The quips in the MCU work though. As much as people keep complaining about them. It works in the context of that unvierse. Its more bright and colorful and has never taken it self too seirously.
> She with you?
> I thought she was with you xDDD
You fuckfaces aren't tired of talking about this shit yet?
Batman v Superman is humanity's greatest achievement till date.
Of course we are still talking about it.
...
I like DC movies for the serious tone and the Marvel Netflix series for the serious tone. The marvel movies are too kid friendly and the DC CW shows are kinda boring.
bothered that people actually believe that every single movie made based on some comic book needs fucking Tony Stark making jokes.
The first ironman was really good and fun, retards everywhere actually want Superman, Batman, Cap America, Hulk, Wolverine, Magneto, Dr Doom, Silver Surfer. Darkseid, Luthor, and whatever you want on the screen to act like a millionaire manlet with daddie issues that can't shut up.
I'm bothered by capeshit in general don't you fucking children got anything better to watch fuck sake fucking retards arguing my capeshit is better than your capeshit i swear to god
>STOP LIKING WHAT I DONT LIKE
Now I like it more.
They tried, I guess. Although it's arguable they didn't.
they're superheroes, they're meant to be enjoyed by kids, if your capeshit movie is boring to kids then you've failed
Lol kill yourself my man
>they're superheroes, they're meant to be enjoyed by kids, if your capeshit movie is boring to kids then you've failed
I hate this LOL FOR KIDS bullshit, it's so goddamn disingenuous how people try to act like either adults can't find enjoyment in the movies or that there are thing specifically tailored for them
DC is a helluva lot more mature when you regard how their films look like films where as marvel's mcu movies look worse than Bollywood in most ways. Someone post the Thor vs Loki fight.
Kids don't read comics. When's the last time you saw a ten year old that knew what Watchmen was.
>"I thought she was with you"
>"Even though a week ago I used my detective skills to find out exactly who she is"
Ok, is this just a totally "lol so random!" quip?
I didn't watch Ant-Man, might sooner or later, so I don't know if he needs vitamin c or something because of the Pym Particles. So is this a reference from the Ant-Man movie?
That's a lotta hot Evil Dead throwbacks. Got any more spicy webms?
...
what bothers me is the constant bullshit about quips and maturity and consolewars
i thought the board was finally done with this shit
fucking i have no doubt all these threads are one guy
No, you idiot, he just says that going giant causes him to pass out.
You'll have to stop hiding behind that webm one day.
Everyone jokes about Cloverfield making people spew with it's first person view but god damn these quick cuts are what disorients me.
It'll never be done.
But take solace in the fact it won't be quite as prominent until 2019 when Justice League 2 and Avengers 4 will be release two months apart and featuring Darkseid and Thanos as main villains.
I completely agree OP
Imagine if the Marvel just started taking themselves abit more seriously rather than having quips every 2 minutes to remind people "LOL WE ARE SO LAME, JUST LIKE THE COMICS - WE DON'T TAKE OURSELVES SERIOUSLY!"
No wonder their movies are so forgettable
Ok it's not like Civil War didn't come out this year.
No, he does say the orange slices thing
Did you watch the movie?
>No wonder their movies are so forgettable
UUUU
I've always been liking DC a bit more, so i may be biased
but yeah i thought BvS and CW were really similar movies except from how BvS treated the core subject : deling with the god-like powers and hope to handle those things happening now. Then yeah the Doomsday arc was kinda not that good,
Where CW just said ok let's use this to do something completely unrelated and set up the most stupid ending and add some "le iron starke is drunked againe lole" jokes
+ CW's mcguffins and plot carriers were 100% more stupid than Martha but nobody will ever remember the parts :
- scarlet witch saved hundreds but yeah lets shit on avengers because they let niggers die in the process
- etc
It gets really clear when you watch cinemasins for both movies i think
You retard, he says the oranges line BECAUSE he's about to pass out, like he says he would.
So it's not a random quip, as that other retard implied.
Are we pretending DC movies are not filled with jokes too, and they just don't land because the tone is so melodramatic it doesn't lend itself to levity?

