Movies will scare you only if you're either a prepubescent girl or the movie has a phobia that you do. Other than that, no movie will ever scare you.

videodrome

Rygel?

Standard /horror/ recs

>Noroi: The Curse
>The Borderlands
>The Thing

These three are the only horror movies almost everybody has a positive opinion of, I'll add

>Occult
>Across The River

Though there are many more

>Occult

That feedback that plays as the soundtrack in the movie, is one of the most disturbing sounds I've ever heard.

I somewhat agree. Although I feel like horror movies that are "human based" (i.e. shit like that SAW and Hostel, where humans are doing sick fucked up shit to other humans) are way more scary than some retarded goat or supernatural shit. Can Jason and Michael Myers be kinda spooky, sure...but it's not realistic at all. That Paranormal bullshit isn't really scary unless you buy until all that supernatural bullshit, but human on human violence? That shit is very fucking real son. And ever since I read that the original SAW movie was based on some event that happened it kinda spooks me.

I didn't expect much from pic related but it turned out to be enjoyable with some good body horror/gore moments.

Hostel is a documentary, Hills Have Eyes is fun.

>being scared is comfy
You might want to get a dictionary dude.

>He doesn't relax and fall asleep to certain horror movies

>those repeating digits

spooky

Yeah and I don't laugh at comedies and action films never excite me. And for a drama to actually move me? Lol. Feelings are for pussies.

Sounds like literal psychopath behaviour.

>t. autismo

It was alright. Felt a lot like Rosemary's Baby and the Neon Demon, but both those movies were better. I know that Neon Demon came later, but it's still better. I think Starry Eyes could've been a bit more subtle and the characterss were kind of bad, it really bugged me how instead of her willingly killing her friends to do the deal with the devil it seemed like she was turned evil or something.

Nah, human shit doesn't scare me it just makes me tired, depressed, and in worse case scenarios bored. Torture porn is dying because most people have read worse shit in the news or gore online.

Spooky, supernatural shit is escapist and fun.

Almost every night I fall asleep to some comfy schlock horror. Cosy as fuck.

holy fucking kek I watched this with Cred Forums years ago. Fucking dumb as shit but hilarious.

nigger fuck that I'd never get to sleep. I need to relax after a good horror flick for a bit to take my mind off the spooky things.

>SAW movie was based on some event that happened

It's one of the cheapest hooks a movie could have, desu.

You could say Star Wars and LOTR are based on an actual event that happened and it'd be just as accurate.

This. I always considered comedy and horror to be the most subjective genres. What one person finds amusing can make another person yawn, and vice versa; what one person finds terrifying can make another person stare blankly, and vice versa.

Personally, I find supernatural stuff a bit more unnerving. When it comes to more "human" horror, I just read some human history on Wikipedia or something.

>mfw Unit 731

Depending on the plot and actors it can be fine. Blair Witch and Insidious is supernatural shit done right. But majority of it is fucking awful unless you buy into the retarded spooky spooky ghost bullshit. Am I really supposed to believe some ghost/demon spirit nigga that's been killing shit for thousands of years and has been "dormant" or asleep for even longer just randomly decided to wake up and haunt this middle-class family? Or that some dude that drowned at some camp years ago can literally be sliced up, blown up, set on fire, and basically fucking NUKED and still survive? I mean cmon now nigga. Human on human shit is way scary than any other type of horror movie.

agreed. Human horror sucks, there must be some supernatural element for me to give a shit or be spooked.

What an awful opinion. I'm sorry that you are completely incapable of enjoying anything that's unrealistic, you must get really triggered by Lord of the Rings or Star Wars.

I was most scared about humans after watching Poetry than after watching any so called horror movie.

>comfy
>scare me shitless

You really like pushing the boundaries of words don't you

What do you guys think of Antichrist?

thats was kind of the point, I think it was more that she had a psychotic break and she was deluded into thinking that essentially everyone around her was dragging her down and in that haze she decided that the best option was to kill all of her friends. I think she still had some kind of compassion after she was reborn, when she is shown in bed with the final girl, but maybe she was luring her in to finish the job

boring by that edgelord lars

Watched that the other night
Based Dafoe

It's kino but I don't think I'd call it "comfy horror".

>CHAOS REIGNS

what are some horror/spooky ayy lmao films?

besides the dick shot about 30 secs into the movie, it was bretty good.

