on wall for sex

He only had to do one thing!

So some sort of Cujo, alien, chupacabra is your perfect horror film?-

The Fly (1986)
The Lost Boys
The Blob (1988)
Santa Sangre
Jacob's Ladder
The People Under the Stairs
Braindead
Cronos

Gonna watch In the Mouth of Madness tonight.

In the Mouth of Madness is pretty good. You should also watch Christine, Prince of Darkness and The Fog if you haven't already. They're all very good and very underrated.

Alien is a perfect horror film. Yes.

Well...cant say the trailer for that film is particularly intriguing.

Why are trailers for horrors so generic nowadays.

Horror with Cred Forums

Horror movies in general have a great budget to profit ratio, so using an established property should theoretically yield an even better ratio.

Not that user but check out Cat's Eye for Quitters inc.

HAVE A SMOKE!

EVERY YOU MOVE YOU MAKE

Thanks

Great action, characters, and practical effects. Also equal parts hilarious and horrific. My favorite zombie movie.

It's also George Romero's favorite of the original dead trilogy.

How's "the ward?"

so far I'm really digging john carpenters work

Is this any good?

Fucking wish I hadn't seen that trailer, it spoils so much.

>Monster eventually gets in the car
>First dude to show up gets killed
>Director is so creatively bankrupt he has to directly copy the monster-behind-girl scene from Aliens
>Little girl only one to survive as she is shown during the morning (unless it's a dream sequence in which case bravo)

It's very eh.

I mean, then it ruins it with the le generic spooky mutants and the heroine getting tossed into a radiated gangrape tank but still, I love single-locale setups like that and wouldn't mind seeing a modern film take the 'Cujo' approach and make sitting in a car at night as scary as going to the beach after Jaws.

Recently binge watched this entire series. Wouldn't watch the second again but the first and third were relatively fun

Watch it and find out. I like to suprise myself with horror and even shitty horror is fun.

I'm probably the only one who enjoys Stan Helsing.

>Dem qts

I JUST WANNA GO HOME

The Babadook is so shit.

Unless the shadow is a metaphor for the patriarchy that looks like shit.

Is Devils Backbone any good?

have jerked to it before

Same

Thanks bois

anyone know of some kind of masterlist with comfy horror/slasher movies?

i'd like to spend the rest of october watching a movie a day

see

I know it's more Cred Forums than Cred Forums but Until Dawn is really good.

Psycho and Bates Motel is pretty kino imo. I'm hype for next season and I can't wait to see it.

I miss her...

>Ringu
>the remake was better
Oh jeez, I didn't know it was Bad Opinion Night here on Cred Forums

Decent. Brings nothing new to the haunted house table, but remains watchable.

Yes, very.

"I'm a sea pig."

The original 1958 The Fly isn't horror, but I liked it much more than the Cronenberg remake.

>wanna own the whole Halloween franchise
>already have 123
>might aswell continue the single disc trend instead of buying the box set
>Halloween 6 blue ray Durant come with both versions
>don't want to own 2 copies of the same movie for shelf space reasons

Help me

>sell DVD copies
>buy box set
Is this really that difficult for you, dude?

I saw You're Next to see what the fuss abut Wingard was about, going to see The Guest tonight.

Saw the Purge trilogy, stupid as fuck but entertaining. I also watched Nightmare on Elm Street 2 for the first time, because i'm a faggot and everybody talks about how gay is it. Had a fun time.

I saw The Nightmare too this moth, interesting little doc.

The remake was more unsettling, and the original had unnecessary crap like the exhusband also being a psychic.

The original was better with Sadakos face but thats about it.

>I saw The Nightmare too this moth, interesting little doc.
yeah I know what you mean, after all he's some sort of government experiment that kills the parents after the government finds him but in the end he gets killed by the daughter who survives with her brother
>going to see The Guest tonight.
oops sorry really didn't want to post this

Elm Street 2 is pure faggotry and it's amazing the 3rd was as good as it was, helps I love Patricia Arquette.

Check out Freddy's Nightmares if you can it's a creepy show at times and I rarely see people talk about it.