Show me 5 iconic scenes from the entire Marvel series
1. Cap vs Iron Man vs Thor
2. Starlord's dance-off
3. Cap vs Winter Soldier
4. "I am Iron Man"
5. Loki on throne
i could go on
>2. Starlord's dance-off
not him and i prefer DC but i'd say
- iron man's first flight
- sam raimy's spiderman's fight with octopuss
- antman's fight with bad guy
- guardians escaping from prison
- ultron's post-drinking scene (well at least it's fun and casual, no capekino is that iconic so..)
How can Marlel even compete?
Tell me, do you meme?
you will
That doesn't make sense
nothing that happens in the marvel films matters. there's no weight to anything, no sense that what's going on in the film will have any real effect on the cast. a quip can cure anything.
with DC's universe (so far at least), losses are felt and characters actually have arcs.
It doesn't work you fuckin 14 year old
>4. "I am Iron Man"
Literally the only iconic scene you mentioned
Even worse 0/5
>BUT: DC seems to be a bit more mature. Marvel is too many quips.
There's nothing mature about being an edgelord. WB makes movies for angsty teenagers with lofty, meaningless dialogue and explosions. Marvel/Disney makes movies for everyone.
The quips don't bother me. So far, I've enjoyed them both for very different reasons.
>2. Starlord's dance-off
What?
>3. Cap vs Winter Soldier
Not really
>4. "I am Iron Man"
Somewhat ruined when it's made almost meaningless by the fact that he kept on making suits and further reflection that it doesn't strongly relate to the plot or the internal conflict Iron Man had.
>5. Loki on throne
Not really.
>sam raimy's spiderman's fight with octopuss
Not in MCU.
>antman's fight with bad guy
Nope.
>guardians escaping from prison
Acceptable, but very memorable.
>ultron's post-drinking scene
What?
Why would you need oranges when you pass out? That's fucking gay
>There's nothing mature about being an edgelord
There's nothing mature about calling things "edgelord" just because they make you feel uncomfortable because you're a babby-core piece of shit.

You left out the

Only kids care about how "dark and mature" they're superheros are. Adults just want a fun movie not teenage angst in a cape.
will add to ebin pasta
And only kids spell "their" as "they're."
>Adults just want a fun movie not teenage angst in a cape.
Woah there, quit projecting your babbycore retardery onto adult that isn't a man-baby in arrested development, some of us need a little more depth to a movie other than random jokes and shallow, meaningless action.
onto every adult*
kekd out loud, marvel on suicide watch
>4. "I am Iron Man"
Were you born retarded? He was uncovering his identity to the media, you simp.
>Tarantino flicks
Do you mean movies for you tasteless children with videogame sensibilities?
Perfect example of the teenager Snyder's movies appeal to. Remember how Nolan elevated superhero movies to the level of proper crime dramas? That trained chimpanzee brought them back to music videos from the 90's.
>I'm such an adult, I call everyone a kiddy
You'll get out of that phase once you hit 16 or so.

Congrats, you are a rational adult.
I hate Marvel just as much as the next guy but if you aren't aware that oranges cure cramps then you're all bigger plebs than I initially thought
He says orange slices because he's a fucking lame dad taking his daughter to like soccer games and shit when he's not Ant-Man so his life is animal crackers and juice boxes instead of doing blow off hooker's tits like Tony Stark or jerking off to Ronald Reagan speeches like Steve.
lol what a fucking loser
These are the heroes that Marvelcucks look up to?
They never mentioned cramps so you're automatically wrong
Did they specifically mention orange slices in his movie?
No, dumbass.
I don't know if you're from some kind of irrelevant country where kids get sold into prostitution instead of going to little league games or whatever, but it's an obvious reference to having a pre-teen kid.
>proper crime dramas
You mean the kind where getting caught is part of the master plan? Twice?
We don't know he's a father
No it's not
That's like thinking white people can write black people
Nothing wrong with such a plot device, other than overuse in later years.
They used it back-to-back in TDK and TDKR.
Grimdark and edgy isn't mature though.
I saw SS and BvS in theatres and both times a whole group of kids walked in and I honestly felt bad because I had some idea of what was coming.
