I don't care what anyone says, Johnny Cage is the unsung hero of that movie. Sure he only real fights two opponents, but they are fucking Scorpion and Goro. One is an undead ninja that literally sent him to hell for the remainder of his fight. The other was the past champion of all the other Mortal Kombat tournaments. That alone made Cage way more awesome than Kang in my eyes.

Would you guys support a Mortal Kombat Netflix series? I've been writing it for the past couple of months and I'm excited to know I have a connection with Michael Jai White, who has played Jax before.

I'd have season 1 focus on the first tournament, with the original MK1 roster as the main characters, while possibly adding Kung Lao to explore Liu Kang's past, but only for an episode. Liu Kang would be the main protag.
Then season 2 would introduce Shao Kahn and focus on Kitana as the main protagonist for the most part. Explores Outworld.
Then for season 3 I'd probably just get rid of the retarded MK3 story and just combine it with the MK4 one. No Shao Kahn, only Shinnok. Raiden as protag.

Oh and I'd also definitely expand on Kung Lao's character for season 2. Except I wouldnt give him the shit personality he's had since Shaolin Monks. I want Kung Lao's original motives and personality implied in MK2.
