Be me

>Be me
>Be Dan Harmon
>Production on Rick and Morty has started
>Waddle into the writers room carrying two McDonald's bags, a large Dominos Pizza, a bucket of fried chicken and two cartons of Chinese take out.
>Set it all down
>'Oh cool Dan bought us lunch.' Ryan says
>'No!' I chortle obesely 'This is MY lunch!'
>Begin to gorge on McDonalds while rubbing the pizza between my sweaty crack and under my arm pits so I can taste my own flavours
>While I'm shoveling greasy food into my fat face all the writers are cracking each other up with hilarious dialogue
>Before I can even finish my lunch the script is almost complete.
>But it lacks that Dan Harmon touch so I pipe up and say:
>'WHAT ABOUT IF MORTY HAS TO KILL HIMSELF FROM ANOTHER DIMENSION AND WE PLAY THIS INDIE SONG THAT I LIKE!?'
>Ryan and Justin stare at each other, concerned
>'Oh cool, yeah Dan' Justin says 'I get it: You want to have some sort of emotion and depth to this right? I really appreciate the input but, well, in terms of pacing I just don't think it would work. Also, what's the point in spending money on a song? We have a composer and he's very talented.'
>Bang my fat arms on the table 'GODAMMIT THIS IS MY SHOW AND I WANT EVERYONE TO KNOW ABOUT MY INDIE MUSIC PLAYLIST BECAUSE I'M SO COOL!'
>Ryan begins looking visibly distressed, but Justin seems cool and calm.
>'Yeah, Dan, I mean, I was the one who made the original Back to the Future parody this is based on. But you're the man, Dan, that's why we put your name on the title card. The thing is it's just hard to get people emotionally involved in a scene immediately after we've underscored how insane and meaningless the setting is. Y'know? Like, having a sad scene after the main characters have made it clear that the entire universe is disposable would be like if during the Blazing Saddles pie fight scene one of the main characters was revealed to have a cream allergy and then sad music played as they died.
>I proceed to scream until I get my way.

The use of the song "Look on down from the bridge" was actually Justin Roiland's idea and he's stated in the past that he's a big fan of Mazzy Star. Nice try tho

I don't know who's idea it was, but I remember early on when they did the Love Serum episode and said there was no continuity in the show, so don't over think any of it. Flash forward to S2 finale and there's all sorts of Rick Sanchez mythology that ends in a NIN song and some cliffhanger.

It's like when Adventure Time went from being about adventures to relationship drama

Harmon hates serialization, it goes against his pointless Campbell-for-retards story circle shit, but the format is very popular so either Justin or the network must have talked him into it.

Better than
>cliffhanger season finale is the only event of import in the entire season
>highlights from this finale: nine inch nails and known video game player Egoraptor

>Dan not drinking
>Justin writing

Everything is wrong.

All I want is for Dan to actually read this. He would probably get a real kick out of it.

t. Dan Harmon

>it goes against his pointless Campbell-for-retards story circle shit
It really doesn't, though. It just changes it from a bunch of half hour story circles to one big season long story circle.

And then spend an entire podcast episode justifying himself to a crowd of aspie Neets while lapping up their adoration

you forgot about the vodka drinking

We need to get the actual Dan harmon to punch up this green text.

His Story Circleâ„¢ necessitates a return to normalcy by the end of the half hour. What serialization would do is prevent that return to normalcy, creating sort of story waves out of episodic drama that only maybe come together at the end of a season. It takes his turgid story-assembly-line process and loosens it, triggering Dan's autism.

Harmon here. Can confirm this is all true.

What happened to #andamovie you piece of fat human garbage white obese bastard.

Timestamp, you fat cum-gutter fuckface

Harmon again. The Community gang (not Chevy Chase) will return in "Dr. Strange," coming to theaters this November!

For real though, when the fuck is season 3 coming out?

Young, not-fat Dan Harmon was actually pretty good-looking. He also used to be smart and quite articulate before his brain drowned his Ketel One. I guess self-destructiveness isn't good for you.

Hey Dan, how's the wife?