How come DC goes for such a serious tone but still end up making the characters one-dimensional? I liked the fact that in Civil Wars they actually talked about their problems and both Tony and Cap were justified in what they did.
There's only a couple movies I actually felt it was done wrong, like Thor the Dark World and Iron Man 3. Guardians of the Galaxy, which so many people here sperg out about, actually seemed more balanced about knowing how and when to use jokes, because it was actually driven by how the director wanted to use humor, as opposed to executive mandate.
They used it once in each movie, I don't see your point.
Not every superhero works the same you idiot. Grimdark shit works for batman and suicide squad but it wouldnt work for thor or antman.
Its about consistency of tone. Theres a reason nolan didnt have catwoman in her usual type of outfit for example.
But you faggots think all hero movies should be the same. youre all as bad as the execs that kept butchering suicide squad.
Remember when everybody loves DC and believe in?
Damn I miss those times
Only suicide squad
DING-DING
THIS ISNT A CAR
WHERE WERE YOU TRAINED - ON A FARM?!?
You blind to all the fucking money Disney is making?
That was back when superman was a superhero. Dc movies are now too "mature" to be "mere" superhero movies.
>IS SHE WITH YOU, DAWG?

Jesus Christ how i fucking hated that scene.
It made me physically angry.
Same reason i fucking hate new Star Trek, cant go more than 5 minutes without a shitty forced joke.
>comicbooks and related stuff is for children
People still believe this?
I hope in some point Warner and DC take a breath, use good writers and directors and make a good DCCU that does justice to their characters
I wish WB didn't fuck with Ayer's vision in Suicide Squad.
Seemed like it was going to be a masterpiece but then it was edited to hell and back.
I dont like Joker tattoos but the cut scenes make me feel like the character would have been pretty good
That's bananas you fuck.
>no sense that what's going on in the film will have any real effect on the cast.
I like how you gave yourself an out to being disproved when someone points out ways characters actually are effected in the movies by saying no "sense" that it's happening. As in "Yeah the characters have losses and change over the course of the movies, but my subjective sense of it isn't there, because there are jokes."
>Remember how Nolan elevated superhero movies to the level of proper crime dramas?
Nope. Nice bait though since there are retards who believe that and sincerely enjoy TKDR.
>Remember when everybody loves DC
No. Your cartoons were enjoyed by kids, some of their parents maybe, and Kevin Smith. Everyone else remembers Batman and Robin.
Does anyone else agree with the safe and Cred Forums-approved opinion you've already posted on this board 400 times. Gee, I don't know faggot. What do you think?
TKDR?
lol your pleb level is showing.
I remember Batman, Batman returns and Batman TAS
>forgetting Batman Beyond
My point is that were it used intelligently, it would be understandable, but in both cases, it's used as a means to lazily establish the villain as some sort of diabolical genius who's thinking a dozen moves ahead of those around him, but instead, their plans either consist of illogical nonsense or circumstances not only beyond their control, but also beyond their ability to even know, up to and including those same events occurring precisely when they need them to by mere happenstance.
Skyfall suffers from precisely this same problem. It happens when writers and directors either assume their audience is retarded, or they are themselves.
I call such plot points "smartarded."
>Remember how Nolan elevated superhero movies to the level of proper crime dramas?
Have you gone back and watched the Nolan Batman trilogy lately? It's pretty bad. Also his version of Batman is weirdly asexual. Even Zack Snyder understands that Batman can be both sad and horny.
Yeah I'm sad and horny 24/7
Finally, a billionaire, genius masked vigilante that I can relate to.
Not even kidding.
Schumacher make a better and horny Bat
it doesen't work, it's just shitty writers trying to imitate Bendis's writing for the avengers which was already shit to begin with, the man can only write dialogues which are comprised of snarky remarks and everyone he writes in a group just acts like spiderman
Literally everyone else who has made a Batman movie has understood the perv angle on it except Nolan.
the difference between Marvel and DC is like the difference between Hansen and Linkin Park, but they're still both terrible.
>their plans either consist of illogical nonsense or circumstances not only beyond their control, but also beyond their ability to even know, up to and including those same events occurring precisely when they need them to by mere happenstance.
