Leone was right about Eastwood, but it's not an insult. Actors can just be props, not every role is built to acquire acting nominations. Eastwood was a damn good prop and you should appreciate his craft the way you'd appreciate a well-built cabinet.

Unforgiven is one of my fav movies of all time, and while a few of Clint's lines seem forced & poorly executed ("I saw the angel of death"), the other scenes make up for it.

Pound for pound, De Niro was prob a better actor but he hasn't had nearly as much quality attached to his name as Eastwood, which has also stood the test of time. He'll go down as a great actor/director while De Niro will go down as someone who had some good roles which he excelled in then went straight to the shitter.

Brando stopped giving a fuck since he became the greatest actor in the world and decided to rip off the assholes in Hollywood.