I dunno, I just felt like the characters were bad. Especially that bitch where EVERY line she said was some passive aggressive remark.

Europa Report
Banshee Chapter
The Nightmare (arguably)
Skinwalker Ranch, if you like to have your eyes filled with shit

I could see why somebody would think that but I really liked it. Something about movies with really good cinematography and cold atmospheres always get to me. That dick smash was physically painful to watch though.

Seen Europa Report, that was pretty cool. Ain't heard of the other but will check them out, thanks. The Nightmare doesn't seem like ayys but I'd still watch it. Could be cool.

The ending of The Borderlands is literally anti-comfy.

Everything else is, though, but I just wanted to post stuff people on here agree is good

Do watch both of them, they're pretty cool. I like The Nightmare better but it's more of a personal preference.

Supernatural horror appeals to the lowest common denominator.

It felt like a really long movie to me and it's only 108mins. Cinematography was great though, Lars is generally good with that and creating atmosphere at times but felt like a slog to get through.

>he is scared by horror movies

...

>he doesn't like horror movies

how do you faggots enjoy horror without the thrill you get from being afraid?

Even if you usually hate video games, if you love horror you MUST play Silent Hill 1-3. They are the only truly artful video games ever, and they are some of the best horror in any medium.

Enjoying the atmosphere and eeriness, perhaps?

If you actually find a lot of the horror movies you watch frightening that's quite pathetic. Average human being should be scared by less than 10 horror movies in their life time.

Horror movies should be entertaining or interesting. Being scary is a rarity.

why do you keep making this exact same post in every horror thread, just fuck off

If you want to be spooked.

Read sleep paralysis stories before you go to bed.

SH2&3 are two of my favorite games ever. The fact that most of my friends refuse to play them because they're either scary or ((old)) makes me a little sad

Upvoted my fellow manchild.

>you're a manchild if you enjoy anything that couldn't happen in real life
I really just feel bad for you, it must be sad being such a depressive cunt.

is there any sure way to experience sleep paralysis for myself i want to get spooked real good it sounds really cool

The only horror movies that are scary are on both extremes of the quality spectrum.
Shit ass horror movies are "scary" because they keep building tension that leads to a jump scare. These are mostly just annoying but if you can manage to turn off your brain and get invested in the movie you'll get scared.
Then you get the top-tier horror movies like The Shining or TCM which are also very scary.
Most good horror films are not really all that scary, but rely on atmosphere and premise to make for a horrifying situation.

Or if you want to feel your soul being consumed you could actually have them.

she was by far the worst character I agree. My favorite was the manager of the chicken resturant, I mean dude just wanted her to do her fucking job, and just pretend like she enjoyed it while she chased her dream, even though I thought he was going to make her do some lewd acts a la Compliance

Ask on /x/, pretty sure they talk about it all the time.

Sleep paralysis is by no means fun my man
Might sound cool in theory but it truly is a horrific experience, and I've never even gotten any of the hallucinations others get.
The fact that you are conscious and alert, yet have no control over your body is terrifying all on its own, I can't even imagine if I had had hallucinations along with it.

thanks
i want to experience it at least once or is it so bad that i could get ptsd from it?

Go to bed and set alarm to go off in 4-5 hours
Wake up and distract yourself during the next 20 minutes (no computer or cellphone, tho)
Go back to sleep
Enjoy

maximum winter comfy. Just turn off your subwoofer.

I doubt you'd get PTSD even from a bad case
Might make you reluctant to go to sleep for a few days though

thank you i'll try that

I experienced sleep paralysis once because I was in the middle of exams and sleeping like 4 hours a night. I was stressed, had an erratic sleep schedule, was under-slept and was pretty much abusing dexies which is apparently the perfect recipe for sleep paralysis (you could try that).

I woke up and heard a voice say "Stop... don't get up" (it sounded a lot like mine, it didn't even sound sinister). I tried to open my eyes and felt them opening but still couldn't see anything. I thought there might have been a blanket over my face so I tried to move it with my arm and felt my arm performing the action but still couldn't see. I pretty much realized that it was sleep paralysis and figured I'd enjoy the ride. I heard a door slam and then I managed to shake myself awake and open my eyes. There was definitely no door being slammed.

All in all, pretty spoopy. But I didn't really freak out because I knew what was happening. I could totally understand why people in the past thought it was demons.