Rick and Morty isn't serialized. It's standalones with continuity. Adult Swim notoriously hates serialization (it got Metalocalypse cancelled) and Mike Lazzo has explained that an overabundance of story ultimately kills the comedy. That said, I think both Roiland and Harmon are clearly fans of "callbacks" and are just experimenting with making the callbacks carry weight so it's more than just " 'memba that joke?"

>watch Monster House
>piss bottles galore
>redhead girl of affection
>dad gets cucked

That shit is Harmon to a T.

I know you're trying to hurt me. Maybe you should take a look at yourself and try to understand what the things you say say about you. I'm trying to create entertainment! to make people feel good! Because, at the end of the day, we're all human, and we all need comfort, and when we resign ourselves to our televisions we're all just looking for something we can understand, something to break through the violence and the hate that fills us like virions to be spread by those with the greatest inclination toward sickness--sad little people, like you. Also, my current girlfriend does daddy-daughter roleplay, go fuck yourself.

P.S. : I'M A GENIUUUUS

the scene you're referencing wasn't emotional, it was clearly black humour. Morty was clearly traumatised and Rick didn't give a fuck, neither were sad, and it was played for laughs.

Yeah you're not Dan. And if you are. Meh. I expected better.
Go put that in your pseudo adult cartoons, you degenerate.

It won't be until next year some time.

>You know how Justin Roiland can stutter and screech and it's kinda funny?
>Yeah, I guess
>Let's make an entire show based on that premise

Haha.

youtube.com/watch?v=-cuqqHGpRDE
Dan Harmon did nothing wrong.

>>'No!' I chortle obesely 'This is MY lunch!'

Can we talk about how shitty Ryan Ridley is? He was the worst part about Grandma's Virginity Podcast. He's the worst part about the DVD commentaries. The ratio of his ego to his talent is astronomical. I want him to die.

really? what about "Great Minds with Dan Harmon"?

>it's a Spencer gets shoved down our throats despite repeatedly proving himself as an uncharismatic and unfunny person episode

Spencer has a kind of anti-charisma which works for their crowd. And he is funny 1 out of 5 times.

He was good as a DM for D&D. He has never made me laugh outside of D&D. I don't blame him. He's just not funny. He's being forced into the spotlight.

HARMON!
DAN FUCKING HARMON!

FINISH LA COSA NOSTROID!

GODSDAMNIT, DAN!
FINISH!
LA COSA!
NOSTROID!

you know he's never going to.. write a fanfic ending or something

>adventure time will never be a fun DnDesque adventure show and will continue to be a dumb relationshit sjw show
What went wrong

And that is why to this day I still indulge in a regular blood ritual to curse his lazy ass and will continue to do so until there is a conclusion.

>like if during the Blazing Saddles pie fight scene one of the main characters was revealed to have a cream allergy and then sad music played as they died.
That sounds pretty funny though.

He kinda of looked like bill murray.

>there are other actual human beings who have read La Cosa Nostroid

what the fuck

Scud, La Cosa Nostroid, Poison Angels and Pulp Magazine were my jams back in the day.

What's Dan Harmon's best work?

I haven't seen too much of his work maybe but I think Community season 3 had his best bits. >That pillow fort/war episode
>That detective episode

Also bump

Let's not discount the possibility that he wrote it. I'm sure he ventures over here from time to time.

>actual serious moments happen 3 times in two seasons
>WHY IS IT TRYING TO BE SO SERIOUS OMG IT'S NOT DEEP I'M DEEP I'M THE TRU DEEPEST PERSON AND I LIKE DEEP THINGS FOR DEEP PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF

>It's a Jeff derails the conversation to remind everyone he's a feminist episode

>Dan Harmon's best work?
bits of Community, particularly from the cold opens
my personal favorite scene he wrote is an after credits gag tho. from s06e03. it's just good dramatic writing, and the style is weirdly compelling.

I'd be curious to know if other people like it too

Monster House

first couple hundred Harmontowns (his podcast)
I'm dead serious

>I think rape is bad.

