What was it, again?

I go through so many THAT periods... it's not even that the thing I'm fapping to is particularly objectionable, I just start to feel like it's becoming the only thing that gets me off and feels obsessive. Then the next thing comes along...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who experiences this. It's so painful and I don't think the average normalshit even knows this problem exists. It only really happens when you have WAY too much time on your hands.

I recorded that one. Ended on a cliffhanger.

Uhh user, is there something you wanna confess to? Please don't ruin our discourse, thinking you're in good company. Take that shit to some other board.

A classic.

Have any of you ever felt like you're Truman?

Nah that's weird

So how is my English any worse when your post lacked proper capitalization and punctuation?

How would you watch it? People are saying things that wouldn't be known unless you knew what he was thinking.

Unless Truman verbally explains somehow what he's thinking, you would have to project to think that's what happened.

In those scenes, Truman did specific things that clue you in to what he's thinking. In the autismo episode he went looking up his symptoms on Google and found a bunch of autism stuff, then we saw him thinking and looking mildly distressed for an hour or two afterward. Not hard to figure out.

On the existential meltdown he had spent several episodes bitching about society and trying to get people to "wake up" on the internet. He even made a youtube video about all his theories but it only got 31 views because his internet isn't really connected to ours, it's just a hollow shell that occasionally gets updated to reflect new stuff.

Eh, I think you get my point that most of these posts are pathetic projecting that aren't even about the movie that barely make sense and shitposts and aren't funny any more, but you came up with a clever explanation, even if that's probably not what the people I quoted had in mind because they didn't think that far, so your response is still good.

Yup, a pretty niche episode, but I've definitely seen it

That might communicate sadness, but I don't see how a facial expression could express "wondering if he has autism," or, " existential meltdown after realizing the hypocrisies of modern society."

These posts aren't "fun." They're just an opportunity for Anons to post about disgusting, socially awkward, pathetic, or edgy things they've done in the guise of talking about a movie.

Yes, what's your point?

Truman posting on Cred Forums is a problem, and doing it at that age makes it worse.

I know this guy from the Americans, cool dadfu actor.

Can't wait for next season when he gets banned and offs himself on live TV!

>It's a Truman stops telling himself this year will be different on New Years Eve episode.

technically the episode didnt air till the week after new years but it still kinda put a downer on the new year for all the hardcore fans.

i really hope they change up the tone of the show eventually.

the Cred Forums arc has gone on for far too long, and it's not like there aren't more important things he could be doing either.

Okay, I'm done with this.

My point is, anybody that old posting on Cred Forums should be ashamed of themselves, rationalizations be dammed.

after youve got your priorities in order i dont see any reason not to fuck around on Cred Forums. i mean i get the feeling you havent thought out what life is really like. do you have hobbies? cuz life is boring as fuck. and you sound like your current plan is to work, come home and stare at the wall, then rinse and repeat. just wondering how old is too old for videogames?

>It's only 11 years away user.
K, nearly half my life. Don't think it's that implausible that I would be in the same position that I am now, and I were, I should be ashamed.

>that episode when Truman started choking his friends and the producers along with the viewers just sat there watching.

Fuck you I can't breathe.

>i dont see any reason not to fuck around on Cred Forums
Disagree, but there would be a clear problem if you're addicted to it like somebody half your age could be.

>cuz life is boring as fuck.
Questionable.

>and you sound like your current plan is to work, come home and stare at the wall, then rinse and repeat.
There are plenty of activities that are more redeeming than coming here. They just take more mental effort and aren't as immediately gratifying.

>just wondering how old is too old for videogames?
I would say younger than what most people think, though there are games that are more mentally challening that shitposting on Cred Forums. You should probably stop playing CoD after 20 at the least. Maybe Nintendo are acceptable in order to "capture your childhood," by in my experience, it doesn't work.

In my opinion, if you aren't engaging in an activity that's at least somewhat mentally challenging or useful for necessary functions, you should feel somewhat uneasy.

I knew it was something weird when I stopped finding shemales attractive and started jerking off to fat chicks.

I hope to God I don't end up going through a scat phase.

As I said, I'm not proud.

>it's a "Truman reads fascist literature" episode

I think I saw that one on Cred Forums once

>it's a Truman thinks mid-30's is "old" episode
I would say, like somebody who watched cartoons for children, they should eventually grow up and realize they can't recapture their childhood.