I liked this movie a lot.

Got really good when she went fully crazy and decided to kill all her friends.

Is Neon Demon a good horror movie?

The Descent was always my go to comfy horror if you want to watch an actually good horror movie.

If you want a bad horror movie, the Saw series is comfy as fuck, but they're shit movies and will probably make you laugh because of how stupid the plot is.

The Thing is another one, but I'm sure you've seen that.

>t. 5 year old

I got it a few times.

>"Wake up"
>Paralyzed
>Look at door
>Handle is rattling furiously like someone is trying to get in
>Slamming noises like someone is continuously slugging it with their fist
>Sit for a minute
>Wake up for real
>Silence

Or

>Wake up paralyzed
>Quiet for a minute
>Then hear scratching
>Realize it's coming from the window
>Sounds like someone is dragging their nails across the net
>Wake up for real

Weirdest

>Become paralyzed
>"Fuck this"
>Try to force myself to move
>Wrench arms away from bed, then feet, then torso
>Now sitting on the side of the bed
>Everything "snaps"
>I'm still lying in bed paralyzed

I thought I'd like, performed momentary astral projection or something.

>The Descent was always my go to comfy horror if you want to watch an actually good horror movie.
I should really rewatch this.

Great horror movie. Idk if I'd call it comfy but it's super atmospheric and the setting in the caves was fantastic. Great cinematography.

The dreadfulness of a sleep paralysis varies from one to another, and greatly depends on your health (physical and mental), mood and ability to confront the overwhelming phenomenon. In most experiences I've had I've managed to stay relatively calm and attentive, if a little distressed. Luckily, I wasn't conscious during the most disturbing ones. However, the feeling of dread upon waking up is so great that I always jump out of bed and instinctively flee towards my bathroom. This has happened 3 times already, and in the last one I only came to my senses as I was about to jump out of the bathroom's window.
So, yeah, not something you want to meddle with.

Recently watched Occult. Just a few days ago. Really enjoyed it and watched Cult right after which is pretty good as well,

pretty much, this.

Watched The VVitch last night, bretty gud

REC, Poughkeepsie Tapes, Martyrs, original Texas Chainsaw, Dawn of The Dead... No movies are actually scary but these are pretty comfy

good thread

>Poughkeepsie Tapes

ugh, trailer for this looked more scary then it actually was

I watched a movie a while back where a few friends go camping in the woods during winter. Something starts messing with them and they hear reports of aliens. At the end of the movie 2 of them escape and walk down the road and you can see tons of aliens watching them. turns out the aliens invaded while they were camping. Anyone that can help me with a title to this movie?

Also just watched this. Thought it was dumb but after it finished found myself appreciating it and spooping myself out

Yeah I just rewatched it and was disappointed. I first watched it when I was 12 and didn't know it was fake so it scared the shit out of me

>sleep paralysis
>one of these fuckers is like six feet tall and standing over my bed
>light shoots out of its eyes and mouth and it starts to scream like a siren
>can only take a sharp inhale and be terrified for my life

made worst by this happening while being next to the gf i just broke up with earlier that evening, who then told me to fuck off

I also just watched Sinister and quite enjoyed it, if anyone else hasn't seen it yet

Most of the times I've gotten sleep paralysis it's been pretty tame. Usually just like 30 seconds or so after becoming conscious I can't really move or open my eyes so it sort of feels like I just haven't quite woken up yet.

The last time it happened though I actually was able to open my eyes which made the whole experience much worse. That and it lasted about 3-5 minutes as opposed to 30 seconds. Closed my eyes intensely as I was afraid of hallucinations. Didn't see any but the anticipation of them along with lack of any kind of contrl was one of the most horrifying experiences I've had personally.
Guess I should count myself lucky if I can say a mild case of sleep paralysis is one of the scariest moments of my life.

Really honestly can't even fathom if I had had auditory or especially visual hallucinations.

I find horror videogames are way scarier than any movie. "Being" there makes it scarier for me.

>Sinister
Don't touch the sequel.

More

I actually kind of agree with this. Most horror movies don't seem to do it for me anymore, but I still enjoy the story, characters, atmosphere, and gore of horror movies. That said, there's still a ton of them I need to watch.

One thing for me though, is that I can't seem to find J-horror (with ghosts and shit) scary, but I found the Fatal Frame series to be terrifying.