The enjoyed the Korean version best.

What?

>Virus

Is Sadako sick? Will I catch the clap if I watch the movies for the first time?

What did you think of this? Pretty alright. Better than most Jason sequels.

Not that guy, but fuck off if you can't handle a spelling error. This is an anonymous chat site, not your English 101 class, cunt.

>Dat David Cronenberg cameo.

This thread is great. Just got done with You're next. Very fun and amusing. I love movies where it turns out that the antagonist fucked up by messing with the wrong person. Too bad there aren't more horror movies with this premise though I can see how it would be hard to nail.

Just watched Wolf Creek.

Didn't know Australia did their own Chainsaw Massacre remake.

Watch the second one.

How the fuck is 9 not your worst?

Learn how to spell. It's, "Disappoint."

Jason Goes to Hell was well shot, and fun, and good gore. Most F13th lack the goddman gore (because they cut 'em to avoid X-rating blah blah). F13th are trashy slasher shit, you watch them to see the teens get mauled, and I wanna see the gore, not the shocked face, and the the body. Fucking boring.

1, 4 and 9 were the best, because you have the unrated cuts of those. Jason Lives is actually my second favorite, after the first one, although it doesn't have an unrated cut. There's a workprint composite tho, which adds the complete death of the sheriff, and Jason being propelled. They're just low quality vhs stuff. tho.

For what its worth mane here work print footage the cut gore from part 7.
youtube.com/watch?v=mrgfqaMVAlM

Wish they'd clean this shit, and release uncut versions. I know it's not possible with all of the movies, because the original negatives were destroyed, but afai understood with most of them they could do it.

Just watched The Last Broadcast

Thought it was pretty okay until that shyamalan twist in the last 10 minutes.

You're Next
The Invitation
Pontypool and Triangle are unique as well

There's two other indie horrors I can't remember the name of:
-a couple dozen people are on platforms in a room and keep getting dropped or killed as this mechanism randomly (or not) chooses them to die, lots of red and black

-a dude had some kind of breakdown, visits an old friend, explains that there are all of these posessed people that will kill them, and he ties his friend up in the basement

Any help on those last two for names? , might like those as well.

Runaway or Chopping Mall?

>high tension
How to destroy something amazing 101

Yeah, it counts but it's also very rewatchable because of all of it's other elements. Oh, and it's also kinda a recomendation for

anyone got a good site to download movies??
>inb4 based yify

seconded as more entertaining zombie than Return by a mile

Can anyone recommend some good schlocky fun horrors that don't take themselves seriously? That's my favorite kind of horror.

Slither

Thankskilling

Poultrygeist

The Gingerdead Man

Redneck Zombies

This. Pretty high quality for it's type. Also some weird fetish fuel if into it.

Tucker and Dale vs Evil

Gremlins, kind of

Are the Purge movies a decent (entertaining) watch?

Just watched "The Hole" on netflix. pretty fun kino with nice set designs

They are decent. The second one is the most entertaining.

That's what I've heard. I've always thought the premise was dumb, but I'll check out the first two.

...

Jack Frost and Jack Frost 2
Eight Legged Freaks
Tremors
Anything by Full Moon

Stitches

Killer Klowns from Outer Space

Zombeavers

Son/Seed of Chucky

Meant for

What the fuck do you mean Bride of Frankenstein was "surprisingly" good? Of course it's good.

Anyway, a lot of the first wave of Universal horror is godlike. I grew up with Texas Chainsaw, Friday the 13th, Child's Play and all that. I liked horror, but wasn't into it much beyond slashers and such. A few years ago I got into it more and for me, nothing has really topped the Universal stuff. I don't know what it is. Like you said, it's not scary, but it's still great. Here's some good pre-1950's horror:

>Dracula
>Dracula's Daughter
>Phantom of the Opera (1925)
>The Invisible Man
>Freaks
>The Cat People
>King Kong
>Nosferatu
>Haxan
>The Wolf Man
>Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man
>Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein

>Freaks
what

They're all garbage. It is by far the worst horror franchise to ever exist. You could argue Hellraiser or something like that, but those movies were good at some point. The Purge was never good and I won't be told otherwise. Anyone that says The Purge: Election Year was good has no idea what they're talking about.

