So, after describing this film to many people, im convinced i had a crazy fever dream and made this shit up, but i want to try asking here.
The movie, im pretty sure, starts off with the woods at night. they have someone (who im assuming to be a witch) is about to be burned alive, i think. before she dies, she curses the land.
cut to the present. we have a few kids going to this cabin (or at least, some buildings) in the woods. youve got your typical crew: two girls, a nerd, a jock, a think theres a black guy.
I think theyre there for a school project. (idk abt this.)
The native american dude who takes them up there by canoe tells them this land is cursed, im pretty sure.
anyway, later on, the nerdy guy unearths a book in the woods, and then it all goes down hill from there. im pretty sure the curse is something like "if youve sinned in the past youre gonna die"
one girl (idk if she dies immediately from this) is showering and the water gets so hot she starts being cooked alive essentially, and he skin gets all crusty and boily. they bust open the door and pull her out though
The other guy, hes hanging out in the house when his grandma appears before him. his "sin" is that he killed his grandma for her money. she wasnt going to give him any, so he smothered her in her sleep. so the grandmother shows up and (i beleive) kills him by suffocating him.
everyone dies, and only one girl makes it out alive. she runs, and is releaved to see the native american guy in the canoe from earlier. she gets in, and breaks down- all my friends are dead, yada yada. but then, the native american goes "im sorry, the cycle has to continue" and he begins paddling towards a waterfall. it ends with her screaming, begging to live.
tldr: a witch or something curses the woods. one teen finds a book and shit gets real. and all the teens die but one, who gets rowed off a waterfall by a native american guy.