I'm the guy you're responding to, now that you mentioned it that last story happened to me exactly. It was more confusing than anything else.

I don't know, even though my experiences were pretty chill, sleep seems to amplify emotions. I've had some terrifying recurring nightmares that were scarier than anything I've ever actually experienced.

I've also had dreams where I felt sadder than I've ever felt and happier than I've ever felt in real life. Reality is just kind of grey.

>videozzzZZzzz

>some retarded goat
Motherfucker. You better not be talking shit about Philip. Nice double dubs too.

Both the Fatal Frame and the Silent Hill games had me shitting my pants. I was terrified even when nothing was going on, they absolutely nailed the atmosphere.

Alien Isolation got me a fair few times, but it was more the atmosphere of the game that sometimes made me dread starting it and playing it. Was intense enough for 2 playthroughs (Hard, then Nightmare) both of which I thoroughly enjoyed. The DLC was good too, but didn't feel worth the cost imo.

Unfortunately I've never quite had the same atmosphere from film for quite some time, Alien was spooky when I first watched it but I saw it as a kid.

Now that I'm thinking about this more I do remember that I actually was able to move just slightly. I started out lying straight on my side but after about 2 minutes I was able, through some sort of extreme willpower, to curl up a bit and move one of my arms.
I think this actually is what made the experience so bad for me. In dreams anytime something frightening or intense happens I end up only being able to move extremely slowly, like I'm constantly stuck in some kind of molasses. This felt like that, but I knew I was awake. Fucking terrible.

I also know what you mean about emotions being amplified. I'm in very loving marriage, but there are times in dreams when I'm "in love" with someone I barely know, and the feeling is more intense than the love I feel in real life save for those few extreme moments where I feel the most love for my wife. Shit's weird.

A couple weeks ago I woke up at night and felt terrified to the core, couldn't properly breathe or move (even though it kinda felt like I could if I really wanted to but my body was just too tired or something and I couldn't find moving important enough to actually move, bit hard to explain my mind was a mess) and I had this strange certainty that I had just been abducted by aliens. Like, I can rememberer remembering things but now I can't remember what it was I remembered back then. Awkwardly that's the best way I can put it.

Reading about it now, maybe it was a weird case of sleep paralysis.

I've had it a couple of times and it's literal hell.

>wake up
>body isn't awake
>literally trapped inside of my own body
>screaming and kicking as loud and violently as possible but my body isn't moving an inch
>literally praying for something to fall in my room or a light to come on so it'll wake my body up
>nothing
>finally someone in my house goes to use the bathroom and I can "wake up"

I had seen that movie "Awake" before...but after having sleep paralysis it really put that shit in perspective for me.

I never had crazy hallucinations and shadow man bullshit although this one time I did have some spooky shit happen.

>laying in bed
>sleep paralysis or something starts happening
>I'm in bed sleep
>feel an old woman putting her hands on my chest
>it feels like she's pressing down on me
>the more she presses down the more I feel like I'm losing my breath and drowning
>wake up
>no shadows
>no illusions
>nothing

It spooked the shit out of me but that's the only "spooky" sleep paralysis story I have...although I have had some paranormal shit happen to me at school once.

One of the Fatal Frame games I played recently literally made me jump in my seat at one point. And the atmospheres are always so tense, creepy, and your resources are so scarce, that I end up just running the fuck away most of the time.

I haven't watched a horror movie in quite some time where I was on the edge of my seat thinking, "Fuck this, fuck this, fuck this..." constantly.

I still need to play Alien: Isolation.

I LOVE the Alien franchise but the first movie doesn't scare me anymore. I enjoy it much more as an atmospheric sci-fi movie than as a horror movie.

Also glad that there are some people on Cred Forums that don't have their heads up their asses concerning vidya.

the only time I've experienced sleep paralysis was when I dreamt I was in a gnarly accident, and "woke up" unable to move because I had broken my neck in the dream, then I woke up for real.

This was the better version of Neon Demon.

>comfy horror
>comfy
>horror
Comfy really has lost all meaning, huh?

I think AI gets really low prices on Steam sale, would definitely recommend. Just play the story before the challenges/scenarios (whatever they are called) if you do, the slow introduction of the Alien is done quite well which the latter can ruin. Pretty obvious advice, but the slow burn is best .

