Should I go as Isabelle Adjani from Possession this year?

kino is such a redit word but kairo, tetsuo the iron man, and inland empire.

>kairo
No doubt god tier

Rosemary's Baby is mediocre.
>Inland Empire
>horror
When will the hipster memes end?

im hoping they run a halloween marathon on ifc.

amc already did it but fuck them for running the censored versions.

That would be quite a commitment, user.

>Rosemary's baby is mediocre
Tell us what isn't mediocre, user. Please.

>shits on rosemary's baby
>claims inland empire isn't horror

not only are you a clear retard but you didn't contribute a single thing to the thread.

Deep Red
Inland Empire is an art film that plays like a nightmare, and has none of the formal attributes which define the genre. That isn't to say that anomalies don't exist, but if this is horror, then so is Meshes of the Afternoon.
Did you mean to quote the OP?

...

Tell me about it, I'm not even a qt slim half Algerian French girl with big blue eyes

that scene at the station where he is being chased by that woman gave me nightmares

not him but i also didn't like rosemary's baby either.

maybe i hyped it too much but it just never got better for me.

...

Deep Red is Argento's best, but it doesn't even fuming compare to Rosemary's Baby.

Fuckin faggot

It's not the scariest film, but if you watch it as a film noir, it might get better.

please tell me you have the edition with the best ending.

youtube.com/watch?v=OXSdZLLQEpA

I liked the movie, but I watched it after 'The tenant' and the latter was wimply better.
Rosemary's baby made it quite clear that Rosemary was right and there really was a conspiracy. The tenant kept things ambiguous and provided a great insight into the mind of a madman.

>not having the blu ray special edition will both alternate endings and the theatrical
Of course, i actually enjoy that movie. I also love the thing, both versions.

Why didn't he just kill Black Phillip when his daughter told him to?

Why didn't he kill him with the Axe at the end?

Why didn't Thomasin fuck up Phillip's shit at the end?

About to show my gf Under the Skin. We'll both be stoned. At what part should I scare the shit out of her?

>Why didn't he just kill Black Phillip when his daughter told him to?
There was no reason to believe her, he thought she was a witch.

>Why didn't he kill him with the Axe at the end?
Did he have an axe with him? Also he pretty much accepted that the devil had won which is why he said, "Corruption thou art my father"

>Why didn't Thomasin fuck up Phillip's shit at the end?
What was she going to do? Remember that Black Phillip is not a malevolent entity by himself, only a vessel for the devil. Killing Black Phillip won't do anything to the devil.

The part when she finally realises How pathetic you actually are, should be scary enough.

when u see penor

She'll be terrified when she sees that weird looking dog dick of yours.

>Deep Red is Argento's best, but it doesn't even fuming compare to Rosemary's Baby.
Sure it does. It's much better in every way. Rosemary's Baby is a relic of New Hollywood filmmaking, with its flat lighting, the use of realism, and the obvious feminist subtext. In no way does it stand out in Polanski's catalogue, and it is essentially a horror film for people who don't like horror.

Did you see the American cut of Deep Red?
>It's not the scariest film, but if you watch it as a film noir, it might get better.
A film noir? Rosemary's Baby? What a strange thing to say.

youtube.com/watch?v=07FdVcspOfQ

the acting in this film is phenomenal

The movie is only superficially a horror film. It's more an art film about what it's like to be a woman or a prostitute or something. Birth was better.

what is happening in that webm

>obvious feminist subtext
That's like when faggots say 300 is homoerotic -- it says more about you than the film.
>in no way does it stand out in Polanski's catalogue
Objectively speaking, it does.
>what a strange thing to say
Not really. Take out the supernatural element.

>about what it's like to be a woman or a prostitute or something

Have you even seen it?

not to worry, bros, her bull is prepped in case she gets bored ;)

I like Birth better too, and found Birth way creepier, but Under the Skin is still a good movie and she wants to watch it. I'm going to scare her when the first guy starts sinking into the black goo.

...

I meant that you actually get to see penor, erect and all, in Under the Skin
Of all the people who got to show their boners to ScarJo it was a bunch of inbred and diseased Scots

>That's like when faggots say 300 is homoerotic -- it says more about you than the film.
So movies have no subtext, and if you think they do, you're projecting? What I'm saying is not exactly controversial.
>Objectively speaking, it does.
Another strange thing to say. Aside from its cultural impact, there's not much to distinguish it.
>Not really. Take out the supernatural element.
Removing the supernatural element, and the typical 70's cynicism, it's more like a later era Hitchcock film, but without the tension and inventive camerawork. There is nothing there to compare it to film noir.