First of all, it wasn't even scary. It was a goddamn action flick advertised as a horror movie. I should have known.

Secondly, every word that comes out of any characters mouth is "cocksucker", "motherfucker", "bitch", etc. It's like a 13 year old wrote it. But the thing is, I'm pretty sure 13 year old's could be slightly more creative than that.

Thirdly, the acting sucks. The music is garbage. The directing is shit. The political message is forced. The movie is trash and no one can tell me there was anything good about it. It's up there with Texas Chainsaw 3D.

>not knowing Freaks

18+ to post here, buddy.

>It is by far the worst horror franchise to ever exist.
Worse than Paranormal Activity?

of course I know Freaks, it's just that I wouldn't think of it as a halloween-time movie

We Are Still Here

At least those movies gave you something. The Purge is just garbage. The first one entirely failed. It wasn't marketed correctly. Everyone thought it would be more anarchic, but it was a run of the mill home invasion. The sequel comes along and it's just generic action. The third was generic action with a forced political message. Nothing about these movies is good.

Did you not read my post? Day of the Dead is a super dark, super serious film. Comparing a comedy to it is retarded.

>tfw just watched Creep

fuckin grade A kino

>dat final firefight
I came extremely hard.

the subway one or the home video one? I've only seen the latter and it was decent at best.

chucky 2 and 3.

anyone know if the sixth one is any good? looked like shit in the trailer and unrelated to the rest of the series.

>silence of the lambs
>horror
more like psychological thriller desu

The home video one, and it's fantastic. it accomplishes exactly what it wants to do, and doesn't have trouble poking fun of itself. best horror kino i've seen in awhile.

seconding Berberian Sound Studio rec. It's a very cozy little flick.

Just finished Dracula (1931) got this lil set up to watch a differ t movie every night all month.
Don't mind VV it was just playing so I could adjust the focus and shit

I fucking love Until Dawn.

Any good horror movies about the wendigo?

So far

>Tickled
if that counts, it wasn't very good either
>Lights out
Solid 90 minute horror with a neat gimmick
>Burny Offerings
One of the best haunted house movies I've seen in forever. Slow, but worth the payoff. Oliver Reed kills it
>A Virgin Among the Living Dead
picture related. It's also bad. Jess Franco pls you're less coherent than Fulci at his craziest.
>I Stand Alone
Rewatch. Masterpiece but not really horror, but horrifying.
>Kill List
Rewatch. One of the best horror movies of the last 10 years.
A Serbian Film
Rewatch. I still like it enough. Lots of things I'd forgotten about it which was nice.
>I Saw the Devil
Rewatch. Still solid as hell, but a lot goofier than I remember. Also way more brutal and heartless.

Gonna watch the original Hills Have Eyes II next. I expect nothing. Love the original and the remake.

Freddy's nightmares is definitely an underrated Anthology series.

Somebody should stream some horror movies

It's better than Bride/Seed

This, someone stream some horror movies already.

It's good. Watch it if you enjoy the series.

I would love to but I'm stuck on campus so I can't download anything, and I don't have a disk drive to rip my dvds

Is there an actual scary movie? Like im talking about an actually scary movie that put fear that made look behind you sleep with the lights on and double chec to make sure the door is locked. I have never seen a scary movie that's actually made me scared ill watch any movie recomended

Surprisingly great film

This was a good thread guys. Cred Forums isn't complete shit after all

Wishmaster
The others
Tremors
The gate

Inland Empire
Lake Mungo

If you haven't seen videodrome do yourself a favor and make that the next horror movie you watch.

>a
the

sleepaway camp 3

Day of the Dead is also hilarious. More so than Return imho.