How many of these can you recognize Cred Forums?

youtube.com/watch?v=mpoDnWAUZZw

An American Werewolf in London is p comfy

>implying The Thing isn't one of the comfiest movies of all time

You've got
>small cast
>secluded area
>snowy setting
>everyone is wearing winter clothes which are v comfy
>easy to follow storyline
>good acting

Just because it has some off-putting gore doesn't make the movie uncomfy as a whole. Many horror movies are like this.

This. I also thought the prequel was comfy

Sure.

Is it true that there will probably never be a sequel?

Ghosts of Mars is pure comfy.

man you're so cool and mature

how's middle school treating you nowadays, pal?

I don't really know to be honest, I tried following that a while ago but all I found was an article stating Sega or whoever didn't think it had made enough money to justify a sequel, but that wasn't a sure thing set in stone either. So really, it could be either way. Sorry for the non-answer!

It's okay.

I feel kinda bad for not buying it (I'm a poorfag) but I really do hope it gets a sequel. It probably deserves one.

Too bad survival horror is a half-dead genre anyways.

I watched noroi: the curse the other day. I enjoyed it but everyone I've seen talk about it makes it seem like it's one of the greatest jap horror movies ever made and I just didn't see that. what did I miss? why does everyone love it so much?

Frailty

I like it because it's a good take on found footage horror. It wasn't just idiot kids with a camera, it was pieced together from documentaries, interviews and security camera footage.

More found footage movies should do that.

Lake Mungo did this too.
People seem to hate it but I thought it was pretty solid personally.

Yeah, I think it does personally- it was a breath of fresh air in the video game industry imo and the devs put in a lot of effort considering it was clearly not a sure thing; as much as I like Battlefield etc. it is nice to have some variation from the standard FPS formula. Sadly as you said, it is a genre that could do with some more popularity.

I need to get back to work now, but I hope you get a chance to play it.

BASED BLACK PHILLIP is my homeboy, talk shit get hit faggot.

Sorry if some of these were already mentioned, but here you go...

The Fog
Black Christmas
Sleepaway Camp
Halloween 1 and 6
The Mist
1408
The Wolfman
Drag Me to Hell
The House of the Devil
Friday the 13th 5
Any Nightmare on Elm

These produce maximum comfiness for me

kinda messy, but it's a great list desu

Damn bro if ghosts spook you you're probably underage... Call the mods.

Thank you for liking F13 Part V
I feel like I'm one of the only people that actually likes that one.
It's so ridiculous in the best way.

The little black kid swooping in on the tractor is my favorite moment from any F13 movie.

Dumb how?

4 is actually my favorite, but for some reason I find 5 comfier. I think maybe it has something to do with the fact that I remember it always being on in October when I was a kid.

>black kid swooping in on the tractor
Kek. Amazing

>American Horror Story Season 6
>actually has lots of horror and spoopy moments
>nice visuals as well
Too bad the documentary format fucking RUINS it.
Could easily become the best AHS to date which isn't saying much but still

Just thought the story line was kind of dragging on and the characters were annoying, but after I finished I kind of realized that was the whole point. Definitely thought the ending was awesome. I guess after the first scene where you see the witch feasting on the baby in a ritual, it'd been creepy throughout but it really slowed down for awhile.

Agree with this user. Good for Halloween imo. That movie just feels like fall to me.

Just watched "The Taking of Deborah Logan" last night by Cred Forumss request.

Pretty fucking good honestly. I don't like found footage, but the way they framed it as a documentary made it fine.

Appreciated how grounded the whole movie was, and honestly Alzhiemers is fucking scary enough as is

The final part in the mine was she was swallowing the kid like a snake genuinely creepy.

Thinking I might go back and watch some classic 30-40s horror movies the rest of the year. Never seen any, and Black and White movies make me max comfy

Noroi is a piece of shit, it starts okay and then goes downhill

>from the producers of

I'm just waiting for them to reveal that the documentary format is really a front for a police investigation and the main couple actually killed all these people and are blaming it on 'ghosts'

scariest movie where nothing happens

Martyrs is so fucking bad.

The original? I too thought it was shitty but everybody always says how scary it is. I thought it was boring as fuck

Anyone here ever watch Begotten?

That sleep paralysis meme has to stop, besides we're not here for that but for sweet spoopy kino.