>it's a Truman thinks you stop fucking around on the Internet during your free time when you get "old" episode
I think at that time you should be old enough to realize this only hurts your social skills and develops an unhealthy addiction, one that's less justifiable than alcoholism because it's not a substance and you can't do it with friends.

>it's a Truman doesn't realize wasting his youth fucking around on the Internet is far worse than when you're set into a weekly routine and coasting through middle age episode
Not a bad point, but the difference is that you should know better by that time.

>it's another Truman stays up for 24 (32) hours to reset sleep schedule episode

Watching it right now lads and I gotta say there's been too many of those episodes this season. I understand the budget is getting thin so they can't really produce many meaningful moments for Truman but this is borderline formulaic and is definitely getting stale.

>I know nothing about how gauge works

a .12 gauge would be a cannon

youre right about everything except quitting cod at 20. that part makes no sense.

Okay, that's my personal preference, but at some point, it should be clear there isn't enough variety in those game to keep coming back.

I was just trying give some example where you naturally or even as a matter or principle feel that you're too old for something. Children's cartoons would have been a better example.

Why didn't Truman just put another bullet in and try again this episode?

Was there ever an explanation from the director?

>it's a Truman works all day and just wants to wind down posting in Truman threads but is told he should be improving his social skills instead episode

>It's a Truman prepares his nightly 2am english muffin episode.

You sound like you have a pretty immature view on adulthood to be honest. Just because people grow up they don't suddenly stop being themselves, sure they may take more responsibilities and act professional when they need to but they'll still return to the things they enjoy and if those things are video games or Cred Forums then so be it. Also I suspect your view of an activity that's at least somewhat mentally engaging is more about an activity that's socially accepted, and regardless that all comes down to a viewpoint that you should always engage in an activity that's challenging or improves yourself which might make sense when you're young and constantly bent on the ideal of self-improvement but sometimes you just want to wind down and do something you genuinely enjoy rather than something that's somehow more mentally challenging than other interests.

i agree to a point. i used to like anime but that shit was dead to me by the time i turned 17.

and i dunno about you but i dont play campaign on vidya. i only play online so it never really gets old. that said i havent played vidya in months cuz im trying to get my shit together but i know for a fact once i get based ill be back on that shit.

Eh, I guess if you have a job, you have a better reason to do it, but I still think it's an addiction that all of use would be off without.

>it's a Truman coughs up a massive tonsil stone that's been accumulating for weeks and smells it while rubbing it around on his fingers because they are literally the worst smelling things in the world episode

(You)
I like native son, who do you like?

>it's a child Truman is addicted to classic wow and ends up ending a friendship because the friend wouldn't stop coming over during the summer and ringing the doorbell episode

Truman reflecting on this event so often in his life so many years afterwards surely makes up for it right?

Man, I sure hope Truman feels bad about that. I never finished the episode, did he ever try to reach out to that friend later?

>you have a pretty immature view on adulthood to be honest.
Possibly, but I think anyone who lived up to it would be a better person.

>Just because people grow up they don't suddenly stop being themselves
Well, that's usually true of how small children grow up. "Our tastes greatly alter. The lad does not care for the child's rattle, and the old man does not care for the young man's whore." People would rightfully be concerned with somebody who plays with toys as a teenager the same way they did as a child, and I'm applying the same principle to shitposting here.

> those things are video games or Cred Forums then so be it.
Let me put it like this: Cred Forums, (perhaps not all video games), is a deleterious activity that rightfully makes people feel less about themselves and can be addictive. It's obviously not as bad as alcoholism or gambling, but I would consider those adult vices, while Cred Forums would be young man's vice.

> Also I suspect your view of an activity that's at least somewhat mentally engaging is more about an activity that's socially accepted
It can't hurt, and why not pursue an activity that's socially accepted if you would probably feel better about it?

>you should always engage in an activity that's challenging or improves yourself which might make sense when you're young and constantly bent on the ideal of self-improvement
I don't think 34 is too old to have this mentality, but too old to come here.

>sometimes you just want to wind down and do something you genuinely enjoy rather than something that's somehow more mentally challenging than other interests.
If it's occasional, then there's no real harm, but the longer you spend away from here, the more contempt you have the activity.

>i used to like anime but that shit was dead to me by the time i turned 17.
I snapped out of it slightly later, but like many things, such as Cred Forums, the longer you stay away from it, the less you care for it and the easier it is to drop the habbit.