>make sure the door is locked
the first alien movie made me check that the door wasn't locked as a kid

What was the name of that movie that takes place in a mall car park?
It had the crazy fuck stalking this chick.

imdb.com/title/tt0804516/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_24

anyone know what those two last suggestions names are?
some pretty solid suggestions here

imdb.com/title/tt3118452/?ref_=nv_sr_3
Here's the first one

>watching Halloween (1978)
>it's the opening
>from Michael's perspective
>Michael kills his sister
>from Michael's perspective
>Psycho-tier high stab
>from Michael's perspective
>camera looks at knife when it raises before each stab
>from Michael's perspective
Who the fuck looks at the knife while they're stabbing someone?
I've been watching them since September, actually. Trying to go in a chronological order. Mostly been favorites from Universal and Horror, but I'm finally inching toward the '80s so along with the first three Halloween films, I'm planning the Howling, Creepshow, and eventually Fright Night.

Watched Young Frankenstein and Night of the Demon (1957) twice so far this year. I'm a fan of them though, so I couldn't help myself.

The sequel even moreso.

>imdb.com/title/tt3118452/?ref_=nv_sr_3

one down

>a couple dozen people are on platforms in a room and keep getting dropped or killed as this mechanism randomly (or not) chooses them to die, lots of red and black
My first thought was Dasshutsu Game DERO! except for the red and black. But the movie sounds interesting too.

Is this worth watching? Or the Scream tv series?

I love slasher movies but don't know about putting that genre a tv show format.

Does anyone have those horror movie recommendation lists?

not what I was thinking of but looks terrifying as well

>The Witch
shit
>The Conjuring 2
good
>Dark Skies
good
>Lights Out
good
>We Are Still Here
ok
>Deliver Us From Evil
good

>some pretty solid suggestions here
Thanks

The 2nd movie you asked about in the other post is They Look Like People. Tense low-budget sci-fi psychological horror. I liked it.

I am currently waiting for my Puppet Master 10 disc box set to arrive, and would like to share my joy and imatience with you all !
Happy Halloween !

Oh,shit, that's the answer to the second horror movie this user was asking about:

I think, I'm kinda stoned

>that's the answer to the second horror movie
>The 2nd movie you asked about in the other post is They Look Like People

fucking kill yourself

Freaks is fucking great. The ending when the freaks come out in the rain to get the bitch is one of the most atmospheric scenes in horror cinema.

Not really a scary movie, but it hits the Halloween vibe well. Soundtrack is 10/10.

I really liked that movie until the robot actually started attacking. From that point on, it became a generic shitty slasher movie, complete with a moment where the woman trying to run away trips for no reason and then hopelessly tries to crawl instead. Everything up to that point was actually pretty damn good, though.

Re-Animator is pretty damn good. It's corny and overdone, but in all the right ways. Jeffrey Combs is so perfect.

If you liked that go watch picture related. It's made by Ryuhei Kitamura, very stylish.
It's Luke Evans being hysterically badass for 80 minutes Nice kills and gore too.

Shit, I'm gonna go rewatch it now.

>It's an user makes a good thread episode

I think we need a daily /horror/ thread in our lives.

Love me some monster movies

Dog Soldiers needs to be watched atleast once every 6 months.

>The Witch
shit
>The Conjuring 2
good

>Midnight Meat Train
>Godzilla: Final Wars
>Versus
Alright, I gotta give this a view. Better to dow-
>WWE Pictures

No wrasslers in sight! Just mayhem. Don't that the WWE tag stop you.

The Last of Us

who's this semen demon in the middle?

elriva you underaged faggot

Yes, I'm 13

see

It's lagging ( ._.)

I don't even know if I've seen anything with her, but now I feel old.

Someone make a new thread with the link of the stream and stuff.
Let's get some people in here.

Anyone have any idea where this is from?

That's a wizard.

say again?

The epitome of bad hollywood action infused horror remakes

Jason X is one of the best of the series, kys

The sequels are even better m8

>Tetsuo II
A fucking masterpiece.
>Hellraiser
Some of the best effects in a gore film to this day, otherwise weak and dated.
>Phantasm V
For diehard fans only, I cried tears of joy multiple times.
>Only Lovers Left Alive
I know it's not horror but thy brought it back to cinemas for one day here in Berlin yesterday and every ticket came with a bottle of tomato juice to drink during the blood drinking scenes, it was a great experience.
>Vampire's Kiss
Literally the superior version of American Psycho and Nic Cage's best performance.

