Recommend some comfy movies about colonialism
New World by Terrence Malick
...
doesn't look very comfy tbqh
The Emigrants and New Land
This looks pretty cool, thanks.
...
Cobra Verde kind of
Avatar
because fuck you
...
The Man Who Would Be King
Zulu
Aguirre
It's garbage though, easily his worst film.
To the Wonder, Thin Red Line and New World are Terrence Malick's best films
Counterpoint - Badlands is his only good film.
...
The ghost and the darkness
nah malick's narration gimmick really makes this one a complete joke. it feels like someone is reading an edgy 14 year old girl's twitter feed the whole movie
>......lying here with you.......
>.....our heartbeats.....
>.....your hand........in mine.....................
what a load of shit

Conquest of Paradise is some kind of 90s movie about Columbus, haven't seen it but it might be okay.
You are entitled to your opinion but my opinion is that you are wrong.
This one.
I respect that you respect it, but my opinion of your opinion of my opinion is that your are also wrong.
Call me a pleb but that movie really dragged and offered nothing of interest outside of that scene and the village attack scene, which were legit probably the best battle scenes I've seen a war movie. Instead of a bunch of shitty quick cuts that were rather focused they tended to be pretty wide and run long which was fucking great
Embrace of the Serpent

>Exploitation and oppression of whole nations
>Comfy
Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter is pretty good
A little more campy than comfy it nonetheless is fine to have on for a while
Dances with Wolves maybe?
COLONIALISM IS BRUTAL AND BARBARIC, NOT "COMFORTABLE".
Nick Nolte and Greek dude's back and forth and inner monologues were great
The Last Samurai, it's more of a cultural colonialism really.
Just a few off the top of my head
>The Sand Pebbles (max comfy)
>The Shangani Patrol
>Fitzcarraldo
>The Man Who Would Be King
>The Wild Geese (although more decolonisation or immediate post-colonisation)
>The African Queen
>That Rhodes miniseries, can't remember the name
The Mission