The Joker, sure but that description doesn't fit Bane's actions at all. The planned captivity was just the short intro scene.
That would be disregarding Whedon and other people's writing and over-generalizing all of the movies into one convenient pot. That's why the marvel = quips meme just doesn't work.
>Grown ass adult calling other people children because they have different tastes in movies.
Love the irony here. It's hillarious.
1. Tony Stark Breaking out of Afghani Cave with the First Iron Man suit
LARGE GAP
2. Avengers Assembling after Hulk wrecks the Space Worm
3. Iron Man vs Thor
4. Captain America's War Bonds Campaign
5. "I'm with you til the end of the line."
Shit, I'm struggling to think of memorable scenes in Man of Steel, besides buildings crashing and the fucking iHop.
youtube.com
> Mature movies for mature viewers such as myself.
It's got plenty!
1. Clark Kills Zod
2. Zod's Soul Speech
3. Smallville Battle
4. Zod's Message to Earth
5. Clark's Vision/Zod's Plan
>1. Clark Kills Zod
>2. Zod's Soul Speech
>3. Smallville Battle
>4. Zod's Message to Earth
>5. Clark's Vision/Zod's Plan
I only remember the necksnapping out of those. The smallville battle was just like all the other battles in the movie, really.
Every single childhood flashback, too.
Holy shit, did I love Zod's broadcast. Could you imagine the effect something like that would have on people? Full-on panic mode.
Man of Steel is one of Snyder's worst movies, it just feels so impersonal. BvS was way better in that regard, but I'd still say either Sucker Punch or Watchmen is his best.
>BvS was way better in that regard
Not really, you just know what he's going for at that point, so it doesn't come as much of a shock. Also I fucking lol'd at any of his committee-written marketing vehicles being "personal". Good job, you have a knack for the ridiculously stupid, you should do stand up.
Is that scene even from the movie? Looks like some detergent commercial.
>He was a good friend
N4-PR > TR-8R
>committee-written marketing vehicles
Watchmen is based on a critically acclaimed graphic novel, so it definitely was committee written. Sucker Punch was written by Snyder and Steve Shibuya, it was a passion project of his. BvS could be called a lot of things but it's definitely personal. Mass market appeal wasn't the first thing on its mind at least, which you can tell from the angry reception it got from some longtime fans. Zack Snyder is definitely not one to follow public opinion.
*wasn't committee written
>Watchmen is based on a critically acclaimed graphic novel
Watchmen is an abortion that came from someone who didn't understand the original story, and thought it looked kewl and the violence was dope. It has so much licensed 80's garbage music it's almost uncanny.
Sleep tight N4-PR
That fucking 99 Red Balloons song did not fucking fit. At all.
>DC seems to be a bit more mature
have you seen the trailer for Wonder Woman and Justice League?
oy yoy yoy...
The violence was gory to highlight what psychos the "heroes" were. I'll never get why people think Snyder didn't understand Watchmen. I think it was partly the fact that he was kinda taking the piss out of it a bit, rather than being totally reverent.
These cartoons were absolute kino.
The Jon Stewart and Hawkgirl romance episodes were awesome
Yes, the one that revealed that Pa Kent always saw the potential that Clark had and the role he hoped he eventually grow into.
It's not stated verbally; it's just all over Pa's face and the knowing smile that Ma Kent gives him, but I wouldn't necessarily expect film aficionados to pick up on it, film being a visual medium and all.
>Yes, the one that revealed that Pa Kent always saw the potential that Clark had
Oh you mean because he could juggle tractors at the farm? He must be some kind of genius.
Please take this in the friendly, supportive spirit with which it's intended.
At present, you are a dull, unimaginative, wasteful. vapid excuse for a human being and you really should look into changing that.
DC has better characters.
Marvel has better stories.
I think that's it.
Did you consider the possibility that he recognized women don't care about Batman, and he wasn't making these movies for literal faggots like you?
>Marvel has better stories.
Then why is every world renown graphic novel attached to DC in some way?
This is what the dunning-kruger effect looks like, lads. You can't even stay on topic, much less discuss film like an adult. So much for these piece of shit movies being for more "mature" audiences.