I've seen some of the last ones before he decided to make them pay per view. Liked them. Haven't seen the first hundered or so ones though.

Didn't Harmon get cucked by his wife?

>chortle
Nice 2014-2015 Reddit buzzword. Did you copy this whole post off there?

pretty much yeah

she went to ireland to 'find herself'

Most retarded post I've ever seen.

It's like you don't know what words are or how they work.

Seriously dude, go outside

>UR REDDIT HURR

Fuck off dipshit.

Stop engaging the handicapped on this site.

>Blazing Saddles pie fight scene one of the main characters was revealed to have a cream allergy and then sad music played as they died.

Ace.

That's not comedic at all.

(sheltered neo-liberal applause)

>dailymotion.com/video/x2tr4f9
Reread it. He said 'good dramatic writing'.

you forgot
>play an edgy Nine inch nails cover of a johnny cash song

This had BETTER be a ruse, faggot.

No, he reverse-cucked her. They divorced because he was fooling around with another hotter coworker.

and lo and behold it worked perfectly

This shit looks reddit af

what does look reddit mean?

sorry for asking i don't visit that place

I hate that Renee looks nothing like this anymore. Now the joke doesn't make sense.

How was it good dramatic writing? It was just a bunch of weird images disguised as dialogue.

Riley Reid killed it last night on Harmontown

Nice try, Dan.

Not him but that was lame as fuck and totally felt out of place. The NIN version sucks ass too and the Cash cover is superior in every aspect.

Don't know I haven't watched it. I just quoted the guy's post.

It means the guy using it is underage.

where can I watch this shit without financially supporting that fat fuck's lifestyle?

I agree, Cash's version blows the original out of the water because he's you know, Johnny Fucking Cash. It just rustles my jimmies if people think NIN's is the cover.

Get some knowledge. Hardcore mafioso comic with a cyber bend. La Cosa Nostroid was The Sopranos before Tony Soprano's balls dropped.

> It just rustles my jimmies
That was the idea of the post.

doubt.jpeg

Then he succeed in getting his (You) I felt the need to point it out, autism must have kicked in...

I wonder how the feminists in the audience dealt with having a hot pornstar in the room.

Yeah, the after credits stuff from season 6 was fucking gold, especially the giant watch one, and the community board game one in the final episode.

>projecting your own shittyness onto someone you've never met so you can self-loathe from afar

Oh to be insecure enough to be triggered this hard by like 3 conversations out of 200+ episodes

It's even weirder considering how he constantly tries to shoehorn in stories about him meeting celebrities and shit, especially when he's already told the story on the podcast before.
Him being a feminist is such a dumb thing to complain about in comparison

I mean, I like Spencer, but it's possible that some people don't without them projecting.

Parts of Community, particularly season 3 and some misc concept episodes.
A bunch of his Harmontown improv
Lazer fart is also pretty good.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-q4zhc8AFA

I really liked that series finale epilogue.

Heat Vision and Jack

>everyone who doesn't like someone is projecting

Sure thing faggot.

Do I need anything to get into this show other than watching the first episode?

A big black dildo would probably help.

Why?

No skin off my back that you miss out. Fireman Press published wicked books back in the day.

I don't know.
How's your life, user?

Pretty mediocre.

>yfw OP actually becomes a brief sketch in a Rick and Morty episode, with maybe aliens who are using Q type powers to create a scripted reality show out of the world around them

>mediocre
Leave while you can. This site will fuck you up.

>who's idea

That must be an old picture.

Dan Harmon is more than 50% bald at this point.

You're speaking as if I'm new, but I'm not. I don't know what gave you that impression.

This place is pretty deleterious, but it's easy pleasure and I'm an addict.

>only two chins
>no gray hair
>no terrible beard
Of course it's old.

This is pretty much the caricature that Dan Harmon jokes about his role on Rick & Morty so...

This.

If he included a 50 gallon barrel of ketel one I might have believed him.

>an overabundance of story ultimately kills the comedy
maybe if your a shit writer lmao

>tfw Harmontown will never be as good as it was during its first 100 episodes.