Hahahaha never change Cred Forums

I have. What's it about to you?

once a month, for three days, women must go through this ordeal

...

it's hard to find a good torrent of this movie. Or even a great print.

a confused Ayy that tries human things, human nature

Well, that's what literally happens. But what's the takeaway? What is it about?

>so movies have no subtext
Of course they do. And it's always largely a subjective matter of perspective.
>another strange thing to say
>aside from its cultural impact
Heh... nice
>nothing to compare it to film nor
>style or genre of cinematographic film marked by a mood of pessimism, fatalism, and menace
Yeah, how could I be so silly.

fuck you

Halloween is literally going to play at a theater a mile away in 45 minutes and I'm sitting it out for multiple reasons:

I need a good night's sleep.
I saw Aliens at the same theater last week and was satisfied.
I have got the basic idea of "Halloween" due to a lifetime of basic cable consumption.

Rosemary's first impulse should have been to dash that child's head against the wall. Murder that baby. But of course that's not hte point of the conclusion. The point is for Woman to fail where it really counts, as ever.

...

you could say it's about prostitution, I just wouldn't say that it's "what it's like to be"

>Of course they do. And it's always largely a subjective matter of perspective.
This is like saying all art is subjective. Who cares? Either back what you say or don't.
>Heh... nice
I thought it was assumed we were talking about the film's merit in and of itself, but apparently you needed it to be specified.
>style or genre of cinematographic film marked by a mood of pessimism, fatalism, and menace
>Yeah, how could I be so silly.
That's not all that defines film noir though. By that defintion, Apocalypse Now and Antichrist are film noir.

You're pretty dumb btw, and I'm done responding to your posts.

what film is that?

I was being tongue in cheek, slugger.

...

>either back what you say or don't
>it has a feminist subtext
The eyes see what the mind believes. I'm saying it... and I'm backing it.
>the film's merit in and of itself
No such thing
>by definition Apocalypse Now and Antichrist areally film noir
You need to examine how we got to this point. I said, "remove the supernatural elements and it's a film noir", I didn't say it was a film noir.

I'll await your next response kek

Dagon

>That's like when faggots say 300 is homoerotic -- it says more about you than the film.
Do you make the same argument about gay porn?

Alright, one more...
>The eyes see what the mind believes. I'm saying it... and I'm backing it.
What I'm saying is the standard interpretation of the film, nothing at all controversial. If you think it's just projection, it's on you to refute that interpretation in some way. If you don't understand how the film could be seen as having a feminist subtext, then maybe you should read more about what has been written about it. It's the majority view.
>the film's merit in and of itself
>No such thing
But there is such a thing as autism.
> I said, "remove the supernatural elements and it's a film noir"
That's what I was responding to. And no it's not. At all.
>I didn't say it was a film noir.
Again, you seem to take everything at face value. Are you really this autistic?

>Saw
>Saw 2
>Saw 3
>Hellraiser
>Hellbound: Hellraiser 2
>Candyman
>Cannibal Holocaust

All quality imo.

>any saw past 1
>Cannibal Holocaust

no

i was just going to say the same thing. you have good taste my friend.

saw 2 is best

>if you don't understand how the film could be seen as having a feminist subtext
Sure I can. I just think that the critics have a tendency to use their imaginations a bit too frivolously. And in this case, I believe the "majority view" is perpetuated by a feminist lens.
>there is such a thing as autism
True, I'd refer to your posts as Exhibit A
>no its not, at all
Compelling rebuttal
>you seen to take everything fave value
I'm not even sure where you're coming from here

Go ahead and respond, I won't hold it against you.

Something Wicked This Way Comes is great, but it's more of a fairy tale set in the old days of America than a horror.

"THE AUTUMN PEOPLE" I love Ray Bradbury's writing so much. It's mostly short stories, too.

If you like horror/sci-fi and Americana (small towns and baseball and Moms in aprons, etc) then I highly recommend reading a couple Bradbury stories. A lot of them are drawn from his childhood in the 20s and 30s. Would take 10 minutes and you'd probably really enjoy them.