I hated that piece of shit.

>LOUD NOISES
>JUMP SCARES WHEN I OPEN A FRIDGE

You have officially shit taste in horror.

Fear is subjective. When people ask for recommendations, they always fail to mention what scares them. You stupid idiot. You're going on the list. It's like asking for music recommendations without mentioning a genre.

You just have to get yourself started back on movies. You'll adjust eventually. I still know that feeling, though. I need to turn my second monitor off when I'm watching something or I'll start browsing Cred Forums and miss a good 30% of the movie.

Anyway, here's everything I've watched so far this month. This doesn't include the 25 I watched last month.

Well, your opinion is terrible.

...

>The Woman in Black (2012)
3/5, would have benefited from being a bit more subtle in its horror and it's hard to buy Daniel Radcliffe as a grieving widower, but competently made with great set and production design that makes for a comfy/disturbing atmosphere.

>Twilight Zone: The Movie
I'm going to review each segment individually.
>Prologue/Epilogue
2/5, totally unnecessary, but sort of fun to see young Albert Brooks and Dan Aykroyd riff play off of one another.
>Time Out
2/5, underwhelming for something that claimed the lives of two child actors in order for it to be made.
>Kick the Can
1/5, if you ever want to see Steven Spielberg's worst qualities come together in a single project, here it is. Absolutely terrible in its vomit inducing saccharine sentimentality and nostalgia masturbation.
>It's a Good Life
2/5, could have been made into a much more effective segment, but at least the effects are fun.
>Nightmare at 20,000 Feet
4/5, now we're talking, our boy George teams up with our favorite cunt John Lithgow in making the only segment that does a classic episode any justice.

>Salem’s Lot (1979)
3/5, great atmospheric horror and an interesting suburban update of the classic vampire tale that is played surprisingly straight, but the (then) limits of the television format hold it back, both in its editing (limiting horror segments for obvious commercial breaks) and uninspired set design and cinematography. Great vampire make up and effects though, and James Mason steals the show in every scene he's in.

>Under the Skin
4/5, haunting "no budget" art house science fiction horror film, all but Cronenbergian in nature. Only thing I felt lacking was a stronger conclusion, though cinematography vise the ending was beautiful.

...

As others have said, DON'T FUCKING SHOW THE MONSTER. Also, a good setting is key. Note some fantastic, great horror films. Alien, The Shining, The Thing, Eraserhead, all have stark, lonely, isolated settings.

Antichrist

Is there one for the 80's?

>the vvitch
>shit
>the conjuring 2, lights out and dark skies
>good
this is some solid faggotry

Halloween (original)- 6.5/10
Halloween II- 5/10
Halloween 3- 6.5/10
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original)- 7.5/10
In Fear- 3/10

Everyone who likes horror should play Silent Hill 1-3, even if you normally don't like video games. These are the only truly artful video games, and some of the best horror in any medium ever.

The Purge is 3 times as entertaining as a Parasnormal Inactivity movie.

They're all shit though.

name one horror that is actually scary

alien

>tfw already watched literally everything
worst feeling

bet you haven't seen trouble every day

another user here
I got you, have tons of these horror lists

Thanks!

Your mom

no problem

...

Watch Halloween Resurrection for Busta Rhymes.

Korean original is miles better.
Actually I don't really remember anything about this movie except that I watched it first and then A Tale of Two Sisters (which it is a remake of) and thinking the whole time how much worse the American one is.

Original is one of the scariest films I've watched desu.

NIX!!!

>Drag Me to Hell
I'm sorry, this invalidates the list as a whole.

The question is ..did they find the designated street?

I keep getting excited for some reason whenever I see The Univited on TV. Then I find out it's the more recent one and not the old one with Ray Miland

whats wrong with that movie?

Banshee Chapter