> that said i havent played vidya in months cuz im trying to get my shit together but i know for a fact once i get based ill be back on that shit.
Then I would say that, as a matter of preference, I can't play any video game without feeling restless that I should be doing something else.

kinda true shit with the gaming. im kinda holding onto it cuz its one of the few things i used to really enjoy but the last time i played i couldnt help thinking i was working for no pay. like the game was a job with no reward. i hope its cuz it was a story mode game and not multiplayer but i really dunno anymore.

but after ive gotten thru school and have a steady job i cant see any reason not to play if i feel like it.

>Possibly, but I think anyone who lived up to it would be a better person.
Define "better person".

>People would rightfully be concerned with somebody who plays with toys as a teenager the same way they did as a child, and I'm applying the same principle to shitposting here.
So you're using your own claim as proof? The only way that would be true is if shitposting would be equivalent to a children's occupation, which is your opinion that's not really founded on anything.

See above. Prove it's a vice.

>It can't hurt, and why not pursue an activity that's socially accepted if you would probably feel better about it?
Why would you probably feel better about it if it's less enjoyable than the thing you've chosen enjoy?

>I don't think 34 is too old to have this mentality, but too old to come here.
See above.

>If it's occasional, then there's no real harm, but the longer you spend away from here, the more contempt you have the activity.
Correction: the longer I've spent away from here, the more contempt I had for the activity.

Still no arguments for any of your points. Probably because there aren't, considering they're entirely founded on abiding to social norms.

>It's a Truman hears someone talking about dating on television and realizes that every chick he makes momentary eye contact with becomes his oneitis even though he doesnt even know her name and has never seen her before in his life and becomes depressed but goes on to immediately ignore this profound sadness and on the outside looks totally normal while pieces of him die on the inside every day episode.

you couldnt really tell what was going on cuz he was just sitting there but there was something really spooky about the whole scene. usually people dont look that determined while watching television.

>Define "better person".
Somebody who's hobbies would be more likely to challenge them and give them self-esteem.

>So you're using your own claim as proof?
So, a teenager playing with toys like a child wouldn't be a little concerning? I sort of took that as an assumption. I guess I could think of activities even more infantile.

>The only way that would be true is if shitposting would be equivalent to a children's occupation, which is your opinion that's not really founded on anything.
The comparison is that playing with toys, while pleasing to children, is less so to adults because of the occupation. I'm saying going on Cred Forums is childish compared to activities that would be appropriate for adults. So instead of not going to Chuck E. Cheese and going to a Game and Busters because the latter is less "childish," you stead go to a concert, or a bar to have more respectable social interaction.

>See above. Prove it's a vice.
I don't know how rigorous you want it proved. Occasional using it gives no harm, but it's an amusement that terminate wholly in the present moment and doesn't contribute more or less to future advantage. Usually, the conversations here devolve to cirlrjerking, arguing wholly in useless hyperboles, and memes. This is in contrast to personal conversation to those we know well, in which he that amuses himself among well-chosen companions can scarcely fail to receive, from the most careless and obstreperous merriment which virtue can allow, some useful hint; nor can converse on the most familiar topics, without some casual information. The loose sparkles of thoughtless wit may give new light to the mind, and the gay contention for paradoxical positions rectify the opinions.

There are occasional instances where's a fulfilling interaction on Cred Forums, but it's usually quite rare and quite inferior to the gratification that interaction with people you know would produce. But I don't have to prove as assume that when people joke about this site ruining their lives and being a waste of time, they are more telling the truth than joking.

>Why would you probably feel better about it if it's less enjoyable than the thing you've chosen enjoy?
I would say for just about everybody, even those who are posting here, there are more enjoyable activities than posting on Cred Forums. They just take more dedication and more effort.

>Still no arguments for any of your points.
Not really accurate. You could say you don't accept the premises for my arguments, but if I say, "A better person would not go to Cred Forums. You are going to Cred Forums, Therefore, you are not a better person," that would be an argument. A non-argument is something like, "You're a rationalizing neckbeard who can't see Cred Forums is ruining your life."

>Probably because there aren't, considering they're entirely founded on abiding to social norms.
user, that's hardly fair. I even said alcoholism and gambling would be worse, even though that would arguably more socially accepted than posting on Chinese cartoon imageboards.