Pretentious boring shit. I started fastforwarding through a scene and then couldn't figure out what speed it was supposed to play at.

Have you seen Your Taste? I heard it was pretty shitty

>t. insecure slasher fan

We get it youngling, humans are horrible people. However, they aren't scary when viewed through the lens of a movie.

I did a long time ago, I don't think I remembered it being scary, I thought it was boring but interesting nonetheless

I watched it because I was interested in videos like these
youtube.com/watch?v=wW6YrdVzyEQ
youtube.com/watch?v=C4vujsj1_pQ

Shitty videos that I thought were disturbing back then, I even made some and uploaded them to youtube, now I watch them and they are pretty dumb

Agreed, I don't understand the hype. It's pretty much an edgelord title

I want to use all my life energy to call you a 12 year old but it's true I'm so jaded my grandmother let me watch hellraiser and shit when I was 7.

Now only shit like Clean Shaven can horrify me

The only effective scene in martyrs is when they finf that scarred, chained woman in the spooky basement. Whole movie should have been like that in terms of atmosphere, yet all we got is senseless gore and later just torture porn

2nd

It's pretentious as fuck but I remember the sounds the Son of Man thing made making me uncomfortable, the weird man thing crawling around, it was so pathetic but in a repulsive way.

Are you me? I found Begotten through the same shit.

>Obedece a la morsa
>El Payaso te observa

Shit man, that brings back some memories. Obedece a la morsa caught me completely off guard when I was younger. I remember feeling very nauseous after watching it.
Nowadays I know the whole story of the Goddess Bunny life and all, but seeing that thumbnail still gives me some creeps.

>I even made some and uploaded them to youtube
Where you in that "Finihario" shit user?

Cool man, where you from?

>Where you in that "Finihario" shit user?

Yes, for a very very short period of time, I thought the editing and all that was pretty cool so I did some just for fun

0

Closest would be some of the horrendous noises Stokhausen made, like this one youtu.be/Y1Psx24n3rM?t=3m27s

I'm a little girl, I had problems going in closets and my basement after watching Kairo.

Argentina my man. Where you from?

I remember trying to get into doing some vids myself, but actually never posted them because I thought "true" fans of the subject would realize and call me out on not really getting it.

Same happened to me with Youtube Poops, but at least those where random garbage I did for fun

Same. For some reason, creepy shit has always relaxed me. Probably due to falling asleep to Coast to Coast AM every night for over a decade.

naah enserio boludo, yo tambien

Nobody would tell you anything, I had some ''support'' by others that did the same shit even though mine were pretty shitty
Youtube poops are harder to make so I never tried it

there are none

DUDE WOLFSBANE LMAO

Que chico es el mundo papá.

I remember trying to contact the Morsa guy, but don't remember if he ever answered or responded me with some Illuminati-tier bullshit.

Then the whole movement just faded away and I kinda grew up of that phase. Still, there where some good ideas and spooks. I have yet to find movies that make me as uncomfortable as that vid did the first time I watched it.

Still have those vids user? Care to link?

I got tricked into watching green goblins balls slap against some hags ass. Repeatedly. In slow motion.

Fuck that movie

Spoil this move for me. What's the story here.

Is it Aliens or Ghosts

I watched this at a horror film festival. Pretty comfy.

Here bro
youtube.com/watch?v=wYa_Y4BM6hQ

youtube.com/watch?v=mrNeaSCXdX4

youtube.com/watch?v=DLEbzlPpj4M

youtube.com/watch?v=Cd1aZjznHWU

The creature (depicted as a Wendigo) is rarely seen during the movie. It only talks and makes the guys crazy stuff and killing each other. The editing they did on the voice is terrific. I had my subwoofer on and it's a calm but booming voice that really gives you shivers.

The movie is loosing it's shit at the end with pseudo-intellectual bullshit. So no idea what the Wendigo really was or if it was real in the first place.

I agree with the rest but you have to explain Drag me to Hell. How is that comfy?

Anybody got some good horror shorts?
Something relatively short but effective like this:
youtube.com/watch?v=0z6xGU2_g9s

Those seem to be on private bro. Don't worry about it tho. How did you make them anyways? I mean, did you select some scenes from horror movies or try to make normal footage spooky by adding filters and reversing the audio?