Yeah, I was going to point that out, too. If anything, Marvel has better characters, at least when it comes to drama and pathos. DC has better stories and themes. You sort of have to when some of your characters are figurative or literal gods. The only Marvel POVs that are remotely on that power scale are Thor, the Hulk, and the Silver Surfer.
The quips wouldn't be that bad if they didnt come fucking constantly regardless of the current tone of the film.
>Powerfuler characters make 4 better stories like muh DBZ
Jesus shit, you've been circle jerking about this tripe for so long you've actually started believing your own bullshit.
So you're citing my evaluation of someone's character, or appalling lack thereof, because they make a perfect non-point about juggling tractors as evidence of my assuming competence I don't actually possess?
You want a good look at Dunning-Kruger in effect, take a long hard look at the excellent work being produced by the makers of that magnum opus of film-making that is Space Cop.
>DC has better characters.
Yeah, those 300 reskins of superman are compelling as fuck.
That Hal Jordan, man, he's such a deep and complex character I love him.
No, but a story about a guy who can quite literally punch through planets still not being able to change the world makes for a compelling read. It's sort of the opposite of escapism, really.
But that is stupid, bc Bruce Wayne literally told that Diana bitch that she knew she was Wonder Woman. He knew it, so when Wonder Woman came, surely he could assume that she was there bc of him and not because of Superman.
SO, even asking "is she with you" is so dumb
Batman > all of Marvel characters
Superman asked that, having had no prior contact with her at all. Bruce knew she was immortal, and shortly before Clark showed back up, she showed him she was a powerhouse on or near Superman's level, and that was about all the time he had to assess what the fuck was happening.
Jesus, at least watch the movie if you're going to feebly attempt to criticize it.
That's until you start explaining his bullshit plot armor. Then he's just another shitty DC mary sue with no real flaws. Aunt May is more interesting and complex than Batman.
Spiderman 1+2 are the most kino cape shit that have ever been released. No superhero movie will ever be better than Spiderman 2.
Maybe Ben Ass-lech's "The Batman",,, but until then nope.
Either way,
"no, I thought she was with you" DUMB
Options:
>Nope.

>Shit yeah, bro.

>I thought she was with you.
cut every .8 seconds
wew lad
>13 cuts in 11 seconds
that's how you know your fight scene is fucking garbage
Batman fucks, Nolan does not fuck. This is why he cannot make a good Batman. Batman should be a rage filled, horned up psycho. Not a dickless, philosopher king douche.
>You boys quit roughhousing in the tv room!
>Batman should be a rage filled, horned up psycho.
Cred Forums what the fuck
It's true.
DCEU about deconstruction of superhero genre (sometimes you need to destroy something to create something beautiful), elivates questions that nobody else means. About collateral damage, what it is like to be indestructible being who raised as human, a veteran vigilante who got his moral compass damaged over years, who is more evil thugs, murderers and rapists or government, etc.
Marvel actually did great job with Iron Man 3 (or based Black did) where they portray your everyday leader of terrorists as actor and real terrorists are guys in suits. And also with Netflix shows, Cox'sDaredevil having many similarities with Batfleck if you will think of that.
Although I want to say STOP THIS COMPANY WARS shit. We need to focus on something more valuable. Like Meme Magick, we have the ultimate power to finally make a world really great like it never was before, we have universal platform for it, we have, don't fucking waste it on your porn and other cheap shit please, you can do it when it is done.
Also I want to apologize for my imperfect English. Praise the Kek, it is real Kingdom come and it could happen RIGHT NOW if you all focus guys.
Before worrying about the whole world, first focus on making sure that the world changes for you.
I agree and kek.
>le Batman is the best
...
DCCU is like CW's Arrow.
Pretends that it is mature only by shooting everything in dark environments with a gritty filter.
Show me 5 iconic scenes from the entire DCEU.
MCU Aunt May is goddess desu.
Also Marisa Tomei has Egyptian eye tattoo on her right beautiful foot. So very likely she will help us with respect to Kek.
He is.
Watch Ant-Man
That's what every Batman besides Nolan's has been essentially. Nolan made him boring.
Bump
