This movie fucked me up really bad for a day or two. I feel like I have to watch it again (and maybe a 3rd time) to catch the things I missed. The speech made by the 'preacher' was unbelievably hamfisted, but it somehow was really powerful.

no, its a story about nonsense that took way too long and the movie felt like it. it was designed to bug the shit out of the viewer to emphasize how long the protagonist has been wasting his time on the project

and yet somehow they made it even more boring than an intentionally boring movie should be. there were so many long as scenes of them whispertalking in dark rooms as well, made each minute feel longer

I loved it and I enjoy how much of a pleb filter it is for people with absolutely no patience.

It's one of the reasons, though. I'd stay away from Anomalisa if you thought this was a slow movie.

I did understand it. Its about the protagonists failure to cope with loss and delving further and further into his psychosis. To the degree that he cant determine if hes awake or in a dream, or if reality or the play is actually reality.

So the film devolves into nonsense to make the viewer unaware of what "reality" is, it becomes intentionally convoluted and incomprehensible. aka fucking nonsense