>4.8 on IMdb

I know it's a shit site, but why do horror flicks always have low ratings on there?

Well, other than the rather gloomy ending, it was a fun film, and Alison Lohman was adorable. Although, come to think of it, it was a bit frenetic, so maybe it doesn't quite fit.

I mean the first Silent Hill movie actually captured the tone pretty damn well. It ruined the actual story, but the tone and look was great.

Most critics don't seem to enjoy horror.
I'd guess because they had to sit through countless shit movies and the genre becoming stagnant.

I got to the part were a pair of balls got zoomed in my face and I closed it before I turned gay.

Not that user, but I get what you mean. Wouldn't consider it comfy, but it certainly was entertaining, just not in the way I expected it to be. Raimi being Raimi I guess.

Still, worth watching for the car scene and the goat scene.

This one is good.

>runs the two asylum windows over and over
>still catch him twice when he blunders into me after I don't straight pursue
>he ends up crawling near the hatch after I finish off the last sabotaging Meg
>stand here for a few minutes to taunt him

Classic Claudette Morel

Ultimate comfy.

check that ass out

It's a decent movie and user is right - lohman was great and I felt for her but the movie didn't make me feel comfy in my armchair like literally all the other movies from that list.

>the car scene and the goat scene
Definitely. For me, Raimi is one of the best comedic directors.

I also forgot to mention Sleepy Hollow on my list.

sleep tight is comfy in an uncomfortable way

Such a great movie. Had no idea about the Pass Incident until I saw this. Seriously a spooky tragedy. I wonder what the truth is.

there is something comfy about trains.

Huh. No torrents of this and Netflix took it down. Damn shame, wanted to watch it again. Been a few years.

That movie is nighttime city kino. Very atmospheric.

I have bouts of sleep paralysis 2-4 times a year. Never had a good experience. I always end up moaning or kinda screaming in order to wake myself up. It's like everything is in slow motion. Your head feels like it ways a ton. In order to wake up you have to shake your head side to side.

Massive breakthrough came this year. If you want to experience sleep paralysis this MIGHT WORK FOR YOU:

Go 24 hours without sleep. Eat a shit ton of food before sleeping. I mean 2-3 servings of dinner. Next part is tricky. I'm a stomach sleeper who rarely sleeps on my back. So if your a stomach sleeper this will probably work.
Go to sleep incredibly tired, full of food, and sleep on your back. It's induced sleep paralysis 3vtimes for me in the past 5 months. It's horrible shit so don't take it lightly.
I'd describe it as a movie reel slowed down. You "feel" yourself experiencing the world frame by frame. Except something is very off.
Worst I had was freshman year of college. The clown from IT was slowing approaching my face. Felt like ages. Eventually screamed out to my mom. Woke and saw that my roomie was awaken by my yelling. Fucking embarrassing but I was sweating from the experience.

It's on amazon prime if you own that. Or on uloz.to if you look for it's american (I believe) title "The Dyatlov Pass Incident"

Have you seen it?

I sure do have Prime. Good looking out user. Thanks.

I haven't. Too much of a pussy to even attempt a viewing

This was pretty good. Saw it two days ago.

Was a sad movie.

Yeah, if you have a first hand experience with it, you might wanna lay off. However, this film deals with a specific kind of hallucination that you may not relate to, in which case it might not be so bad.

That movie was surprisingly good.
Except for the ending, what the fuck were they thinking?

Tom Noonan at it again making me feel uncomfortable

What's the matter, you don't like his creepy pedo/serial killer/satanist vibe?

just saw this, comfy as fuck

Been watching horror movies all month
Some that I liked for one reason or another

Let Us Prey
Man Bites Dog (not really horror though)
Maniac (remake)
Southbound
Oculus

Hidden wasn't anything good but the child actor in that one was magnificent. Fragile was okay, nothing crazy, like Orphanage but with actual horror.

Let Us Prey just worked in lot of personaly levels, it had shit I enjoy in horror. Man Bites Dog, just watch it if you haven't already, great film, though not horror really. Southbound felt sorta fresh and I'm sucker for anthologies so I enjoyed that, it actually wasn't that great as a horror film though. Oculus was neat how the story was told and all the fuckery with unreliable narrator in a way, 'fun' horror movie like that. Maniac was neat, it was really disturbing at times and the first person narrative was cool idea.

That's terrible. Do you still get them?
