It's impossible to condense a 13 hour story into two hours without massive changes. So right off the bad I'd say it's impossible for your to actually try and edit it into reality.

There are a lot of pointless scenes and dialogue that could be cut though, such as the whole Foggy mad at Matt sequence. Stuff that doesn't add to the episode in any way

Luke Cage would be about him returning from jail to get revenge on Willis Stryker, who framed him and got him sent there in the first place.

they should have done the reverse. Cottonmouth should have remained low-level but been set up, along with his sister, as the villain for season 2. If they wanted to do Stryker and link him to Luke's past they should have done it from the start.

put him in if he was done right and not a complete waste of a character like the show already did.

there, you just cut everything down to like 5 hours at least.

Cottonmouth is not important to Luke's backstory. I have no clue why they focused on him so much in the marketing and completely rewrote Diamondback when Diamondback is more important and relevant to Cage's backstory.

If Cottonmouth was in the movie, I'd go similar to the comics and have Cottonmouth be a a drug kingpin who Willis stole heroin from and planted in Luke's house to frame him

I agree with this. Cottonmouth should've had a minor presence and be set up for season 2. Diamondback should've been killed off. I liked how in the comic his arrogance got the best of him and caused his death.

Cut anything that isn't daredevil and punisher.

they need to cut down some of the side-character arcs imo. I don't mind it to an extent, but you have like 3.5 hours dedicated to karen/foggy, the addict/twin sister in Jessica Jones, the female cop in Luke Cage.

Most of the time their arcs go beyond their contribution to the title character's plot and into pure emotional garbage. the chess guy/Fish in LC was done well though.

>Remove all antagonists besides Kingpin, Wesley and the gun dealer
>Cut the Stick present day storyline
>Have Karen's case take up the entirety of the movie, ending with her working for Matt and Foggy
>tease Stick and the Hand for the sequel, cut Elektra entirely
>Keep Claire/Night Nurse and make her role more important (like a third act scene of helping Daredevil)

Jessica Jones
>Focus the case on Kilgrave
>Cut all Luke Cage stuff, give another reason for Claire/Night Nurse to appear
>Cut the cop with the special pills plotline completely

Luke Cage
>Basically tell the first half of the plot only, leaving Diamondback for the sequel and allowing Cottonmouth to be the main villain
>Focus on the gun situation specifically, including the Scarf's black book storyline
>End the movie with Cottonmouth getting out of custody after Shades kills Scarf (switching his out with Maria from the show), then have Maria kill Cottonmouth, and have Luke framed for Cottonmouth's murder, leading to the authorities learning about his old life and escape from prison
>Keep Shades and Maria in the mix as untouchable antagonists for the sequel

Not that hard. Just cut out the shit that needs to get cut out. In Luke Cage's case, it's like two easily divided films both stretched out. Daredevil's just a slow burn meant to fill the space between him and Kingpin with side villains and gangs. The Jessica Jones storyline is half Luke Cage stuff, so that's an easy fix.

if you mean misty they gave her a bunch of screentime because she's a (potential) future main character. when her arm gets fucked up and she comes out at in the final episode with her huge afro that pretty much teases iron fist and daughters of the dragon. i agree some of her scenes were long winded and should have been more about her detective abilities instead of teasing a never gonna happen thing with luke.

Holy shit can someone do this? Particularly for DD 1 and 2

I've seen two episodes of Luke Cage and so far it's been pretty bad.
>Characters going over things we already know
>Character has a line about moving forward, then has Luke set up a meeting with another character using history as leverage
>Most of Luke's lines fall flat or are inflected poorly
>Incredibly awkward attempt at chemistry between Luke and the cop

Does it get better?

I prefer tv shows to movies. Though all of these Netflix shows should have been 8 episodes for pacing reasons.
